My phone is not recognized by PCs, when I put it on it only charges, but if I put any memory or flash drive on it it recognizes it and lets me copy files, which rules out a damaged port, does anyone know a solution to this?

Hey guys,
I'm trying to boot a PC from my Atrix SD card, to be able to access various testing and backup tools. I have these on a USB drive now, but I would love to be able to have them all waiting and ready on my phone. I have made the SD card bootable, and confirmed that it works by booting off of it plugged directly into the computer. However, no matter what I try, The computer will not boot when the Atrix is plugged in as a USB hard drive. Has anyone been able to do this or have any ideas?

I've not tried it, but I think the Atrix is seeing the computer restarting and taking itself out of usb drive mode until it sees a connection on the usb, then goes back in, which is too late for the bios to see it as bootable. Just my theory.

No, the computer recognizes it as 2 bootable devices, both of them named "Motorola MB860". I assumed that one was the internal drive and the other was the microSD. However, no matter which one I pick, it does not boot from it.
Bump. Anyone have any other idea's?

After some reflexion my conclusion is I dont knoow why but it seems that the phone think that the internal sd card card is my micro sd card and vice versa .
P.S.: it is normal to have the folder androide.secure on the ext_sdcard but not on sdcard?

Does the computer even detect that you have anything connected to the computer?
My android.secure folder is on (internal) sdcard. The ext_sdcard does not have that folder present.
Are you booted in fastboot?
yes but it detect a unrecognize usb device. And i think that fastboot is on in speedrom 7.5 but I put the old htc setting and disable it but it did nothing.
Hello guys. I need to recover lost files which was on SGS 3's internal memory. I have software on PC which could recover them, but I could not connect phone as usb drive to PC. Anyone knows how to solve this problem?
thank you.
Search the exact same question asked multiple times .
Install USB drivers .

Are you sure that I can mount internal SD card as USB flash disk to PC after installing USB drivers?
No you can't. There is no ums mode anymore so the phone will not show up on your pc as a drive with a driveletter. Your recovery programs will not be able to recover.
If the files are on sd card you can try undelete or stick the sd in the pc to recover.

Any one know how to fix this? or why it won't detect the device on USB 3.0?
USB 2.0 seems to detect and I can copy pictures onto my computer, but I can not copy or cut them from one spot on the SD card to another through the windows OS. i.e. trying to move pictures from the 'camera' folder to a different folder on the phone's SD card.
Thanks!
Aloha.
Troubleshoot;
LG drivers installed
Does the cable support what you're wanting to do(try another USB )
Under developer settings make sure USB debugging is turned off.
These were the first things I checked when I had the same issue and just changed everything ?
Hope this helps.

ive ran into this a lot, its usually the usb cord
thank you both. I wish I could try to fix this right now. My V10 just gave me the boot loop of death. I've tried everything. it's toast. going to be putting in for a new one on Monday. (tear).
I was going to suggest.. Activating "Developer Options" in system settings, go to USB and click choosing MTP or whatever. I noticed most newer ROM versions have this annoying issue, mine never stays after a reboot either...
Hi.
I couldn't find a specific Nano thread with issues so post it here as I am using with my P30P.
I got a Nano memory card + official Huawei USB reader so I could transfer my music and other things before my phone arrived.
When I connect the reader the laptop is detected and shows 2 drives - nano mem and standard sd - however my laptop just does not detect the nano memory when it is in the reader.
The drive letter stays greyed out.
I do not find anything online about this specific issue, I wondered if I would need to format it in my phone first but that doesn't make a difference.
Anyone have issues?
(in the end I copied my files laptop>usb stick>phone USB C connector > file manager to copy and paste but it was an extra step I could do without).
Try looking at the card in disk management in admin tools

Yup, I tried this but no luck.
It's odd, the usb stick works with normal SD, the nano works in my phone fine but doesn't get detected in the stick.
I can't try in another laptop as my work one has USB drives blocked
Wonder if the nano card uses an unknown file format. Will probably need to be formatted in the phone. When my note 4 originally came out, that's what I had to do.

Yeah I wondered this too, I'll try it again and see if it picks it up.
Will also try my old Teclast dual boot tablet and if it can detect in windows via USB OTG to the reader.
