So, as the title suggests, I have got my hands on a Samsung Galaxy A10 (SM-A105F) which was stashed away because i was supposedly dead. The phone is able to boot up (the vibrator works during start-up), the charging seems ok (I hear a charging tone when plugged in) and a port is created when connected to a computer. Someone may have set an alarm which went off at effing 5am further proving that the handset is indeed working fine. However, the display doesn't turn on even after letting it charge for some time and I wasn't able to see any graphics either so I think that the issue is with the display itself.
I dont have a spare phone or LCD to test whether the problem lies with the screen or the display circuit. I found some reference info and tested the LCD connector for a secure connection and then checked for voltage drop on the pins. I have attached an image of the same; the values in white boxes are from the reference info while the black boxes denote actual values.

I continued further and tried hot-testing the phone and measured the voltages on the components according to the Samsung service manual i.e. LED_A_20V, VSN_5P5, VSN_-5P5 and VDD_LCD_1P8
All of them were out of range.
The service manual says to reball/replace an IC (U7006) but I believe the display IC (U6009) and/or related components to be the cause of the problem. Need some inputs before I proceed as I would like to rule out any other possibilities.
P.s- This repair is a challenge thrown to me by my cousin who saw me trying to repair my Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo!

Got this to work yesterday. An acquaintance from an online group on Telegram suggested I reflow or replace the backlight IC which seems to be the culprit.
I reflowed the chip and voila! the display came on without any problems. The touch works fine too. So, it was a good challenge as I learnt many new things including handskills when using a reworking gun or a microsolder pen all of which goes towards a worthy experience. The look on my cousin's face was priceless too!!

they are called Flexible flat cable
u should get em on ebay or at your local electronic store
The only thing u have to research on your own is the connector type (at mainboard side). But that shouldnt be to hard - imho is should be one of the default connectors for those cables - even im not sure.
Maby "scholbert" knows... u could ask him.
Count the pins and try to buy one - no need for a full device

well the picture is quite small - but I can see it's a bit different "style" then in my 101...
Anyway as there shouldn't be lines carrying combined signals - it still should be possible to rebuild that...
I fear that's the only way u have atm - since we don't know any reseller for replacement parts as far as i know - I saw quite a few people now asking for different things batteries, digitizer, display,...
But the only solution was to take it from broken device each time (besie I saw some sceen without digitizer around)
wich leads to ebay,.. but most time they are not "that" cheap...

Hi, a friend dropped a glass of beer on his galaxy i9100. Phone looks dead but when he give it to me i've tried another battery and the phone turns on with apparently no problem. So he bought another new original battery, put on and charge the phone. But, temperatures reach critical level and the phone stopped the charge. The temperature raise even without charge with battery in and phone on. So i disassembled and scan for damaged components or some trace of "beer" but the phone looks clear. I then sprayed with a product similar to wd40 (we call it crc in Italy, removes dirt and clear electric contacts) and wait for dry. But same problem. I turned on the phone partially disassembled and the heat is concentrated in the flex hook of the frontal buttons but probably the heat comes from the chip near that.
unfortunately there is no code on that chip so i hope you can understand wich i'm talking about. The only thing is that i don't really know if the heat is from that chip or the flex hook, i don't know how to test it. Looking at it there is no sign of damage. Any advice?

ps: with the crc the temperature focused on that chip, before that all the charging flex was over heating

All I can say is you look through previous posts about motherboards and see if anyone has an old board you could get.
I dont know how easy it would be to change that component your after.
I dunno about beer but mine (GT-I9100P) had a couple of vodka baths and it still works impeccably. (and when I say baths, I say full glass spilled on it)

