Disclaimer: This is an experimental build making use of a 4.4 kernel port. While everything has worked well in my testing, you use this at your own risk and are responsible for anything that goes wrong.
known Issues:
- Selinux is permissive
- Date and time reset to build date on boot
- USB PD charging is untested.
- It's likely that you'll need to reboot just once after installation to get VOLTE to work.
FAQ:
What gapps should I use?: I've been using MindTheGapps and it works just fine

Enjoy Android 13 on the Pixel XL
Great!!!
I don't have a Pixel XL but really excited to see this device not really died on Android 11!
Since even Xiaomi's msm8996 devices got Android 13 ROMs, the most developer friendly Pixels should really not just stop on Android 11
Nice, i will test it THX.
Wow...wow..this is just...wow... @npjohnson
Thanks a lot! Brother!
Looking forward to testing it. Thanks for the hard work.
Thank you and congratulations @rootfan for this! This is a tremendous feat! In my test the rom installed nicely with LineageOS recovery (for Android 11). The only thing that didn't work for me was the installation of GApps. I tried both MindTheGapps and NikGApps (the core flavor), and got errors both times (MindTheGapps complained about not being able to mount system and NikGApps reported there was no space available). The rom on its own, however, runs very smoothly and everything I tested seemed to work very nicely. If you could provide a brief installation instruction with the preferred recovery for the rom, that would be even smoother! Thank you again for keeping this old wheezing beast of a phone alive.
I've tested it for more than 10 hours now, it works fast and consumes a little less RAM than LineageOS 18.1. At the moment there are only two problems for me:
1. Battery gets hot and drains quickly even though I'm not gaming or anything (see my apps).
2. Every time I turn on WLAN, the device crashes after a few minutes (normal work is no longer possible).
I've uploaded a bug report, maybe someone can do something with it.
I'm now temporarily back on crDroid 7.30
Can you check without gapps? If wlan works perfectly? And is there any battery drain without gapps!

I haven't had any problem with gapps, as you can see I was able to install everything successfully. I only have problem with wifi. I'm also back on Android 11. But 13 was a lot of fun, I only uninstalled it again because of the hot battery and fast discharge with defective WLAN.

Yes, I installed it. Didn't put my SIM in it. Tested it with Wi-Fi. Works really well. Didn't face any issues/bugs. Felt it to be smoother than LOS 18.1.

Please share your review of performance and battery life ?
Is there any bug ?
Does Bluetooth and Video Recording work well?
Battery life is great yesterday I got 4hrs on screen time, I haven't had any bugs so far haven't tested Bluetooth but video recording works just fine
Just tested out the Bluetooth, listening to music sounds great. Bluetooth calls on the other hand is a no go.
good rom
on the last CrDroid, I do not pass the safetynet check, what can I do? Or at me one so?
When I first started using crDroid on 7.1.2 I chose it because all of the Oreo ROMs besides First Ever ROM required modification to the partitions through *nix in order to install because there was no space for GApps.
Is it possible to flash this on the Nexus 5 without those modifications?

How? changed the battery multiple times...
the most I get is 1:30 (SOT) with all the tweaks but it's been on about 24 hours....
Can one of you tell me if this will install on the Nexus 5 without having to change the partitions? All the other Oreo ROMs were too large to be able to flash GApps.
Yeah this doesn't work on the Nexus 5. The system partition is too small to flash the GApps (yes, including the smallest one). You have to increase the partition through ADB to flash the GApps + ROM.
I thought these were tested on the actual device before released. Do you have the ability to emulate these other phones and just port the ROM over without a real-world test or something?
Anyways I successfully flashed ROM and GApps after all this. I tried booting to system and it was stuck on first boot for about 10-12 minutes. I wiped everything and flashed all over again.. It's been sitting here on the boot animation for the past 20 minutes. I have to give up on this and see if anyone who works on this ROM could assist in figuring out the issue.
Tried again, 35 minute boot. No luck.
Thanks for your works. However, I found two bugs need improve. Firstly, battery capacity cannot show inside battery icon in crDroid. Secondly, Cannot view storage, always loading, loading and loading. Anyway, How can I set Apps which I donn't want them run in background. good job and thanks again.
They don't seem to be active in any way. No replies here and won't accept Google+ group requests. I think the project may be dead.
What are you talking about?
Crdroid is well alive and in good shape
Just look at the build dates, they upload a new build literally everyday, just not for nexus 5

