Is there another way to improve the performance of the stock firmware apart from:
- Removing the bloatware
- Disabling as much as possible the parameters in android setting (of course it is based on the usage)
Or
- Overclocking?
- Changing the kernel?

For Core UI ( Firmware of SM-T22X) is hard for completely debloat. One effected to another , may cause " boot infinite" .
For me even make a changes to kernel is too much ( have a headache).
Then try to test new ROM , new kernel , new GSIs (BY Developer) but not for you . ( I 'm not a developer.) You may be good at more than me.
And no free adjustable rom in here. You must do it yourself.
I tried debloat but not method
So i using Gsi

there is pretty decent cm 13 in dev thread ... actually i am using it and i am overall happy with it except some minor things.
for root:
there's so many things you can do with root, a few things important to me:
- root most likely also means you have custom twrp, with twrp you can completely backup your device to have a safe return to point
- better battery stats
- xposed with all its modules
- titanium backup to have individual app backups completely with all data
- freeze/disable/remove system apps
- cpu adjustments
- firewall
- proxy
- adaway
- tasker
xposed is one of best adventages of rooting. adblock, all cool mods etc...

I can use the custom kernel with any stock rom version?
B370, B380 etc
i used the digigoon kernel with b380... there hasn't been any major change from b330 onwards, so i assume b330 to 380 is safe. however it's always good to get a backup before flashing kernels.

Did you root using the XDA guide?
I just hate the fact that my data will be lost after unlocking the bootloader, that's the only thing that's stopping me
rooted like this:
- download newest super su zip file
- transfer to sd
- reboot to twrp
- install from zip
- select super su zip
- install
- no wipe
- done
( you can also look at digigoons pure emui rom which has aroma installer, where you can have several options with the best mods available for emui on honor 7 )

Yeah but you had to unlock the bootloader right?
For me most advantages about rooting/twrp are:
-Installing BusyBox
-Viper4Android (you'll need 3rd part music app to hear the changes, stock have DTS sound)
-Changing Calendar dates to my language like Ataasinngorneq (Monday) (Greenlandic is not an option in language settings)
-Xposed to use Softkeys Fade mod, double tap notification to turn off screen (after installing Xposed, booting takes time, be patient, took little over 5 mins)
-Installing Kernel Adiutor
I'm using stock PLK-L01 B370.
I always do it in that order.
Root access has become a must for all my devices
Here's my use/advantages of root access:
-First of all, I use Greenify that has the functionality of close every app in the background, even system apps. This with root access, Greenify can works in background while I'm doing something else with the phone. With this app, my battery last longer.
-I use custom recovery, witch allow me to flash mods that requires root. I use mods to increase the phone's performance and adblocker like AdAway, blocking ads also make browser loading faster and uses less data because I don't load any ad. Other useful mods are sound mods like Dolby Atmos or Viper, that boost sound volume and quality, increasing the experience of sound on our devices.
-Full control of the the phone. With root access I can use Kernel Auditor in order to monitor and control my phone's CPU, memory usage etc..
-Xposed Framework. I don't think it needs explaination, it would be also too long ?
-Use of substratum, with this app I can customize more the phone, change navigation bar, boot animation, system sounds.
-There are countless things you can do with root access, on XDA you will keep finding out new and amazing mods and things that requires root!
Hello everyone,
Galaxy J 2016 comes with much more bloatware than most other phones, it has apps preinstalled that some of us probably will never use.
Some of those apps may even run at boot and consume RAM and CPU. For this purpose I made a small very effective script and that will remove huge amount of applications. This script works on de-odexed and odexed ROMs and you can use it even for official Nougat ROMs after it is released , so this is ALL-IN-ONE solution.
I created the script when Marshmallow came out and I use it all the time without any problems.
* You can easily edit script and add character ' # ' to exclude certain APP from deleting

I don't believe it would work on an N because the firmware I used is specifically for an F/DS device. Has it even been released on the N yet?
The vendor needed for Android Pie *is* included, as is modem, kernel, etc.

