Question Vibration intensity - Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Hi all, I would like to know how to change vibration intensity on WhatsApp. To better explain: when someone sends me a message, my S23 Ultra vibrates twice, that is something I don't like, so I would change and make my phone vibrates once when WhatsApp messages arrive to my phone. I've searched but I couldn't find the right option.
Please can someone help me? Hope I've been clear.
Thanks

go to sound and vibration and there you can choose notification vibration like short, beeep, zigzag etc , i set up mine for Sync with sound.

Go to Settings, Apps, find Whatsapp, click on it and then under "Notifications" then "In-app notification settings" and there you can set all the notifications in Whatsapp as you want

Try to select your preferred vibration pattern in settings.

Guys I've tried again all of your suggestions but it not changes. When I choose 'short' in settings for example, it only works on Instagram notifications, and when I try to change something in WhatsApp settings it doesn't work! Even if I choose 'short', 'long' or 'default', it always remains that two little f****n vibrations!

Perhaps check your whatsapp permissions & access options.

If WhatsApp is the only app with the issue, might be worth trying to clear data and uninstall it. Then reinstall and set it up afresh. May be worth a try if nothing else is working.

Yes, the only thing it's to clear all and uninstall it, I think it's the only right way. It's not possible that everyone can do it but me. And this thing already happened with my previous phone, a Note20 Ultra. I try with several devices to change the vibration, but I've never do it. This time I want to go far and know why it only happens to me.

Finally did it!
Long press Whatsapp icon > info >
Notifications > In-app notification settings (this will NOT work if this menu is accessed via the app)
Turn OFF Vibrate under each (Messages, Groups, Calls).
Make sure vibration is switched on in app settings under message notifications
Now you can choose your favourite vibration pattern from phone settings. It was really annoying because when you receive multiple WhatsApp messages the only thing you want to do is throw the phone out the window, now it is way better!!

[Q] [SOLVED] Incoming SMS notification during call

I have searched the internet a few times over the last few weeks and find only the same old, dead threads with poor solutions or seemingly good solutions which have been pulled from the market (such as app called "missed call"), and nothing new, so here goes:
It is a documented Android phenomenon: we hear nothing when a text message comes in while we're on the phone. There is no LED so glancing at the phone from time to time (I use headset) doesn't cut it. I have to try to remember to wake the screen to check from time to time and sometimes I miss time-sensitive messages.
Are there any solutions that I have missed? I don't really want to go the route of BLN, or 3rd party SMS app; I may have to I know. But I do hope there is a way to make this shiny new top-notch device do a basic thing that has been accomplished by every device I have owned since this one

You did not say what exactly the solutions you tried, so I'm not sure if you already did this: go to Settings > Call > Call alert > Alerts on call and set it to sound, or any of your preferred settings.

Oddly enough, i never saw this before. I must have looked in the Sound settings menu 10 times. I'll try it out, thanks. If that fixes it, i wonder why it was off by default in the first place
Edit: It works, thank you.
You're welcome! I'm still very new to all this (android and the SGS2), so I'm looking around my phone, playing with it, trying to figure out things.
On a related note, do you know how to get custom alerts for text messages? I can't figure it out, and I doubt samsung took out that simple feature that's been around since I can remember.

I can see that, but I cannot use other ringtones besides what's pre-installed in the device. That is, if I want to use an MP3 music file as my SMS alert notification, I cannot add that file to the list of SMS alert notifications. Is it really like that?

Ah ok, so what you have to do is go in your "sd card" the built-in memory, not "external sd" and create a folder called "Audio". Inside here you make 3 more folders: "Alarms" "Notifications" & "Ringtones"
You put whatever you want for sms/email, etc in the Notifications folder, it should show up in the list for choosing your sms sound.
Thanks! It took me a while to get back to this thread (been really busy). It works!

I've read that AT&T doesn't currently support the delivery report, so while I haven't seen the options, they are currently moot.

Yes, but I do not use AT & T network (I'm from Russia). I think there is a way to fix it. The hidden menu or somewhere else, like Hotspot.

Ah, I'm sorry I didn't think of that.
I believe it relies on the sms app you use.
Try an alternative like handcent or gosms.
Or maybe you could get the app from another version of the phone, one of the Canadian or global variants.
Not sure if they would have the option, but they might.
I'm on the Canadian jellybean v.3 though

Yeah, the AT&T ICS settings are a little less populated than that.
But that proves that other OG ROMS DO have the option.
Hi again)
As we know ATT SMS prog doesnt support delivery report.
So, can anybody share SMS prog from canadian version to raplace ATT SMSprog?
Thx.:good:
Delivery reports
Hi there,
The stock at&t messaging app is able to request delivery reports. Only, for some reason, this option gets lost sometimes, along with the notification led blinking for missed calls or sms. The solution that worked for me might help you as well, if you are rooted- If you have a system app. Remover or another app that makes it possible to get rid of system apps preinstalled in the phone. Each such application should have the option to back up every system app before uninstall. So, you backup your messaging app. - called lgmsg3.apk (or something like that I might not remember it precisely), then you uninstall it, reboot your device, and through the very same app. - system app remover, you hit restore app and choose the messaging application. It asks you whether it is a system app, you hit yes and here you go delivery reports (under settings, text messages) as well as led blinking for missed events are back!
Hi:
I just did what you said... no it does not work. The version of the software you use is 3.2.31??? The one I have is that and no... it does not work.
I appreciate your help on this if you have any new tip on this.
Thanks

Duplicate emails and Network Notification Sound

There are two main things that are killing me atm...
1. If I send an email to myself on the gmail app I'll get duplicates instead of one... WHY IS THAT!?! i tried everything I can think of to stop it...
2. My phone all of a sudden started doing a audible notification when I do or don't have a network signal and it's driving me nuts... I looked everywhere in setting. I seem to remember a settings where you can shut off the notification sound off. As of now I have "notification sounds" off.
For reference I'm on 5.1.1 thanks for your help in advanced.

