Hi folks.
Last year I've got robbed in California when I was traveling with my cousin, and decided to buy one S22 Plus, once I like so much the Samsumg Wallet app and service.
The service is working alright, however, I can not access the "Rewards Program" from Brazil.
Since I got back home in Brazil, I restored the mobile to the factory details, nothing new.
After that, realized that in "country and region" tab the country "United States" was sticky, could not change manually to Brazil.
Thinking that changing the country might solve the trouble, I contacted Samsung US, did the whole procedure they asked me (including an explicit declaration) and changed the country to Brazil. Later, restored again my phone to factory details.
Now I see that nothing changes the Samsung Wallet Rewards Programs, it keeps appearing announcements of macys and other brands in US, nothing alike brazilian program, and I actually would like to use it, like I got used to use in my last galaxy (the phone robbed was a xiaomi, had to use google pay instead of samsumg pay), one thing that inarguably made me to get back to samsung.
SHOULD I CHANGE THE FIRMWARE? I completely depleted my support with samsung.com (Brazil and US), they can not help me, they say once my phone is bought in US, it's gonna be alwase US.
Got informations about following model versions of fw: "SC-52CSCG14", "SM-S9080", "SM-S908B", "SM-S908E", "SM-S908N", "SM-S908U", "SM-S908U1" and "SM-S908W".
My phone is "SM-S908U1", but I couldnt find any brazilian firmware of SM-S908U1.
I have found ONLY the SM-S908E in brazilian version, question: IS IT GONNA WORK ON MY PHONE?
Second question: IS IT GONNA SOLVE MY PROBLEM OF SAMSUNG WALLET (appearing our Brazilian Rewards Programs [instead of americans])?
Thank you very much.

Hey guys,
I have a weird problem that Samsung actually made up:
I originally bought my Tab in the US, but live in EU now. I managed to kill it with Odin, and all I want is to have it newly partitioned and with ANY firmware installed (I have the APX-Only-Problem as described in some threads, anyways).
But, all companies I called so far (in Germany) cannot do it, because Samsung does not allow a US device repaired in EU. I have this in writing and also as statement from Samsung DE.
After talking to half a dozen repair companies I thought I ask the Pros Anybody faced the same problem before and got it repaired? Before I send the paperweight to US I toss it and get a non-Samsung Tab, out of principle.
Thanks guys!
I got a new phone for Christmas today! I was asked what I'd like, and I specifically requested the Samsung Galaxy S3 because of the flexibility for modding.
The phone itself seems to work fine, and it's in English, but for some strange reason the firmware preloaded on it, with Android 4.3, is the Greek firmware. (I actually live in Scotland, in the UK.) When I do *#1234# in the dialer, this is what I see:
AP : I9300XXUGNG3
CP : I9300XXUGNA8
CSC : I9300EURGNG1

According to SamMobile, this is the 2014 September firmware for Greece. I asked where the phone was bought from and it apparently was bought on Amazon. Since Amazon still seem to be selling and shipping S3s themselves, I don't believe this came from the Marketplace. (I could be wrong, tough.)
Does anybody have any idea as to why I might have had the Greek firmware preloaded? Nothing in the materials with the phone seems to be Greek - there's a UK power adapter from Samsung, English manuals, and even the label in the battery compartment gives the address for Samsung UK. In fact, apart from the *#1234# output above and the output in the About This Phone section of the settings, the only giveaway that it might be Greek firmware is that when rebooting into the stock recovery, the background image has text in Greek. (However, the actual interface is in English.)
I've downloaded the Greek stock firmware files corresponding to my phone from SamMobile for future reference, but before I do any flashing I'd like to work out what's going on...

Questions go in the q&a area, I'll Get a mod to move it.
It could be a refurbished model, things like that can be expected when buying from amazon, ebay etc.
Just flash the latest stock rom for your area If you want to change it.
Read and understand these links and you will be fine. And always backup your EFS!

