Yes it can be done you need to have a custom recovery made for the phone using your firmware.info file from your phone. Check out root pros keyword in google.

Please, someone, help me with my eBay bought Chinese Android phone. It came with 5 preinstalled Virus presents and unless I root it I can rid it of viruses. I've tried the PC version of all the one-click sites but it says my phone is too solid. It's a 2018 version. The data I got with AIDA64 gives me the hardware data as prescribed as per technical specifications.
The problem is an in allot of these tablets , is that the Adroind version is KitKat 4.4.2
Can someone help to provide a custom ROM a let me know how I can get Android 9 on the tablet?

Note that before you can install a Custom ROM you need to install a Custom Recovery ( e.g. TWRP ) matching your device. If you can't find the latter , you may consider to compile TWRP at your own.

Thanks for the tip I checked but I am a newbie in this matter.
The tablet is rooted now, I managed to do this.
But when I want to reboot the bootloader the screen goes black and stays like that.
I found out also that this is the model
SPEC are model MEDIATEK HELIO X20 -- MT6797