Yes. Same issue. Had to revert back to other rom.
Wow did that install fast! I no longer have a sim card in this phone - it is basically a reader for my ebooks. But when I saw your rom I decided to give it a whirl. First real issue? No fingerprint. I'm about to retry... but the fingerprint pad gave no response to the phone when I first tried to set it up. Will report back if it works on a retry.
And it did work on a retry! Excellent!
Thanks!!
Is this October security patch??
Does this virtual navbar??

I noticed this issue upon several dirty flashes while testing. Fingerprint takes quite some time to load. Might be a bug on my side. I'll test a little bit more until I release another build. Though I realized that the standby was good on wifi. So yeah. I'll look onto the signal drops too.
Ss please
Review:
Rom installs quite fast..
Open gapps Micro recommended for the best results
No heating issues,
Everything basic works, fp, cam, network etc
Love the accent picker:good:
Btw, I didn't face any Network reboot issues
Rom is quite stable
Battery backup and standby are the best among any pie rom right now.
Issues:
1. smoothness is a little let down when compared to pixel experience
2. There are some UI glitches , hope they can be fixed easily (reference: see the screenshot of phone app.. the nav bar is not yet fully compatible)
3. Settings take a lot of time to open. Like 2 seconds .. (plz fix this)
Suggestion:
Plz make animation scale 1.0x by deafult..
Plz make pixel launcher default..
Thanks for the rom:good: .. I'm happy to test stuff if you want something.. I'm gonna use this for a while , just for the battery backup..
For those who want some screenshots of customisation:

FAQ:
Can you add feature XYZ?
Probably yes, but it will come gradually. You can request nicely.
Is native root added?
Available as separate addon. Once you flash and reboot, activate on below path System > Developer Options > Root mode.
This may break safety net. Flash on your own discretion.

LiveDisplay doesn't work
Thank you for your continued support of v500!!!!
Edit: Dirty flashed from 4.7, SystemUI force closed at first reboot, no other issues so far after reboot.
Useless panic mode is finally gone, now I can tap the back button as many as I want!
Awesome. Flashing now...
EDIT: all looking great so far but tomorrow fails CTS & basic integrity. Any chance this is on your list? I really don't want to root... Thanks again @beroid
Thank you so much @beroid !
I hope you can fix the camera in future. But since it never worked on oreo it seems to be really hard to fix.
Is there a recommend way to use microG on this rom? For now I used the official Los 14.1 builds with microG included on my g pad. Any help is welcome
Thanks again!
Many thanks! It's the first of my devices to run Android 9.
I dirty flashed from Oreo & I had black screen after boot logo on first boot. Forced restart using Power & Volume Down & everything working perfectly.
Everything running smoothly & the ui is very beautiful. Feels like I just bought a new tablet
The brightness slider is not calibrated though since the first half is just about 1% brightness, but it's not a big deal.
Please add an option for Network Traffic on Status Bar.
Here's a little video I made showing the ui:

Sadly no go for me. Even flashing just the ROM itself caused my V500 to boot loop right after getting to the home screen. Clean flash by the way. Perhaps I can try a dirty flash later on.

I clean flashed with stock opengapps and had no problems at all. Seemed like an incredibly long first boot but set up worked and haven't had any issues.
Also clean flash here, NO problems whatsoever ! :good:
Formated user data, system and dalvik cache
Flashed Rom, gapps and magiks
All like in the installation documentation is mentioned.
My tablet installed all very fast and booted quick in to new android 9. Perfect ROM!
Thanks to beroid for his heroic work.
Just donated via PayPal, I hope a few more will do that ?
using cdDroid with microG
So I finally had time to Update from LOS 14 (microG version) to CrDroid 5.1. I made a clean install and used nanodroid to patch microG.
Results: Rom is really smooth and battery life is great. Only problem: It seems that integrated signature spoofing is not working actually. From what I've read this problem is affecting most custom pie roms. I hope this bug can be fixed in future.
Other than that a really great experience for now. Except signature spoofing and the mentioned bugs in op everything runs perfect for now.
Thanks again beroid!
Looks like it might be something kernel related that's not working on some of our V500's. I just tested BR Kernel 2.0 which is for Oreo ROMs. It booted just fine and runs fine except Wifi doesn't connect to the Internet (and more than likely no camera). I've tried dirty flashing with no success as well.
I try twice to install. When arrives to wifi screen it reboots automatically
Before I'll go with my V500 - could someone, who already have this ROM, check if support USB-DAC still isn't working on-the-go?

