total plunker de-activated Gboard ! ! ! [solved] - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys and girls
i was messing around with my phone and some how stopped gboard from working after android starts. this means that i cant enter my password, and am stuck at the lock screen.
i have adb+fastboot, and if a start the phone in recovery mode the phone is listed with "adb devices" but not authorized "adb: connect error for write: device unauthorized" , so i cant get my data off and factory reset and i cant install another keyboard program
i also tried entering the password using this methord -> https://stackoverflow.com/questions...ocked-phone-when-password-contains-as-first-c
is there a better way for me to enter my password via adb ?? or something else i can do to regain access ?
any suggestions are welcomed.
ps. its a ulefone armor x3 with Mediatek MT6580 chip set. phone is stock, never rooted. OTG not supported, no debugging enabled.
cheers

hi not_rich
thank you for the reply
i did already do that, and the keyboard did install, but is not activated.
let me clarify exactly what happens when i start the phone, so as to give you a better idea.
when i switch the phone on and it boots up i have to enter my password which works, then i have to enter the sim card password which works, then i have to re-enter the first password again for android to unlock. it is on the second occasion that the password dosent work and i am locked out. the keyboard dosent pop up, and i cant tap the keys.

Is your data important or a working phone?
Boot into fastboot mode if possible using following combination
Credits: HardReset
At first switch off the device by holding the Power key for a few seconds.
After that press and push Volume Up and Power buttons together for a short while.
Let go of all keys when Boot Mode pops up.
Now select "Fastboot" by using Volume Up to scroll down and Volume Down to confirm that.
Now open command prompt window on your computer and make sure you have fastboot drivers installed.
Then type fastboot erase userdata
Your phone will reset.

If your data is important then we can backup your firmware first and then flash it back to the phone.

You mentioned in your original post that usb debugging is turned off, afaik you need it turned on and able to access the phone because you get a security prompt on the phone.
It seems with fastboot you dont need usb debugging, that seems the only option, I am no expert on fastboot as I have only used it once.

thank you mvikrant97
i'm using fastboot version 28.0.2-debian
but i dont think the fetch command is installed !
what commant should i use ?

Broken touchscreen: How type in device encryption password? Edit fstab?

Hello there,
sorry, if this is the wrong forum for my problem. Please feel free to move the topic
My touchscreen is not functional.
I was able to use TWRP and backup all data with this help. This is a rooted device and is accessible via "adb shell" etc. in recovery.
My device is encrypted with one pin and locked with another. However, I am not able to enter the device encryption pin. adb is also not working on the screen where I have to type in the device encryption pin DURING the boot (not after). Is says:
Code:
> adb devices
List of devices attached
???????????? no permissions
I googled a hell out of it and am not able to find a solution. Please help me

So you mean install team viewer apk via adb in recovery and than try to type in the password from another device?
Is team viewer already activated during the boot? The device encryption pin screen appears during the boot. I think there are no apps loaded till then.
Here is the screen I am talking about:

Have you looked into using a OTG adapter/Cable and connect a keyboard to the phone, Or even a mouse and see if you can get some functionality?
The mouse may let you navigate the interface, But not guaranteed.
The keyboard may atleast let you type the pin in, Also not guaranteed.
It's worth a shot though to say the least, Good luck!
Yes you can get an otg adaptor and connect mouse or keyboard it has to work
Thanks for the USB OTG hint! I will probably not be able to get an USB OTG cable soon (long time traveler).. So at least for now it is not an option.
I found a solution to activate USB debugging by manipulating the files manually. It probably will work as soon as I get to the lock screen but it doesn't work for the device encryption pin screen. I am getting the same "no permissions" message.
Anyway, is it the right approach to get adb to work on that screen? Would it somehow help to have adb/USB debugging support there? Will it help or open a new way to type in the password?
Another option would be to somehow deposit the pin somewhere in the system. It is a linux after all. There will be some kind of an fstab file for file system mounts which can be edited with the right password. We would need to disable the screen in that situation. Has someone done anything like this before?
Thanks!
A small update on this issue for people who are facing the same issue.
USB OTG worked for me with a wired mouse. I was able to enter the pin and use the phone normally.
It didn't work with an wireless one. When I plugged in a wireless mouse the pin display showed in previous posts disappears!
Hope this will help someone someday

Aquaris X can't access developer options

The whole phone seems to be in some sort of "simple mode", most applications like play store are non existent. The settings seem to be much simpler, without options such as "install from unknown sources" etc. I can't even enable bluetooth or browse my files. I wanted to enable USB debugging to flash a new costum rom, but I can't turn on the developer options.
I also cannot enter the fastboot or recovery mode.
Please help.