Can you provide screenshots it'd help me out.
Are you on stock?
Yes, stock. Not rooted.
I can take screen shots, but don't know how it will help. 2 has been sorta resolved since I left the sound off. I could've swarn i remember a setting before to toggle if you wanted an audible warning if you did or didn't have a mobile connection. The emails do it still but is more random than consistent. It will do it on wifi and mobile data. I think it has to do with sync though.

Well see if its the syncing. With a screenshot I can pinpoint the issue out right away.
That notification sound is an OS issue, while the duplicate mail issue is a Gmail issue, so I would try to maybe:
1. Clear Gmail data from Settings-> Gmail -> Clear data
2. Force a re-sync from Settings-> Accounts -> Google
3. Send yourself an email on the desktop site and see if it still happens. If it does it's a google service issue and not an app issue.
I found a fix. I'm getting a LG V10. Lol... Thanks for the help though anyways.

After switching from Pebble to Android Wear, I have noticed I kept missing notifications. I did not feel the vibration, but when checking the watch later, missed notifications were there.
It turns out that not only is the vibration motor on my SW3 significantly weaker than on my Pebble, most apps also only vibrate for like one millisecond, making them easy to miss.
While there are already apps that try to mitigate this issue, none of them really satisfied my requirements, so I have decided to make my own.
So what does this app do?
Simply put, after Android Wear finishes its puny barely-noticeable vibration, Vibration Center will kick in and do a good shake to your wrist, making sure you absolutely notice this notification. However:
It will do so intelligently (no useless vibrations for notifications that do not actually appear on the watch)
Vibration pattern is customizable and can be set differently for each app
If you are still afraid of missing notifications, you can enable alarm mode that vibrates restlessly until you dismiss it manually. It even comes with the snooze button.
It comes with plenty of spam filter options, making sure that your wrist is not shaken too much
It comes with on-watch mute feature that can either mute all vibrations for some time (for example when in a meeting or in a theater) or it can mute specific app until you deal with it later (for example if you are in group chat and they are having spammy conversation that would otherwise buzz your wrist every half a second)
There is full tasker integration
It is completely free and open source

matejdro, is there another way to donate or help with your project? I've used a pebble before and I'm glad you provided this app. I can now at least recognize my notifications on the watch. Before, I mostly missed them.
If there's nothing I can do to help, I at least wanted to thank you.

Hello,
Thank you for your app. I can have custom pattern vibrations for all my apps except Outlook.
Outlook just sticks to its default watch pattern.
Any idea?
Thanks
Default pattern will always be there (unless you put the watch into do not disturb). Vibration Center will vibrate in addition to default pattern.
Anyways to change the vibration settings on the Facebook Messenger on the watch. It's the watch out not the actual Facebook message on the phone

Matejdro, is there any way for your app to vibrate when the Bluetooth connection to the phone cuts, like out of range?
Nope, but there are a lot of other apps that do this job well.
Not working on my new doogee s90 pro. First time on android 9.
when launching the app it says the service is not running. When I go to settings > vibration center does have notification access.
I can't understand if I'm doing something wrong but can't make work on my TicWatch 3 pro. On MIUI phone I enable all possible permission and notification access

V30 - Suppress navigation during a telephone conversation

When I am traveling with Google Maps enabled, my phone is connected to a bluetooth speakerphone - and if someone calls me - instead of a map, I see who is calling, and then during the conversation, the phone goes blank instead of pointing the road further.
Does anyone know how to remedy this problem? Once I passed the motorway exit and had to make up for over 50 km ...
Can not the information about the caller appear only as a notification and the phone will continue to navigate?

If you wanted to download the Google Phone APK (there are a few different modified versions posted on XDA) you can set that dialer to appear as a bubble notification and disable the stock LG dialer, which should keep it from taking over your screen.
I understand this isnt a solution for fixing the LG dialer, but its still a solution overall so I figured I would reply. Not sure how to get the LG one to only show as a notification but i think its possible. Have you tried going into the LG Dialer Application Settings and Remove or Enable its "Draw Over Other Apps" permissions ? You may just need to give it access (or take it away, depending on which its already set to) in order to keep it from taking over the screen.

I did as you suggested and turned off the ability to draw on other applications for the "call service".
Unfortunately, it does not give anything, because the problem is somewhere else.
In the moment when navigation works and someone calls me - a notification window pops up - and that's OK.

But when I press the "answer" the screen switches completely to the telephone conversation - where every hand approximation to the proximity sensor (accidentally - when you try back to navigation while you driving the car ) will blank the screen, and "always display on" will not work - and the screen will go blank - because the screensaver started working.
Is it impossible to do so that after receiving the call - selected applications will still be displayed and the conversation will be in the background? - So that you do not need to eject the taskbar and manually switch to the navigation, which is dangerous while driving!
Now I'm understanding. I had thought you were trying to avoid the focus switching while the device was ringing.
I think there may be an easy fix for you though. See attached photo. Do you have PIP set to "Yes"?