Background:
I have a G-Tab that I've had for a while. I started noticing that the case would get really hot when charging. I removed the back cover, and felt the batteries and the felt fine to the touch. I then touched one of the integrated circuits (see images) and burned a nice rectangle into my finger tip. This chip and the other one of this type on the other side of the board get really hot. I haven't kept the tablet unplugged for several days now in fear this chip will "blow" and possibly take other components with it.
These chips are marked as:
7C9F 359
As shown in the second image. Both sides of the mainboard have this chip, and both get hot; as shown in the third image.
I also have a Cube U30GT2 that has a chip similar to this one, but marked as:
2015CS AD1364.
These seem to do something with voltage regulation. The ones on the G-Tab board are near to the full sized USB, and the Mini-USB plugs. The one on the U30GT2 is coming off the battery connection.
Now to my Question:
Can anyone help me identify these chips, and what they do; and, for bonus points, possibly tell me what can be done to fix this issue?
So far, I've checked for shorts between the pins on the chips on the G-Tab board; between the power plug and the ground plane and found none.
I have also looked for reference USB circuit designs to take a look at what those reference for these types of chips. I downloaded the Tegra 2 Technical Reference manual, but that only shows block diagrams of the USB interfaces.

The charging circuit in these tabs is what is known as a linear regulator that will produce heat because it's dropping the difference between the charger voltage and battery voltage. Make sure that you don't use anything but a 9V charger.

then I removed the black sticker around the lcd connector and catched out that some resistors are loosened.
Do anyone know these issue? is there any fix? soldering? but where I can find the spare parts?

Exact same problem here too. I've been using the phone fine for two months but just yesterday this screen issue happened. It happens randomly and is hard to reproduce. Tapping or scrolling the left side seems to cause glitches. Hopefully this isn't a hardware issue.
Screenshots do not show the problem, and funnily enough pressing things on the left of the screen still works, like opening apps/typing etc, you just can't see what you're doing until the glitch clears itself! It also happened once on the LeEco splash screen on booting, and in recovery mode. I'm not sure about the bootloader.
I haven't looked at the resistors as the phone is basically new, so if this is a hardware issue I'm hoping for a replacement! If anyone has a fix please post it!
I also had the same issue but for some reason only with LOS 15.1.
When I boot into it it's fine but when I lock the phone half of it turns into RGB noise like on the photo. Restarting does fix the problem but still locking it makes the noise again. I think it's just a software glitch.
Thanks @LameMonster82. Mine is a lot more often than that, and not just when locking the phone. Glad to know this could just be a software issue though!
@toto1988 any update on this? Did you find a fix? There's a solution offered by @geekch to reflash the LeMax2Qfil so I may try that myself over the next few days. Flashing stock Rom and recovery unfortunately did not work so Qfil may be the last resort.
Sorry for delay. Now I got a new motherboard and anything works fine again. So it was definitely a hardware issue. Before I tried all other potential software fixes without success.

My OnePlus X is my daily driver and I was planning on using it for some more years if this is fixable
Recently the USB port started to fail, so I decided to replace the part. A little setback was that i also had to replace the GSM antenna cable, which I had damaged during disassembly. So far so good, the phone is now charging again and reception and mobile data are working fine.
However, ever since the repair my Wifi reception has gone to ****, it is now so bad that it's pretty much unusable even when right next to the router. I've come to the conclusion that this is not a problem with the antenna cable replacement, as removing this cable only kills cell reception, wifi is unchanged. You can see the cable i'm talking about running into the long side of the frame in the bottom of this

, with the golden connector on the lower edge of the motherboard (the other side connects to the USB flex cable, under the metal housing on the right). I believe the Wifi chipset itself is contained within the small housing in the upper middle of the board, with the + sign.
So now on to my question:
Does anyone know where exactly the wifi antenna on this phone is located? I'm assuming that it is being routed into the plastic/metal housing cover that's over the mainboard. I've made sure that none of the pins on the motherboard that connect to the housing cover are missing/bent or corroded. I've angled them up a little bit and cleaned them with alcohol to ensure a good contact.
But still, no wifi. Is it possible that the wifi chip itself got damaged in the repair and is there any way to find out?
