SD SDIO Question - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

I know that the xda only supports SD memory and not the more flexible SDIO devices. Does anyone know if this is a hardware limitation or is it lack of software?

Both.
Hardware doesn't support SDIO. Neither does Pocket PC 2002.

Can I use SD I/O WIFI with my xda1?
No, the XDA does not support SDIO
Is this because of hardware or the OS? Apparently WM2003SE will support this?
Hardware.
Just search the forum before you post!

Sandisk Wi-Fi 256 mg problem resolved with SE?

Hello! Does anynone tried to use the sandisk Wi-Fi, with 256 mg version with the 2003SE? Does it works? I know that is problem to work the included memory with the 2003. With the new Operative System does it work ok?
Thanks.
Still remain the same.
The driver on sandisk website is never upgrade since last year ==> what you have on your CD driver is the same as in sandisk website.
I ask them several times (also some people asking them), and sandisk reply say they are not saying wifi+256 SD card is compatible with WM 2003 SE. Only compatible with WM 2003. This means they have no support/compatible with WM2003 SE.
Too bad :-(
Arto
you can use the socket wifi driver on the sandisk card they use the same oem wifi chip
What is that?
So, with the socket wifi driver (of Sandisk) I can use only the wi-fi feature and not the in built memory? Or can I use both? Were is the driver that you talk abaout
Thanks.
Yes, I would be interested on the resolution too since I do have the card right now and I am getting to return it because I could not get it to work.

Excellent sd gps.. not compat with XDA IIS

http://www.semsons.com/sp2sdgpsrewi.html
This looks to be the best sd gps unit out there.. great reception and a mini sd slot.. but because of the sdio bug with the XDA IIS, the bloody thing isn't compatible...
It seems to be a software/ driver malfunction rather than a hardware limitation... I'd really love to see someone try to tackle this prob.

to use on blueangel, we would need one sd adapter
btw, is that bug with all units?
also, i think for gps, the best is one bt antenna, because for sure we will fill the sd slot with one memory card

Hmm, I don't think so.. it's fits in to the sd slot on top of the machine plus it has it's own mini sd slot so you can still use extenal storage.
But that being said, because of the o2 xda iis sdio bug it doesn't work for that model.
unless we try another rom to see if the problam persist.
maybe one original 9090 rom
Actually that's a point.. I didn't even consider that a change of rom might fix this issue... good catch.

New Hard Drive

Hi,
I have just bought a small hard dirve and was wondering how i could connect it to the xda II.
if you can find a sdio card which alow it
or if you use old wm2003 and got the backpack
and can find an cf card which alow it
then it can be don but in general i doubt it
himalya dont use a hd internaly at all
and 2.5" hd's use much more power then most pda's can provide without
external power
hard drive
hi,
I don't quite understand how to solder it in. Please help.

Nobody does!
What part of: the device doesn't have an HDD don't you understand?

you 99% surely cant solder a hd into it
the ram storage inside your himalya is flash and sdram which
are small chips a harddisk is much bigger and use much
more power and require a controller to opperate

There's Windows Phone Internals, but what about unsupported phones?

If Windows RT on a Lumia 520 appeared out of nowhere because of a release of a program called windows phone internals, and the lumia 435, which is what I have to do cool stuff with, can we get custom ROMs on the Microsoft Lumia 435 without fear of an angry mum and a broken phone?
unsupported phone have SD card. SD card give all the internals. SD is a type of removable flash memory card used for storing information. SD is an abbreviation of Secure Digital, and microSD cards are sometimes referred to as µSD or uSD . The cards are widely used in mobile phones. This SD card recover the information. They are also used in newer types of handheld GPS devices, portable media players, digital audio players, expandable USB flash drives, Nintendo DS flashcards, and digital cameras.
