hi guys i hope some one replay
my sgs2 screen got blue tint on top of my screen i tried 4 firmwares the same so i toke my phone to my local shop that i bought it from because i have 1 year warranty
so today they told me it was a firmware proplem they told that they installed another rom and now it have no blue tint on top
but i sure they are telling lies
im sure they have changed the screen cuz no way a firmware fix this
im going to take my device tomorrow from the shop is there any way to know if they have replaced the screen ? ?? ?
i want to know that cuz my warranty is replacing the device not fixing it !
so i want to know if there is any way to know if they changed the screen or not ??
thanks alot guys on advance
First thing I would do is see if the blue tint problem is fixed. I imagine you will be able to do that easily.
If there is no blue tint problem you will be happy, yes?
Not sure what your asking since your phone is being fixed under warranty for free.
Edit: ok read your post again and you want the phone replaced not fixed. Maybe you could check if the phone has the same serial number and ime??

if they changed the screen the serial number and ime will still be the same right ? ?
so any other way to see if they replaced the screen
Just call them and ask...I'm not sure why would they go all the trouble of replacing the screen and then lie about it.

what is the duration of your phone on their hand? if less than 1 day, hard to believe they can change the LCD so fast.

i noticed a dark dead line on the top of screen of Xperia Neo which appears with dark colors for images . videos , games , applications ,,,, any thing falls in this site "i mean blue , red , grey , green ,.....",,, the depth of the darkness is proportional to the depth of the viewed color "i.e it ranges from faint grey to deep black ", i guess it's an issue of LEDs or something that couldnot emit those dark colors evidenced by not appearing with white or black
i uploaded a screen shot with white colored screen and another with greyed screen with arrows pointing to the line i mean
can anyone help ,,, i hope it's a software issue ,,, my phone is still in warranty period but i am afraid of sending it to warranty in my country because i heard that they are careless and not professional ,, and axiom "the best warranty" is not avalable in my country ,,
i am facing exactly the same problem with my xperia neo
Do you use the factory rom ?

I am not sure if its a software issue or not. Seems to me like a LCD panel issue. However, you can try flashing the stock ROM and see if it helps. For flashing, you need the stock ftf file and flash tool for neo.
You can find flash tool here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351317
For stock ROM, go here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24113310&postcount=64
Its the global version of .62 firmware.
Once you download the firmware, its an easy job with flash tool.
thnx alot but i meant that i want to flash to 2.3.3
You will get 0 battery error if you downgrade.....

Simply reflash that .62 fw, linked above. Then you will see.
That line looks like water damage

That is ghosting effects quite common on LCD screens flashing back stock rom won't help you with that.

but it occurs only for dark colors ,, could it be water damage ?

Probably water damage, I left my phone near the shower, damp air might have gone inside. I sent it back to Sony, but they didn't repair anything.

I sent it to them, and they sent it back without comments. It's a waste of time to send it to them imo. It it really noticeable during normal usage? I only see the effect on a grey background.
Those pics were taken half a year ago Gingerbread with some theming

i just upgraded my phone to ICS ,, and noticed that this line is like a stamp of old screen "i.e. when it falls on dark displayed color , i can see this black line appearing as " 5:02 PM , and the signal of my operator " ,,, i mean it sounds like a screen of notifications bar is frozen and displayed in the form of this line ,,
Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_persistence
and this: http://compreviews.about.com/od/monitors/a/LCDBurnIn.htm
and pay attention to parts where they talk about treatment or correction
also check solutions here: http://superuser.com/questions/19102/burned-in-pixels-on-tft-monitor
Ether turn off your phone for few days, or find/make white image and let it run on your phone for some time, you can set screen on for 30 minutes, so you don't need to check it so often.
Hi Xda'ians,
I have a problem with my Galaxy tab GT-7510 and would like your help/opinion/advice ...
Today, my galaxy tab screen started showing weird colors. I mean that all the black colored letters, black backgrounds had a reddish color. I have attached the snapshots of the screen image that indicate the problem. As you can see it's really difficult to use the tablet due to this problem.
I had a chat with the samsung support and they willing to check my tablet but alas, my warranty had expired and they informed me that I would have to pay 200$ for them to evaluate, replace parts and ship the tablet to me.
So questions to all --
1) Do you think it is worth paying $200 and getting my tablet repaired or is it better to get a new tablet ???
2) Has anyone experienced such a problem before and how did you get it resolved ??
3) Is there any way I can fix this problem myself with the minimal expenditure ??
Any suggestions by the community would be really very helpful !!!
PS: I have checked out videos of how to replace the screen but not sure which part needs to be replaced (i.e., digitizer/screen or LCD or some other component)
Thank you all for your help in advance !!!

Update :
I tried flashing a stock 3.1 image on the tablet but the red color still appears. I have attached another image of the problem.
Have you tried a different ROM? Is it possible its software related?

I had the same problem and some people I know as well. I tried everything to fix, from using the hair drier to leaving in in the refrigerator for 30 mins. Nothing works.
Please note that noone complains about ipads, and they are very good with warranties. If I ever get another tablet, it will be ipad.
I bought a S2 recently from ebay and it turns out it has a burn in, or what it appears to be, on it. Even the seller apparently didn't know about it, but I got a partial refund so its OK. Now, my question is, how can I get rid of it, if that's possible? I tried screen burn in tool for quite a long time now (5 hours) and I think it did... something. Or maybe be only answer it to replace the screen or something? The burn in isn't such a big problem and I can live with it, but it would be nice if I would be able to get rid of it. Any help is appreciated.
Replacing the display will solve the problem and removes the possibility of it happening on your old display again.

You can't fix it. Once it's done, it's done. You can only replace the display if it bothers you that much as per the previous poster.
Thanks guys for the help I used this display tester app on the play store, and after 3 hours of working it remove my burn in almost completely.

Use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gombosdev.displaytester and run the screen burn in fixer for about 3-4 hours. Ou may need to run or for longer though, it depends on the burn in. If the burn in stops improving, then just leave it. You won't fix it 100%, but it will be noticeable. I still have a little bit of the burn in today. It automatically sets the brightness to 100%.

Man, if it's a hardware problem, you need to consult Samsung...... Otherwise, if you want to use a custom rom, then you can flash any good rom and check if your problem is solved????
Hi ...I got Xperia X (f5122) few days back & on the second day I noticed a weird light on the screen of my phone .There are two large spots at the bottom where the gaps are.I am attaching pictures here.
This is very frustrating and distractive even in daylight I can see this light coming off screen .Notice the area where the ' Back ' & 'recent ' keys are.
I haven't see this kind of light bleed on my previous Sony devices. This is easily noticeable even i don't look at it & execpt it's on 10 % or lower brightness.
May I request anyone from SONY to confirm this as manfacture defect or some issue with my device as this isn't a standard of a product ?
And anybody elese facing this issue please attach your pictures and do tell whether your Xperia X has it or not?
It will be very useful to me.

Excessive pressure ! Hell no! 1st day I got the device ;it was sealed pack ,set the device through setup guide ,charged it to 100% .and made sure that wifi was working because I need that and one 2nd day in morning I started disabling pre-installed apps and I noticed this.
I had atleast 9 Sony devices before & I don't remember having this issue.
Thanks for quick reply.
I am just curious because bleed is ( or whatever it is ) exact on back and recent key and they look organized ! lol ! So want to confirm from XPERIA X users do they have it on exact same spot.?
I am getting your point but do you have Xperia X & can you post a picture of it?
Set brightness 80% or more then dial *#*#7378423#*#* on phonepad -go to service test-display-click until u get black screen.Notice & post a picture if you can.
