LG Flash Tool "Failed Previous Load()" - Verizon LG G3

Hello,
I am trying to restore my Verizon LG G3 (model VS985) to Kitkat (android version 4.4.2) as the new lollipop OTA upgrade from a few days ago is terrible.
I have followed this guide to using LG Flashtool to the letter but LG Flashtool (version 1.8.1.1023) is not working. I'd post a link to the guide i used but do to being a new user the system wont let me.
When I click the arrow everything goes well until the BIN CRC Check, then I get an error that says "Failed Previous Load()"
I double checked to make sure I downloaded the right .tot and .dll file for my phone.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Fix??

I'm having the exact same problem you were, same VZ model as well. Have you by any chance found a fix for it?

Have you tried a different version of the LG FlashTool? I'm using v1.8.6.527 and haven't had any issues. Everything looks correct based off of your screenshots.
You copied the MegaLock.dll you downloaded to the LGFlashTool folder? (C:\LG\LGFlashTool)
I renamed the one that was originally here by putting a .orig on the end, the took the downloaded MegaLock.dll and put it in that location.
I attached a file here with the version of the LGFlashTool setup.exe for the version I mentioned above, and it has the MegaLock.dll too.

Are there steps to setting this version of the flash tool up? In addition where do you get the vbs file?

Personally I find the kdz method easier. I also seem to have less problems if I right click lg flashtool and run as administrator.

I had the same problem , bweN diorD posted drivers for me to use in this thread, I can't upload files, but look for his post or mine about "need help returning to stock", his drivers did the trick for me. Be sure to unistall drivers you have on your pc before loading his, hope this helps you, credit goes to bweN diorD
Can't link to thread for some reason, but title is "please help hung up in downgrade to 10b" , driver link is in thread

Well if your phone isn't bricked (meaning you can boot it up to the home screen), you may flash the entire JB zip located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067871
This is safer then using the LGNPST which is mainly if your phone is bricked.
But you did not mention that your phone is bricked, meaning you cannot turn it on past the boot logo.

HELP! Lg L5 always on "Download in progress. Do not disconnect cable."

Hello guys, my LG L5 always stay in download mode. I tried to restore stock JB rom, because not working been with cm11. What should I do? It's possible to working again with my phone? :\
I think U should use KDZ Updater or LG Flash tool, and an KDZ image of desired firmware. This is almost complete guide "how-to" flash phone. KDZ file is somewhere here.

[Help!!] How to Unbrick Metro PCs LG K7 LGMS330!!

Alright so I recently got the lg k7 from metro pcs and decided to root it. I rooted it using kingroot and then used supersu me so that I could install supersu instead of the one used for kingroot. It worked and then asked me to reboot my phone but when it started up again, it just stayed frozen on the metro pcs logo! I removed the battery and went into recovery mode, (by clicking the down volume+power button) but when it starts up again, it still stays stuck on the metro logo. Im assuming it is stuck on a bootloop? I also believe it is soft brick because i can still access the download mode, although it did take a while as i had to find the dang drivers b/c my computer would not recognize it.
I tried using the LG Mobile Support Tool to try to unbrick it, but it says that it already has the latest firmware installed! I cant do an update recovery either!
Sadly the 7 day exchange and return has ended and I cannot replace it, so is there any other way that anyone knows to unbrick the phone?
Thanks
Did you ever figure this out? I had my k7 goto a secure boot error 9 and cant figure it out.

The only way to fix our LG devices...including @Goongydin device
1. downloada kdz firmware file for our respective model & carrier
2. download lg flashtool & another tool on a windows PC
3. put the device in download mode
4. reflash the firmware(Stock)
check out my tutorial here if the firmware file for the LG K7 is ever released...http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/how-to-universally-manually-update-lg-t3280735
HOWEVER the LG K7 firmware file has NOT been released yet & LG wont release if ask...I asked once & they told me they do NOT make it & then I ask another time(different lg representative) She said that file is proprietary & so it can NOT be released to anyone outside of LG...
so I have multiple responses that conflicts with one another especially when the first conversation was with an LG developer...who ACTUALLY makes those files apparently, but inclined that he does NOT.

Wow that is amazing! For the sake of educating, would you mind sharing how you made a tot file (or a link describing the process). I have been trying to make a kdz or tot for like the past week and have just been going in circles.
I have the T-Mobile variant of the K7 (LGK330BK. Is this tot carrier specific? All I need is to get back into TWRP to restore my back up or restore my system.img.

