Okay so I have installed drivers, I have flashed phones before so I know my way around the system somewhat. But when it comes down to this Evo 3D, it is impossible for me to do, I swear! I have looked all over for the past 2-3 days and haven't found anything.
Closest I have come is right here ... And the problem is the EFS file browser.
I am running 2.08.651.2 rooted unlocked stock RUU. I try to drag/drop the file "0" and "1943" to my desktop and it doesnt work, gives me error code 222 in QPST... Any help??
Update!
Okay so I found out that I need to downgrade the HBoot to get "S-OFF" so that I can edit the radio... Everyone knows that's a fun process! Well I can't find any windows guides, other than this one ... And my phone gets stuck in a boot loop after having to exit the recovery twice... Not sure why. But I can't get the "temp root" to flash the old HBoot version.
I have heard that there is another way to do it through Linux, which I am unfamiliar with, but it doesn't work through VirtualBox? This process involves "bricking" your phone I guess, not sure about that one....
If anyone can help please do, I will be eternally grateful!
make sure you usin qpst build 366 I had problems with that to. This is the guide I used I just did it like 3 days ago everything works great.http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/460035-evo-4g-boost-mobile-guide-evo-3d.html
I had my 3d running perfect on boost until i decided to S-OFF my device. I am also getting Error 222 which i never got before when i first did it last year. Is there a specific radio i need to flash? i am using qpst build 366

Okay I am going to try to find 2.7 Build 366.... I had build 355. Also does it matter if I do that rooting with the HTCEvo3DNew.zip? Because it gets stuck in a boot loop every time, and you are using the same guide that I am using also so that's good.

You need to edit your APNs.
Go to settings -> Mobile Network -> APNs
To find them, just do a Google search for APNs for your network.
For example, "Sprint APN" or "Rogers APN"
And next time, if you have a question unrelated to the post topic, make a new thread or search for it.

I'm new here and I need help.
Please if anyone can guide me on how to downgrade my phone from Kitkat 4.4.2 to Jellybean.
My nephew upgraded it for me and few days after I noticed my mobile data was not working anymore. Second I noticed was Bluetooth, it wasn't working either. I ignored it because I coud still use wifi, but a week ago it also gave up. My phone also restarts on its own.
I asked some tech and I was told it was because of the upgrade that is why I want to downgrade. Anyone who can assist me please? Or any solution that you know. I am not sure myself if the problem was caused by the upgrade. I tried checking videos on youtube on how to downgrade but I;m scared to brick my phone. I am not sure about the correct files to download and that sort of stuff.
PLEASE help.
I just want my phone working.
I tried to root my phone
by following a video on
YouTube and I think it's
already rooted.

Well, nope I don't think now you can downgrade your device from KitKat to JellyBean not possible at all because the boot loader may have been upgraded and if you even try downgrading the device by rooting your device it may results in bricking up. I would say rather than moving forward with the downgrading better would be to stay with the KitKat and keep your fingers crossed for the next update to fix most of your problems.

Depends on which variant of the S4 that you have. Some versions have ways to do a modded downgrade (not official via Odin like the good ole days...), but in general it's more trouble and risk than it is worth.
Thank you for your time and suggestions. I'd just want to add that my phone overheats even when it's off. And it also doesn't turn on anymore unless I connect the charger. I think its dying.

Did he update the phone officially or custom rom? By OTA or from the computer? I would reset the device and reinstall the latest firmware via Odin on the PC. If it was done via OTA, that can cause some odd issues, especially if the download was not 100% or reset during the process. It's always a good idea to reset when updating major versions, despite what the manufacturers tell you. I see it all the time at my shop and during my many many hours here on XDA researching and helping others.

Since you don't know exactly what or how it was done, it might be a good idea to post a screenshot of the About Phone section for us so we can see which update, if it's official, and all that.

What region are you using the phone in? It looks like the firmware is from Romania. Not that it couldn't work other places, but sometimes it works best to use a firmware and modem meant for the area you are using the phone in... Stranger things have happened.

I am in the Philippines and I don't know what firmware my nephew used.
I found video on youtube and did the same to my phone but nothing happened. I flashed my modem, it says on youtube, modem wifi fix, did it twice but didn't work. I also tried custom kernel but was getting error.
I don't know what to do anymore. It's just really very sad for a very expensive smartphone to not work. Bluetooth, mobile data and wifi are all not working. It doesn't turn on as well if you remove the battery unless you connect a charger.

I flashed my modem twice tonight, found a video on youtbe about modem wifi fix and it didn't work too. Custom kernel didn't work as well as I was getting an error.
It's getting depressing, I don't know what to do anymore. It's just that, it's an expensive smartphone without mobile data, bluetooth and wifi. It doesn't turn on as well if you remove the battery unless you connect a charger.

What happens when you try to toggle data? Does it turn on and right back off or does the switch to move to on not slide over or is greyed out?
I might try using Odin to install the Phillipines firmware, which you can find here:
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/update-gal...xxufnbe-android-4-4-2-kitkat-firmware-1439096
It won't make it worse anyway...
You may need to use Odin3_v3.12_PrinceComsy
- G930UUEU4BQD2_G930UOYM4BQD2_ATT.zip
Thanks a bunch! I've been trying to download it with no success
Thank you. Time to tinker again...haha
Yeah I'm gonna get this rooted and hopefully get some performance back after UPDATE: i rooted successfully but after i tried to fix the fingerprint sensor issue my phone would only boot to recovery and download mode so i flashed to stock
It turns out that when I flashed those files it kept trying to activate my phone on the sprint network instead of att and also it made my settings go wonky so I'm downloading the u firmware with the att product code again because it messed it all up
Just a heads up, I was unable to get the EngBoot Kernel working on this ROM. It would reboot on its own every 2-3 minutes. I spent about 6 hours on this until I gave up and flashed the ATT ROM and then EngBoot. That worked just fine (except for the performance issues).

