Question Set default browser to none? - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Hi,
I am trying to figure out do I set my default browser option to none? I do not want to uninstall or disable chrome, but I just want default browser app to be none.
I do not see that as an option in default app settings.
Also tried to clear defaults from the chrome specific app.

Try the app from the google store "Better Open With".

Android 12 and 13 force a default browser on us. Personally, I use Choose Browser from the Play Store. I like to have certain browsers open for different things. You set it as the default browser and it will always pop up the option to choose from the rest.

It isn't possible. But hey...I use Samsung Internet. I love that browser. It is fast....secure and has adblocking built it.
It has the Quick Access page. It backs itself up to your Samsung account.

Chrome keeps launching Dolphin when doing a search????

I don't know if anybody has noticed this glitch but somebody else had the same problem on another forum. When I click the search icon, instead of Chrome opening another tab, it opens Dolphin HD and performs the search query there. That makes absolutely no sense to me??
I froze Dolphin with TiBu but then you can't search, the magnifying glass icon disappears. Snapped this to show an example:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

}
Is your default search set to dolphin? As in your default search like the search widget?

Not sure what you mean? Chrome is the default browser, I checked Dolphin and it said no defaults. Where's the default search?
can't figure out what's causing this glitch, really makes no sense.

Running Process

I had a look at whats running after a re-boot:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Other them Display brightness, Thumb Keyboard, Google Services and Gallery, why are the others running? I imagine that secphone and Samsung Push Service are required to make the phone work and have my mail pushed. Gps Navigator shows restarting all the time until I turn in on then goes in process. What of those should be frozed as I dont use them at leased for now unless other app are using them.
Those are system apps which are meant to be run by default. If you close most of them, your phone might not function properly like lets say when you get an email or a message, the notification will not be shown if they are force stopped.
Yes, I agree, some apps like Samsung Apps, Maps...etc keep running when you hardly use them.
If its still a pain for u to have these apps running, Use Root Explorer to freeze/Uninstall those apps or just add ".bak" extension to the apk incase if you will ever need these apps.

I am using LawnChair launcher with Google's Message app as default and works just fine.
You need to make changes under App Management -> Default Apps

General WSA: Use DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser

DuckDuckGo published DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser for Android OS - it's Open Source.
Because Windows 11 allows you to install the Windows Subsystem for Android ( WSA ) it's highly recommended to install this browser in WSA: DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser ( latest: November 25, 2022 ) is a great app with a good and easy-to-use interface. The app is not only user-friendly but also makes it easy for everyone to access and browse the internet safely. Along with safe browsing, you can also explore different search terms and better results easily.

Especially when running WSA for me DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser is a great way to privately explore any webpage that you want. You can be safe that your details will be safe and that you’ll always have an easy browsing experience. The app is light and it doesn’t let your WSA hang. You can also browse videos in a much more interactive way than before.
DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser APK is available on Google Play Store and here.

Question Samsung Gallery/Image Editor won't show as an option when selecting an app to edit an image.

I don't really understand why I don't have the ability to select the Samsung image editor when I'm viewing an image in another gallery app?
I use simple gallery Pro and every other image editor I have on my phone pops up in the selection menu, even the Samsung video editor, but not the Samsung image editor with the object removal function etc.
Does anyone know why this could be?

I got the same. Ask simple gallery app dev to look into it
I would but I don't think it's a Simple Gallery issue. If you do the same thing with other gallery apps Samsung image editor/gallery is still not there
I find it annoying when the option to 'open in gallery' comes up (like from Whatsapp) but when you do it's like a lite version, and you can't edit the picture. Never understood that. So have to save image then go into gallery to open it to edit it.