I'll try using a different computer later
Tried with an older computer 32bit with usb 2.0 and it did the same thing. Toolkit said "VSB98546A is not supported," also tried the toolkit to instal twrp and it gave the same warning. LG flash tool fails because of model check. When you scroll up next to model is blank.
I also tried flashing a kdz using lg flash tool 2014 and it was jsut question marks. The status bar would go across on screen then nothing. Nothing ever changed on phone.
First things first. With the phone in download mode and connected to the PC via USB, when you look in Windows' Device Manager, do you see the phone listed in the Modem section?

The only KDZs you can flash from stock 46A are 35B or 47A. If you want to get to where you can easily root and install TWRP, you'll have to flash the 10B TOT using the .DLL that's extracted from the 35B KDZ, then root using the Stump app and use TWRP Manager from the Play Store to flash TWRP. Then you can flash whatever bootstack and ROM you want.
You can get the 10B TOT and 35B .DLL from my Android File Host link at the bottom of @annoyingduck's stickied return to stock thread in the General section. You'll have to Google for the software to flash TOTs.

Thanks. I tried that too and got "model information check fail." I used these files:
LGVS985_20140620_LGFLASHv160.dll Is this the right dll file?
VS98510B_03.tot
I did more reading and it seems not using an LG cable can cause this. I tried with many brands but don't have an LG cable. If those are the correct files I guess my next step is to order an LG cable.

I can't tell by the filename alone if it's the right file. You can compare to what I have on Android File Host (link in the thread I mentioned).
The TOT file is likely correct. Yes, I always recommend using the original USB cable for flashing. Hopefully that's your solution.
Thanks so much for your help. Looks like I was using the wrong dll file. I used the one in this post below and it worked right away.

I had the same problem and was able to flash an old rom using the LG flashtool, here is a guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772199
But I had to use this dll file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63266194&postcount=84
After my phone reset during the flash it displayed 2 on the screen and did not pass. Just go into your PC's device manager and recheck the com port and change it back to 41. Mine changed as the phone reset during the flash process. Once I changed it back to 41 the flash resumed and the displayed 3 on the phone and the computer said pass.
MY Problem Has Been Recoverd By Flashing 35B KDZ using LG FLASH TOOL 2014. Easy and not need of any DLL file. Now i am on 47A using KDZ.
Thanks everyone

the same thing exactly happened to me, somehow the bootloader got LOCKED again. i cant unlock it because of OEM Unlocking not enabled after wipe in TWRP. thinking about getting a new Logicboard\Motherboard. and i couldn't find RS98821d kdz\tot anywhere.
You'll need to send them in for repair with someone who has the non-free proprietary Qualcomm firehose files, xml partition map, and non-free stock partition files .mbn/.bin (similar to kdz/tot, but aren't). Or through the JTAG box method that I use. There's no other way to revive this particular phone model RS988 besides this method. I can do the JTAG box method repair if interested. You also wiped your fota and misc (can cause BT, wifi, and DRM media problems) partition which you shouldn't have, which again can't be fixed without JTAG. I can't share my particular methods, but if you Google them or search on YouTube, you'll get an idea.

Already fixed it. without JTAG
@BahaEzawi
That's cool, would you mind sharing how you did it?
I'm in the very same position.

Great!. Have you a reference webpage to check?
As far as I can tell the issue is that there is no .DLL to load for this variant. Which I wish I knew about earlier...

I flashed the RS98810h.kdz file (which you can find on InfoPrime AIO Thread) using LGUP which basically the only kdz that i could flash. and for the DLL you could Use Uppercut (Also in InfoPrime AIO thread) then unlocked the bootloader again and installed TWRP then flashed the RS98821d zip. Thats it.
Or if u dont want to install TWRP you could just flash the RS98810h.kdz using LGUP and uppercut then unlock the bootloader and you're good to go.

Very cool, I thought that might work based on what I've read. Just didn't want to go further down the rabbit hole. Hope this works, if so expect some thanks, if not, well, at least I tried. Thanks for the quick reply!

Yea I wish I could. LGUP doesn't let you downgrade it seems?
Since I was on the D version it wouldn't let me.
Uppercut does work in general though for the variant from what I can tell so far.

Does the Brightpoint version allow you to use the official bootloader unlocker method?

Thanks to you I could unbrick my RS988. 98810h.kdz installed smoothly. Flashing 98821d always ended in error, even it is recommended when checked IMEI on LG official page.