I just bought one too, hoping to replace my now aging BQ Aquaris X5 as a daily driver ...
It's really frustrating - it's like the OS is crippled/locked.
Power + Vol Up loads up a different Android OS, requires a f*****ng long password which you set after factory reset for full-disk encryption ...
There is no fastboot, no developer options, a lot of things are restricted.
The phone just beeps and reboots if you try to enter any system mode using key combinations.
I have a Moto X Style/Pure, which I unbricked using a loader image on an SD card to boot into fastboot/recovery, can the same be applied here? It's not as if it's hard bricked ...
Can anyone with a working BQ Aquaris X/X Pro create a loader image? Thanks in advance!
Looks like the bootloader has been overwritten with something custom. People around the internet suggested it's EncronChat OS or EncronSomething.
Anyway, if I can boot it in EDL I guess I'll be able to force flash anything.
I can order a "deep flash" or "EDL" cable from AliExpress, but there's a chance it might not work as other people have reported.
Does anyone know where the test points are located?

Start Error in Pixel Experince, by Boot.img flashed by Fastboot (phone almost brick).

Hello friends, I hope you are well. I am writing to everyone to see if anyone can help me with this big problem.
Yesterday install the Rom Pixel Experience, all good, all the steps to perfection and others, had microSD at that time so flash the boot.img by Fastboot. It seems to install the Boot.img in the Recovery TWRP partition, or something like that. Because I do not have the Recovery either, when I try to go to the recovery, the window "Bootloader Unlocked" appears, but it does not take me anywhere, only to the boot of the rom, it is something very strange and the truth scares me. I clarify: I can not access the Fastboot, nor the download mode, nor the recovery, because it does not.
There will be another way: ????
PLEASE IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME, FIND ANOTHER METHOD TO ENTER THE FASTBOOT OR DOWNLOAD MODE, THE SOLUTION THAT WORKS WILL PAY ME WELL TO THE PROPONGA, PLEASE, I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE MY MOBILE, I BUY IT WITH A LOT OF EFFORT.
Last night I dawned on the boot logo, until it was completely downloaded and at this moment it continues to do so ... By GOD!
When trying to enter the Fastboot or download mode, it takes me here:

Then he starts loading the rom and stays there all the time .:

I can not access Fastboot, nor download mode, nor recovery, because it has disappeared. There will be another way to enter the Fastboot or download mode, because the phone actually woke up until I wake up today and was even charged. PLEASE.
Hey, sorry for your sad state. Following process worked for me when I got stuck yesterday like that.
1. Connect your phone to PC ( make sure adb/fast boot is setup)
2. Hard reboot your phone with power plus volume down button.
3. As soon as your phone turns off, press volume down only and keep it pressed till you enter fastboot.
4. After this phone should be recognised in PC and you should be able to boot in TWRP using fastboot.

Hope this works for you @Yeriorlando. @gimpy1 had a similar issue when installing Havoc ROM. Part of the problem seems to be when installing the custom kernel?
gimpy1 said:
It was operator error (generally is) on my part, I'm sure. The only thing I did different that I can remember is installing the 9.0 boot image in twrp differently. I installed it in the recovery option first (intentionally, should not have), instead of ticking only the boot choice. I did not untick the recovery option (should have never ticked it in the first place, but I was trying to correct a problem on the ROM, and misread a post).

IF you still can't after the suggestion at top, maybe @SGCMarkus or @runningnak3d have some tips?
Unless you have an H932, then if you get the error that: "Your device software can't be checked for corruption" then you have fastboot. It is literally impossible to have that message on a WTF rooted phone and NOT have working fastboot.
So, as @ZestyManu said -- make *sure* your phone is powered off. If you have to let, the battery die. Then hold vol down + plug in the USB cable (no need to touch the power button) and you will enter fastboot.