Oops, sorry for posting this in the wrong forum. Thanks for the answer, though!
[edit: One question, though - won't using firmware for a different region fail because of potentially different hardware revisions? Or do all i9300's have exactly the same hardware revisions?]
All i9300 have the exact same hardware so can be flashed with any firmware published for that model.
Hi all ---first post---need some help.
----Sorry in advance for any Newbness.
I bought my LG G5 on Kijiji----was originally from Bell---had it unlocked to use on Rogers and was working fine.
5 days later, the phone was not connecting to the Rogers network---I called Rogers and was advised that my IMEI was blacklisted/Stolen phone.
Scrambling for a solution, I Found someone on eBay in India who "repaired"/Changed the IMEI and the phone is now working on Rogers network again.
But When I go to check for software updates it tell me "Your phone is not registered yet"
My question is----Anyway possible way to get Rogers or Bell's Android updates on this phone?
Many thanks in advance for your help/Ideas.
Probably not OTA style, but you should be able to download the KDZ file and flash it manually.
Side note, talking about changing IMEI numbers on here is against the rules i think.
IMHO Sounds like the guy who you bought it from reported it stolen in order to get another phone for cheap.. you could just try calling Bell, plead your case and they might be able to reverse the blacklist.. you might have to prove you purchased it tho, so any communications between you and the seller will help.
Hello everyone!
Okay so first off, sorry for having to post my first post as a question.
So I'm from Egypt (we still don't even have the s5e in stores..), I usually get all my tech from Amazon.com, seeing that the LTE variantof the Tab S6 is not available there yet, I went to check out amazon UK(also has global shipping)
I found an LTE variant of the tablet (Can't link it since I'm a new user) but its the "Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 LTE 256 GB 10.5-Inch Tablet - Mountain Grey (UK Version)". Link: amazon.co.uk/dp/B07W4KVH18?tag=dradisplay0bb-21&ascsubtag=8ae47d4591cfa385f0e63929fb543ed4_CT&ref=dra_a_ms_sb_ho_xx_P600_100
I found alot of questions getting answered by (it'll work only after you make a 10 min phone call in the UK using a UK sim card), is this what they call (Unlocking process) ? and is there anyway I can bypass that ? will I even need to do this ? since someone who lives in the EU asked that question and they said it'll work just fine without going through that process. also I use (Vodafone EG) as my carrier
I do apologies for a somewhat silly question, but I don't quite get how the locked/unlocked/GSM/CMDA thingy works
Thank you in advance !
Try putting in the link, but without the http(s)://www bit at the beginning
Oh and it's not at all a silly question.
Was it this one?

Done, and yeah that's the one.
OK, there are two issues.
Service Provider Lock
Region Lock
As this is from Amazon then it should be Service Provider unlocked.
However to stop what are known as 'Grey Imports' where a unit is destined for say the Hong Kong market, to stop it being then re-exported to say the UK they require a HK sim to be installed first (which is why if you but a new unit from Hong Kong it's usually been opened and a sim put in it so that it performs it's initial region check) this then allows you to subsequently install any sim, as long as the first sim is from a matching region.
In this instance I would guess that the unit Amazon are selling are probably region locked to Europe (I'm not certain though obviously), which means the first sim you installed would have to be a euro sim and you would have to do it in Europe for the sim to validate live and disable the region lock.
A potential way around this would be buy a used unit off ebay where the Region Lock has already been deactivated.
Hope the above makes sense, if you need further help and don't want to do it in the thread you could PM me.
Update: I got the tablet from Amazon UK and it worked just fine in Egypt, (I just popped in my Egyptian sim card and turned on the device
I am glad it works well for you.
I am wondering if it will work in the US if I get it from Amazon.uk. T-Mobile only carries the 128gb one; I need the 256gb one.
I'm heading for vacation in Seoul for a week, starting this Saturday. I'd like to buy an S23 there. Does anyone have any advice on how that process works there? Best places to get it, etc?
I'm currently in Mongolia and eventually will head back to the States so I know I need to check bands.
TIA!!!
Is there anything special with Korean devices except for Korean bloatware? It used to be that Galaxy devices sold in Korea were made in Korea but I don't know if that still applies to the S23? I bought my S1 from Korea and it was made in Korea then... But, aren't you better off with US unlocked version?
OK... I'm back from Korea... and figured I'd answer my own question.
Only Samsung Stores sell Samsung phones to foreigners in Korea! :-(
I found this out the hard way when I tried at multiple "cell phone stores". Nobody would help me at all, they wouldn't even talk to me. I finally forced someone to talk to me and they said, "you're not Korean and we don't sell to foreigners". I asked where to buy one then and I was told "Samsung Stores only".
Of course due to my lack of planning, it was the evening of my last day there and I didn't have time to go across Seoul, I came home without one :-(
Now I have a choice... buy from America and pay to ship to Mongolia... or buy in Mongolia and pay a premium for the same model. I'm currently undecided...

yeah its weird, i think you can buy normally here in Vn even if youre a foreigner
You could buy every product in every country without limits. Of course it's clear that has to be legal in that country, but it's strange that an USA citizen couldn't buy in SK..
Phone shops sell plans and require kyc. It pretty much the same way with apple in Japan.
