Please help me out. My new ppc 2003 does not sync with my active sync 3.5. Incompatibility sign always shows up during the sync. Is the solution to this problem the newer version of activesync, please advise me any other sites besides Mircosoft's since I tried downloading many times and all of which failed.
Yes. U must install Activestink 3.7. it will not work with anything less.
Please advise me where to download it, since the Microsoft website is not active and I cannot download it for days. Thanks

hi
im a bit new to all this xda stuff.
ok ive just installed active sync 3.5 (from the cd). the phone will sync with my pc, however when i try to explore the xda the window opens and nothing happens. after about a minute this message appears -
critical communications service failed to start. then it says to restart.
tried this and then tried the latest active sync to no avail - what am i doing wrong.
all help much appreciated.
Are you running any firewall software on your PC ?
This can stop communication with the ppc, you can try disabling the software and try to explore again.

tried that but it does exactly the same thing. it syncs perfectly but no exporer.

why don't u install the most recent version ....
which is 3.7.1 is shall do the trick and operate flawlessly

Please help me out.
I was able to sync my Xda2 running on wm2003se without any problem till a few days back when i started getting "Synchronization Error" while i am trying to sync. The Activesync hooks up, and it shows the name of the mobile device that is in use, and then when it has to sync the Outlook datas and "files" it says "Synchronization Error".
I am still able to install apps, and use the "explore" feature. just that it is not Synchronizing!
please help me out... thanx a lot in advance!

Have you got the latest syncing software (eg Activesync 4.5 for XP)? Have you tried unchecking advanced connection? How about deleting all partnerships on the device and on the PC, and starting again?
yes, I did all, deleted partnership. i have the 4.5 version. even i flash the new rom for my device also.

1. Try uninstall your activesync then restart the pc then install the latest activesync.
2. Then try to sync ameo

OK, try a different cable, if you can. Also, disable any antivirus and firewalls on the PC. If the latter works, you may need to configure them again - ie remove the Activesync exclusion in your firewall and add it again as an allowed connection.

Has you stopped or disabled any services on your Athena?
Some time ago, I disabled Credential Manager service as told in this thread and then I cannot sync using ActiveSync.
The solution was to enabled it again.

I got a problem when synching to my computer. I install activesynch 4.5 on windows XP and then i connect my usb wire to my pc to my MDA vario 4.
Problem is, the phone gets recognized by my pc and I can open the folders. But I am logged in the active sync as guest. I googled for this problem, but everywhere it says I should get a wizard when I connect to the sync program for the first time, but with me it does not :S.
I have tried reinstalling, but no success either.
Can someone assist me with this matter? I would really like to try a new ROM

Are you sure u don't get the wizard?? Sometimes you have to Ctrl+Esc so it can pop up back to the front

Every time I have had issues with Active sync, I would just go download it again reinstall it, I wouldn't even bother uninstalling it and it would always mysteriously work...

Did you try to configure active sync on you phone?!
One time it didn't want to sync yet, then i did a hard reset and all works like a charm... Maybe you installed smething bad like i did...
You can create a backup with Sprite Backup http://www.htc.com/fr/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=133&cat=3&dl_id=19
It creates a backup of everything you want, even settings and messages and make an executable that you can launch after hard resetting

I have this issue of i am unable to log in and syn my HD2 with Microsoft MYphone website.
I follow the instructions to remove and re-install the program but it hang at the step 4 of the whole installation. Soon after i realised that my marketplace is unable to log in too.
I need to back my HD2 stuff before i do a hard reset thus will like to seek your kind advice.

I've had the same problem with MyPhone. I just checked it now and it looks like my phone hasn't had a successful sync since late Octorber. All I get is an error message saying my Windows Live ID / Password might be wrong.
I tried to stop the service and change my login credentials but neither option works giving me the same error.