Can you link to ATT Nougat EngBoot rom? I wanted to upgrade to Nougat, wipe, and then get Nougat EngBoot rom on their, but I don't want to use Sprint or whatever that other carrier was. (Prefer to use ATT on ATT devices, ya know?)

I don't know if it will make any difference but I would try the t-mo version to match your device.
Help!!! I went ahead and flashed the TMO version of the 930u code. I downloaded the ZIP. Placed all the right files in the correct place in Odin (comsey odin) and finished the process. The phone didn't reboot even though reboot was checked. Now I'm in a boot loop. Help!!
Update:. For it to work after flashing a second time. Not sure what happened the first time.

Hi:
Newbie here, so please bear with me. I am fairly techie, but never really worked on phones (I'm a Windows / Network engineer by trade).
I had an S6 Edge on the Vodafone network, and live in an area with poor cell coverage. So, I fully took advantage of wifi calling. I've upgraded to the S8 (gorgeous phone, BTW) so I gave the device to my missus, who made the mistake of buying an EE iPhone, and hates it.
We unlocked the phone to the EE network, but the wifi calling option has vanished, and I've been told that this is by design, as only phone purchased directly from EE have wifi calling enabled.
Been looking around, and have seen that if we root the phone and flash it with an EE image, then things should be hunky dory. However, having never undertaken a project like this on a phone, I'm seeking some guidance, as I don't want to completely brick the device.
Are there any idiot-proof step-by-step guides on here to do this?
Cheers in Advance

It's actually a lot simpler than you think. No need to root all you have to do is flash the EE firmware through Odin (Samsung flashing tool) and voila, EE Wi-Fi calling will appear. Also volte will be available too.
If you need step by step I can help.
I need model number and android version and I can link you the firmware.

Hey dude.... after trolling through this forum some more, I was able to find what I needed to flash the firmware onto the device... However, Wi-Fi calling (as an option) does not seem to appear yet, but I wonder if that is due to the lack of SIM card (wife put it back in her iPhone, so I could sort this at work.
If I've downloaded the wrong stuff, then I'm happy to redo.

When you downloaded the firmware was there 5 files in the zip? Or just the one AP file?
Did you look in phone app > settings then scroll to bottom for Wi-Fi calling option? If you flashed an EE firmware it should be there mate.
As well as the EE firmware you need to have the EE csc. You have this csc, EVR?

Heya.... no such "issues" so to speak. Just one where my baby kicked the USB cable, causing a brief disconnect during the flashing process. This, of course, sent me into a spiral of panic because the entire phone crashed, with errors, recovery messages invoking Smart Switch, and the like. However, restarting the phone and connecting it to Odin completely recovered the phone.
Initially, the flashing worked, but it didn't enabled Wi-Fi calling, so I reset the phone back to factory settings, flashed it again and voila!!!! Worked like a charm! Then restored the backup from Smart Switch that I made yesterday, and the missus now has a full functional EE phone with Wi-Fi calling.
Thanks very much for your help mate.... you're a legend.
I'm gonna keep Odin, as it seems like a great recovery tool as well. :good:

Does anyone know how to downgrade the firmware on the 8 flip? I updated my firmware on Sunday and my phone won't connect to my service provider now. Sim card works in other phones and the only thing that changed was updating from v.110 to v.119.
Any suggestions to fix the issue or downgrade the firmware will be helpful.

Try to download the firmware zip from the support page and flash it in recovery
Tried to update from SD card in recovery. Got no file or directory. Failed to mount SD card and installation aborted.
OK so I was able to use the Android 12 to Android 11 update from Asus to move back the firmware. Popped in the sim,, no luck.
It weird considering the Sim works fine on a pixel 2 xl. Carrier device blacklist maybe?
I have a similar issue as well. Wifi and Bluetooth on my zenfone 8 flip stopped working. I've unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. I read somewhere that mac.txt should be found in <root>/config/wifi/ but it is not there. I recently updated OTA when this happened. I cannot seem to flash rom via adb as well.
I was hoping to use TWRP but it only support Zenfone 8. Zenfone 8 flip is not on the list (yet).

What did you use to get your boot.img? I may also have the files. I think what I used gave all the files from the update patch.
It turns out my problem was service provider. I have decided my IMEI was black listed by AT&T. I use MVNO and straight talk cut my service, the following weeks I noticed that other AT&T MVNOs (Boost, US cellular, etc.) were not allowing my IMEI even though they did the week before. I switched to Mint (T-Mobile MVNO) seems to work fine.

I used payload_dumper from github. Installed python on my PC and ran it
So I used the payload dumper go. Someone made an all in one script that dumps an image of everything so I have a Bluetooth and modem images. Try that. It's a script that runs on its own, for some reason I was having issues with the python script so the .exe was just easier than troubleshooting.