Thank you all. I have solved the problem in a super crazy way, to pure ADB, not fastboot .... Pure ****ing adb ... Hehehehe. Thanks to @ChazzMatt

How to turn off developer options without access - Hisense A5

Hello,
sorry, I am new and have tried to find a solution but I couldnt.
Because I was looking to find a way to change black background of some apps to white, I enabled developer
mode on my Hisense A5, which I bought from CECT-Shop with the multi-language ROM and Google Services pre-installed.
The version it showed before I was stuck was: L1657.6.03.02.00
Trying things, I also enabled "Color Blind Mode", which led to weird looking lines and things and me not being able to shut this mode off again.
Now I am stuck and when doing a re-start, I also get lines all over the screen and cannot see anything, or it just shows the Hisense Logo.
I might have also deleted all user data when trying to enter save mode and messing with all the Chinese buttons.
Tried to get into save mode and other things, but this didn't work or help, even though I used a translator to understand all the Chinese buttons.
Do you have any suggestions how to turn off the Color Blind Mode or the developer mode without being able to access the phone?
Or do I need to re-install somehow?
Thanks,
Dennis

Okay, thanks. No other chance to turn off developer issues?
I tried both methods with the microSD and via USB cable. However, for the Card, it says "mount sdcard device error: No such file or directory". I had reduced the size of a 128Gig card to 16 Gig and formatted it with FAT32. I also tried with full card in exFAT formatted. It then said: mount sdcard device error: invalid argument.
Then I tried via USB, installed the driver and QPST. The device shows up as a removable memory but it doesnt show in the QPST as an active phone. Any ideas what to do?
Maybe I do not have the correct USB driver? I tried several that I found on the web. But from the list in the guidelines that you sent, I couldnt identify the one for the A5: getdroidtips.com/download-hisense-usb-drivers/

Thanks for all your help. I retried to wipe user data and that did it.
When translating the buttons, it came up that I should push volume-up. Did this and now I have the international rom again, that I had before, but user data is wiped.
For the ones of you in need of doing the same:
1) Push Power and volume down at the same time
then this comes up:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(I have added a translation overlay for the button)
2) Select the second/middle Chinese language button with volume keys - then hit power
this brings up:
(I have added a translation overlay for the headline)
3) Push volume up and wait. After some minutes, it should bring up the regular lock screen and you can reconfigure your phone.
The third step is where I always tried to hit the Chinese language button because I couldnt translate it. Now that I managed to translate full headline, I realized that this is probably only the escape button and you need to push volume up.
Thanks for all your support!

Oppo A51w encryption unsuccessful, help

I have an Oppo A51w (Oppo Mirror 5) that I just reset to factory settings, out of nowhere when I restared the phone after that it shows encryption unsuccessful, and a reset phone button, which I couldn't press.
Going into ColorOS recovery mode, I tried wiping data and cache, but wiping data doesn't work because it says I have no space it needs at least 250mb, but I remember the phone does have plenty of space, more than 7gbs, so I don't get why it shows that.
As for fastboot mode it doesn't really do anything other than show its starting logo and text and it turns off? Is there anything else I'm supposed to do I'm not sure?
Anything I could do to get past the encryption screen? I don't mind having to fully reset the phone or flash it but I might need a guide.
There is also an install from sd option in the recovery mode, if somehow it can be fixed from there then please help me with that.
The android version is 5.1.1 and ColorOS 2.1.0i
The version that shows on the ColorOS recovery is 1.2
Android 5.1 is too old. I am not sure which fastboot commands are supported for this version but you can try this even if Fastboot works for few seconds.
fastboot -w
fastboot erase userdata
If the fastboot method does not work then you need to find a MSM Download tool and correct firmware for your device model and flash it.

Does this need USB debugging? I don't have it enabled and can't enable it because I can't get past the encryption screen.
I tried using MSM download tool but for some reason it won't detect my phone and I'm not sure which usb driver to use and how to install it.
The phone also isn't rooted.
Update:
The phone is now stuck on boot loop. I tried to flash it from sd card using stock rom from the official website, without wiping data first because it wasn't possible (needs 250mb of storage space even though there IS enough free space). It said it was successful, but after rebooting it just gets stuck on boot loop.
- for adb I'd need usb debugging? Which can't be enabled
- the phone isn't rooted, so no cwm
- msm download tool I tried, v4 and v5 doesn't work it says "Packed image not exist" but v1.6.7 does? except even it won't detect the phone, and the rom that i downloaded for that from a different source had different phone model options which i do not recognize (oppo15008.bin etc and rawprogram0_MSM_15070.xml) so I'm not sure which one to choose. Maybe I haven't installed the driver but I don't know which to install and how to.
I really have no experience with this and just tried different guides on the internet to get the phone working. For now I don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated.
Your device seems to have Qualcomm chipset so it can be repaired in the EDL mode (9008). Search google "unbrick oppo a51w". It will give you all info you need to fix this.
If your device is not detected even after installing correct drivers, then you need to use Test Point method (shorting JTAG pins) to access EDL mode. This step needs expertise to short correct pins, if your attempts fail then your best option is the Oppo service center.

Is there any reason why you can't get this repaired in the Oppo service center?
