How does everyone keep from loosing there stylus pen, mine keeps falling out my antenna
when i was still using an xda1 i bought a 3-piece stylus set for the unit. the stylus is made of plastic similar to those used by palm pilots. the ones i used were "slightly" fatter and thus didn't fall or slip off even when they were not pushed all the way in.
i'm still using the same sets of stylus for my xda2; aside from them being lighter they don't discolor or anything unlike the ones which come with the units.
cheers
Yea on the weekends I am a painter and i lay down custom paint jobs for show cars and what not and i was thinking if i layerd some paint on the phone it would tighten up the fit. I have only had my phone a few days and i have last 2 allready haha.
I will post photos of the paint work when i am done. I am going with a camelon green\silver\gold with some pear ghost desighn. not sure what i am goign to use for a design if yall have any ideas let me know. NO flames i am sick of flames. worst comes to worst i just bought some chrome paint that i have not used and ill just get rid of the ghost and put on that in the design of some lightniing bolts coming down it. I prolly wont have this phone long and hoping maybe a 100 dollar paint job will help it sell for lil more then i paied for it hehe.

External Antenna Rubber Cap

My darn external gsm external rubber cap came off and is MIA. Anyone know where I can get a replacement? I searched over google with no luck. Anyone with a link would be great.
Thanks,
Mike
Been after one of these for awhile also and searched to no avail so far ...
No idea where to pick one up, but to all you other people who have a loose one, make sure to put a small dab of super glue on there to keep from losing it
Lost mine too I think everyone has to be honest!
I've lost mine too.
I've heard of people using pencil erasers, BIC pen caps etc.
I just put a small piece of tape on it - just to keep dust out.
I use the one from my old wizard. stands out just a little but it keeps the dust out.
i dont use anything anymore after i lost mine
dust is not conductive really at the end of the day
it's cosmetic

Dust under the screen...

Looks like I got one dot on the middle right side, tiny specks on the top right side, and a few more on the top. I also got some light leakage, but that's very, very minor compared to the dust under the screen. I'm kinda OCD about this, so I'm thinking of getting an exchange at Bestbuy..
What about you folks?
You sure its not dead pixels. Anyways, if it bothers you return it. its about customer satisfaction. So what if they look at you strange, you'll be happier and anyways, who cares about them.
Damn why can't HTC get this right! It seems every new HTC phone gets dust under the screen.
Yeah. Hopefully my new TPU case that's coming will block a lot of the incoming dust after my exchange.
I'm having some other problems as well, preferably with 3D youtube videos not playing in 3D. :/
I was thinking about getting the Otterbox Defender but I decided not to because of the size of it, But now I think I'm gonna get it because it will totally keep dust from getting under the screen.
I havent had this issue myself since the Hero, but it was most definitely annoying. It got so bad that I was tempted to just spray the phone with aerosol lol
Every HTC phone I have had has screen lifting issues. When you get a new htc phone press around the screen. If you hear any popping sounds the screen is strarting to left and will get dust under it. I use a hair dryer and get the screen really hot. Then press the screen down for 3 to 5 mins. This will help seal the screen and will keep dust out of your new phone. There can be dust under the screen from poor manaurfatioring proccess so inspect your new phone then use the hair dryer trick before it gets dust under the screen.
Yeah I got a damn spec of dust stuck inside my camera lens too... good thing its off to the side edge but yeh that urrrks!

I got the otterbox commuter case and it is wonderful. It is like silicone so it isn't slick and it doesn't add a lot of mass to the phone. It will still go in your pocket easily.
Mine had dust too. Exchanged it as soon as I noticed it.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
I literally just watched a piece of dust get stuck under the screen when I was wiping it off. It wasn't there, then a moment later it was. This is in addition to 3-4 other specs I just noticed today. I think I may go into the Sprint store this weekend and exchange it. Has anyone had any trouble exchanging it for dust issues?
I just noticed 2 specs of dust near the charging port, very annoying. I had this issue with the Hero as well...got about 3 replacements, and they all eventually got dust under them.
Anyone have an issue exchanging their phone with this issue? I got mine at Best Buy, so they better take it back.
I got mine at Best Buy as well. Just make some stuff up like the buttons feels loose and the battery will drain randomly at times.
Why, is dust under the screen not a valid reason to return it? It shouldn't happen.
You guys should put a piece of tape over the headset jack when not in use. Most dust comes in through that jack.

I think the dust is coming in from the sides of the screen because its not sealed good
For those of you that have dust, did you exchange it for a new phone?

Why the eff should somebody have to do this to any phone let alone a brand new phone? If you have to do that then its not built right.
True, but it works.
Lol, I am not putting tape on my headset jack.
It looks like mine came in through the charger port

[Q] Paper bits stuck in lower gap between screen and bezel

I tried cleaning the dust from in between my I9300's screen and bezel with a paper and got 2 bits of paper stuck in there. I've tried everything but can't seem to get them out for the life of it. It actually looks like they've gone under the screen? Is that even possible? I'm dreading the sight of my phone now because I'm very OCD about such stuff. Also, the dust doesn't seem to want to go with paper or a tooth brush? What's up with that?
ANY help would be highly appreciated.
Thank you!
My first suggestion is don't listen to anyone that suggests using sticky tape, this will leave sticky residue.
You could try cutting the bits of paper away with razor blade, but really I think a measure of perspective is needed here.
Have you tried a blast of compressed air to try clearing dust?
Also I suspect that the bonding between screen layers doesn't extent to the very edges, and so it may be possible that the dust has got between the layers at the very edges.
Most important though is to try and focus on something else more joyous and appreciate your luck in simple being able to afford to own such a device.
Indeed. I am thankful. However, I would really want this fixed.
Doesn't blowing air send the dust under the screen?
Thanks.
If your not happy and can live without your phone for a week send it off to be repaired.
My suffers from the same bad dust problem around the edges, I intend after the New Year to get it sent off to be sorted, not because the dust actually bother me much, more because of it resale value when it comes to the time to sell it on.
S1 & the S2 never suffered this problem, but there seems to be a few S3's that do.
Edit
Also if you do manage get shut of it it will only return again.

[Q] Removing scratches off the back glass?

Even though the phone is supposed to be scratch resistant and it has not really been anywhere where it would likely pick up scratches, I have noticed maybe 2 or 3 light scratches on the back.
I think I have some kind of OCD because annoyances like these drive me crazy!
Is there any tips or a way to get the scratches out?
Thanks
the back of this phone scratches super easy,
im not sure how to get them out either, but try using polish or a bannana
suposedly mushed banana is good for removing scratches from CDs n stuff alike but ive never tried it my self because i dont have either
