Does anyone know where is the downloaded update stored ?
Don't want to update right now but it is going to remind me in 3 hours, and is there a way to stop the update process or do a factory reset will it skip the update?

Just connect to the pc and update with Kies, or flash the new rom with Odin.
Just wanted to skip the update completely, so how to avoid update ?

If a box appears that an update is available just press no, look in settings, about the phone, software update and you can disable fota updates.
Did you try removing the battery in between the update ?
It stopped popping up after i installed a ROM. I refuse to install it since i did it before and my phone would not root until i got an exchange from sprint and didn't install it the second time.
I did an OTA upgrade to LG8 and Rooted with CF-Root6.4 and now every time I reboot it shows the "Android is upgrading" message, so anyone know how to fix this without reflashing Rom because I won't be home until next week.
Try to remove the synchronization with samsung account , if there is still a notification, you have to do a wipe date , factory reset ....
unable to update after root
why did i can run the OTA after root? is it normal? the clockwork recovery said the the signature was not recognized.
Fundamental element in order to be able to complete the update process of the Galaxy is to have a firmware entirely original.
If you have on your phone a test version, root permissions enabled or a modified kernel installed (e.s. , CF-Root) will be unable to update.

Root no OTA update as per then thousand posts .
jje
I was Rooted when I got the OTA update and apart from this problem which isn't really a problem it all went through fine, so guess I'll just wait and use Odin to see if it fixes.
hi friends
I've rooted my device - now it says there is a system update - since I cannot update OTA version, how can I stop asking for system update?
nobody knows how should I get rid of system update message?
Make a nand back up of rom...if wanting to keep current rom...if not on stock rom reflash stock nand back up and recovery,if s-on...relock bootloader accept ota...not that big of deal actually...until they push the update to device and you cant not accept it...has been known to happen...lol

Hey everybody
I know this will be stupid question
But now am on stock .28 rooted
If I got an update I can update normally using update center?
Or I have to unroot??
Thanks.
You can't update if you have rooted your phone.
OTA updates will be denied because of the modifications you have made. You will get a "could not verify" error
But if you force the update via PC Companion you will loose root, recovery and all the apps that need root such as xposed framework will stop working
Its not a problem to lose the root
But if I updated via PC companion it will update my android?

Why don't u update through flashtools ?
You'll find your desired firmware in its Database
Link: http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
Be aware: Your internal storage will be wiped.
With the flashtool I need the ftf file to flash
Then I dont wanna lose any data

You won't loose any data if you upgrade. Downgrades need all the wipes; updates no. And PC Companion may or may not work because sometimes it will deny updates to modified devices.
Hey, i'm on S906BXXU2AVG6 and tried to update to current version, but it says corrupted data, so i moved back without problems.
Is it not possible to update directly to new version without the updates between?
It should update. Sounds like the update is corrupted or possibly your firmware is.
ok looks like i cant update
i tested all firmwares after S906BXXU2AVG6 with and without root and still got corrupted error
