With this app it has to work.
And one more who use now Android C=
So with that canhe put his I tune songs onto his phones storage or can he just stream them to his phone

If he wants to stream his music just upload it all to google play music
doubletwist will sync the music to the phone
So he can either have the music on his phone with double twist or just stream it as required with google play

yes options listed above will both work. I have apple and android devices with music going in both directions all the time
With Google Music, you can just stream or you can mark album/artist/song for download so you can play them offline.
hi guys
i bought my lumina 800 only 2 days ago...
1. i'm not able to download songs from the internet directly on to the phone- it just streams
2. zune only detects audio and video files.. how do i transfer other files (say .pdf) to my fone
answers would be of great help..
thanks..
Aditya from india
1) I don't think you can download songs from the internet.
2) You can't really sync PDFs as far as I know. You would be best off uploading them to your Skydrive account and downloading them onto your phone from there. Make sure you have the Adobe Reader app installed before doing that.
thanks..
but i'm really dissappointed
so this means i need my laptop around all the time?? i thought lumina was a substitue to my laptop... is there no way at all for downloading music??
Download from marketplace application "Free Music Downloader". I use this application for downloading music
Use easyring&music from market to download music and ringtones. Oh one more thing, it is called Lumia, not Lumina.

You can purchase and download music directly on your phone via Zune or Nokia Music.

ibjaredu is right. SkyDrive is your friend. Have a look at the Beta announced a couple of days ago. Go to http://skydrive.live.com. Once you have installed the PC app you can drag & drop files on your PC into your SkyDrive folder. Once uploaded you can access them directly on your Lumia as well.
thanks everyone!!
really helped...
free music app worked.. but is there any way of bringing the downloaded music into lumia's music player?
Use the Skydrive app to keep your music and other files on ?
They were giving away 25GB free not long ago, thats where I store my stuff as 8GB gets used up pretty quickly
Any Ideas how to synchronize our HTC Desire X's with PC, without using HTC Sync Manager?
Why not HTCSM? It doesn't copy images, music, docs normally. It drains a lot of RAM. I don't need a music player in HTCSM, i I just need to synchronize files fast.
What software do You use to sync with PC?
By far the most reliable music syncing tool I use is Easy Phone Tunes, but it only syncs music. It's just useful because I buy new music every day and therefore I need something simple to do the job quickly. For videos and pictures I do the classic drag and drop. I'd recommend it though
Use Cloud storage applications

just classic copy paste.

Has anyone tried using the media link HD with the one max?? I cannot get it to stream. it will only go into mirroring mode. Working with HTC but they claim it should work. All updates to phone and media link are done. Just want to know if anyone else has had trouble or i will swap the phone.
Thanks,
(i have two other HTC phones that it works on so not the media link HD. Its a one max specific issue)
i can confirm the media link hd only mirrors on the htc one max. i have the sprint version. stock not rooted.
when i went to the media link, it prompted me to update its firmware. as you mentioned, that did not help.
i know on the htc one and other devices (the lte 4G for example as well) whenever I would play a video or some other file and i was around my media link hd, i would get a prompt asking if i wanted to stream to the tv.. with the max, i get no such notification.
whats cool is my blu ray player, the sony 5100, picked up the pone and i can stream through that whilst i do other things on the device. i did not know the phone could talk to the player.
so yeah its not your phone its more likely a bug that needs removed.. :good:
Ok thank you for checking. I'll will mention that to HTC tech support.

Ok so if anyone actually reads this don't waste your money on the HTC media link. The roku box or most decent blu-Ray players do the same thing and more.

agree. thanks to your post i fired up the media link HD and at the same time had my blu ray player running. the max saw the blu ray player and the streaming was lovely.
i picked up chromecast and its been doing well. if someone is on the fence about getting the media link HD, id also suggest holding off. pick up a chromecast first as its much cheaper.
maybe htc will update the media link hd later....