Hello everyone I have a crash error when I try to install any APK
Thank you, i like it a lot!
I have a problem with Monet Engine. I could set a custom color and make adjustments the first time i used it. But now I am stuck with nuclear-waste-yellow because the color picker has no effect anymore.
Using gestures, is there a way to remove this bar? While turning off the navigation bar in cdroid works; the back gestures(swipe right or left edge) stops working .
What changed from 8.0 to 8.1?
Hey great ROM! It works pretty well with MicroG so far.

Have you found any solution/workaround for this problem? I'm facing the same issue on version 8.1.

Sure. I know some ways:
- Flash pill_killer_twrp in PE_Begonia Telegram group. It worked with some A12, some error show but it worked. And I didnt test with this rom, you can try.
- Use G-Visual Mod Magisk but it wont total clear space, just make it shorter
- Some said Fulllscreen/Immersive Gesture (Q-S) Magisk Module work but I didn't use it also

worked Like a charm, thank you very much.
I don't know if this is an Android 12 thing or a thing with this device, but I have not been able to get USB audio output working on this ROM or the LineageOS 19 one. Any ideas? Kind of need that feature.

This is great! I will try it in the following days!
Hey, i have it flashed and it works fine so far. Only problem i have is the proximity sensor acting up.
With sensor test app it works but if i do call or listen to voice message in messenger apps it doesn't black out screen and doesn't change to earpiece
Edit: oh i just remember that had Xiaomi.eu weekly. Will flash stable og firmware and try again
Edit 2:. Yes that was indeed the problem. Thanks for the rom
New build is up, with buildin anxcamera. Both vanilla and gms build.
Hi! I'm coming from another rom and want to flash this one. I was wondering would I need to go back to miui and then flash or could I just flash it over the one im on now?
It depends on which rom you came from, if it's lineage or PE, then you don't need to go back to emui. In fact, just make sure your fw is V13.0.4.0.SKMCNXM

Very glad you enjoyed it
Hi!
I love the rom configuration options are great and it's generally very smooth, thank you for your work!
But...
I have some problems with the camera - opening the camera app or using the camera in any other apps often causes the whole system to freeze. Sometimes it's just a few seconds delay but sometimes it also needs a reboot to come back to life. Do you have similar behavior? Anything I can do about that?

It's true that anxcamera doesn't open fast, but in my case it doesn't have any bad effects, I have gcam installed at the same time and it's fine, just don't have 108m pixels. As for what you said about the camera causing the system freeze I have not encountered it, can you say what app it is?
For example NextBike app - you have to scan the QR code to rent a bike and it freezes when the camera is loading. Very annoying.
New builds are up:
June security patch
Change Kernel to inkypen's repo, upstreamed to 5.4.197 and latest lahaina CAF tag
Very Nice job but alarm doesn't work when I shut down the phone, sometimes the apn freeze.
Hi there first of all thanks for the rom this is the one I use to use with my other phones so I'm really happy with it.
But I have a problem. Android auto doesnt work and crash at startup when setting up with the car. Here are logs. Hope you can do something.
Thank you!
Here should be a better one. I did the crash twice in this one.
Looks like there is something wrong with permissions
Got it working by flashing non gms rom then basic NikGapps then android auto add on.
Freeze time to time but it works.
Must be something with your gapps integration.
Edit : made a simple kill AA app button on my home screen with tasker when android auto won't load. Maybe some other gapps can fix this tho.