Yes I have objection.
You can not use my modified images. You want to make your own then there is one thread in geneneral section. Get pie beta on your device and then dump it yourself.
Its my request to remove my work and meanwhile you make your own, remove the link.
chrisaw said:
Description
I really love this new Android 9.0 beta from Samsung with the One UI. I also really love DevBase!
With that in mind - I've created PieBase which is simply a combination of:
- Latest DevBase release (from here - thanks _alexndr)
- Latest Magisk release (from here - thanks topjohnwu)
- Latest Samsung Pie firmware (from here - thanks drketan)
If anyone takes offence to this ROM for any reason - please let me know and I'll take it down immediately. As soon as official DevBase is released - I'll remove this post and direct any visitors to his thread. I'm not even remotely interested in stealing people away from DevBase - it's an awesome ROM - just looking to fill the void for now.
SafetyNet Pass
In order to get SafetyNet to pass with Magisk you will need to:
Download Busybox magisk module
Download MagiskHide Props Config magisk module
Reboot your device
Download and open a terminal app of your choice
Switch to root by entering the "su" command
Enter "props" then enter: 1, f, 13, 24, y, y
Once your device has done rebooting - you should now be passing SafetyNet. The reason this is needed is simply because beta versions of Samsung ROMs never pass SafetyNet so we're claiming to be an 8.0 running device to Google so they'll pass us as running a known Samsung ROM.
Warnings
App names and dependencies have changed around a lot in this release so your old configs likely wont work!
You are welcome to try to attempt to dirty flash this ROM but it's VERY likely you will need to clean flash (sorry!)
If you have a /sdcard/devbase directory - rename this before flashing.
If you have a /sdcard/options.prop file - rename this before flashing.
This ROM is for F/DS ONLY!!!

Xperia XZ1 G8341 Vanilla AOSP ROM
This is my first ROM and its fully Vanilla. I Just followed this Build guide without any modifications whatsoever.
The future goal is to build a stable Rom with mostly FOSS Software, stability and useful tools/settings.
Bugs/missing functions i discovered so far:
- Camera Not working always and -> Lens Distortion. Although RAW should be possible.
- Sony Bootlogo has some Artifacts
- No automatic APN setting
- No NFC 25.05 working
- No 90/120Hz mode (or does it?)
- No Display Colour Calibration
- Low Singlethread Geekbench Score (836) and (6060 Multicore) [Governors and schedulers not optimized]
Fingerprint Sensor is working and it takes some time to find Network (not sure if bug or normal).
I hope to find usable answers to those problems + ideas and hope, to receive enough feedback to improve as much as possible.
Just Flash all files (boot, recovery [or any working TWRP], system, vendor, userdata and the OEM Binaries [

There is little to nothing about this I could find for the xz1 except one oreo based rom. I have to compile the kernel for it and find out if 60+ hz is really working and how to succesfully implement a toggle option for it. Since im new at this it might take some time without help but its something I want to impliment.
The Xz1s Display obviously is really underperforming in non Sony roms without the "Bravia engine" (colour apperence) imo compared to other open roms. I tried the Bravia magisk module but could not see any difference (also did not checked what it should do at system level).
So if someone has more knowledge feel free to share
I compiled a Kernel from here and modified:
arch/arm64/boot/dts/qcom/dsi-panel-somc-poplar-base-sde.dtsi
arch/arm64/boot/dts/qcom/dsi-panel-somc-poplar-sde.dtsi
arch/arm64/boot/dts/qcom/dsi-panel-somc-poplar.dtsi
(changed 60hz to 90/120hz).
How can I check if the Panel really is working under those frequencies and if other steps are needed?
When compiling I got an Error with drivers/staging/wlan-qc/qcacld-3.0 -> so i removed them from drivers/staging/Kconfig (So apparently no Wifi).
These are the Kernels (boot):
90Hz
*Update 29.05. I Fixed Wifi for the 120Hz version. link in first post
Camera seems to work without problems (also Raw) so I guess there is something wrong with the precompiled Sony Kernel.
Also the Sony bootlogo is not present (no artifakts??)
And again. Flash at own risk.
What about the version for two SIM cards?
Model G8342.
Your rom works perfect on my phone, thanks dev.

Try flashing the last stock rom > same result?
If not try flashing any gsi > result?

6. Z-Rom
7. Infinity OS v1
Kernels

2. Minker 14.6 (Magisk 19.3)
3. Quantum v1
4. Quantum v2 (Magisk 19.3)
5. UltimateQ_v1
What ROM do you use?

Infinity ROM
However, when Ultimate Q S20 gets updated to port 7, I will move back to it.
I like roms that balance functions with debloating
Roms like Zrom are heavily debloated and are very smooth
Infinity rom is debloated and smooth
S20 port is slightly debloated and smooth. Every Samsung function works on S20 port. Link to PC, SmartSwitchBackUp, Samsung Cloud Restore, Project to PC screen, game plugins, Battery Statistics in DeviceHealthCare etc,Galaxy store etc. These functions are usually not on the other roms. Adding them from apkmirror or apkpure does not work. They simply refuse to function correctly once added even to the root folders.

Or try out Infinity Rom. No hiccups so far apart from the camera that can be fixed by replacing 2 files and rebooting the phone.

I haven't used stock for ages
@physwizz Neither have I but rebasing your preferred ROM over the top of a later stock ROM gives you a later modem, bootloader etc. that may have some improved qualities....... or not. All the partition updates you don't get from custom ROMs.....
So I am asking if anyone has updated to A205YNDVU5BTG1 and found anything good, bad or indifferent? Certainly the modem needs a helping hand to get better reception quality / range....
