Missing "More" tab in phone settings - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

When I tried to activate cell broadcast and was searching where to turn it on, I registered that "More" tab in phone settings is missing. It's the tab where you can set up auto pick-up, cell broadcasting etc. Maybe it is not missing, maybe the settings are in other location - but I looked everywhere and - nothing. I have ROM 4.00.11 ... In PPC2002 all those settings were on the Phone settings tab...
Has anyone the same problem? Can you help me?

[Q] How to Delete Internet Settings in HD2

Hi Fella's...
I have this lovely crystal piece, where I played a bit with internet connection settings to get it worked.
I setup few Internet settings in a new profile, as couldn't get it worked, so deleted until i succeeded, now whenever I try to create a connection with the same name, it says connection already exists, where as i deleted it, and cannot found any settings.
However, When i click on WI-Fi router, It ask me to select one internet settings from the ones which are currently there and the ones which have been deleted.
My query here is, How do i completely those internet settings?
NB: Please, do not ask me hard reset, as there is lot of info. in phone and can't afford to loose them.
turn off wifi (just for simplicity)
then
settings - menu - all settings - connections - wifi - wireless networks
You should see
search for networks
your defined network1
your defined network2
your defined network3
press and hold teh one you want to remove and a popup should come up, choose remove settings
Sorry, I must have confused you somewhere...
The Internet setting which i want to delete, relates to Data connection, and not Wifi...
Although the deleted data connection settings seems to appear when you want to use your mobile as wifi router and ask you to select one of the deleted and current setting to use it for sharing your data connection.
I will sooner paste a screen shot of it...
ah ok, , settings, menu, all settings, connections, connections, advanced, select networks,
open the top dropdown, you should see them all listed, change the dropdown to the one you want rid of, choose edit, press and hold, choose delete
Dont forget to change that top dropdown back to the good one you wanna use.
Having the same problem, found no solution!! HELP!
Hi unoimgr8st, I am having same problem. I deleted my old Network setups (WAP GPRS MMS) but when I try to creat new ones with same name (even though I deleted em) I get a msg error that says "a conection with that name already exists!). When I get into the WiFi Router, I see that all my old connections deleted from the advance tab, still show there in the Router !!!! Any ideas? or just Hard Reset?

Recently I had upgraded my HD2 Leo to the latest Rom downloaded from HTC official Website and I found my Home Screen Weather Tab (Current Location) only updated via WIFI and not on GPRS, 3G and HSPA. The rest of the contries weather was updated via GPRS, 3G, HSPA and WIFI. HTC Location Service which is located in Setting has been Ticked but the current location weather tab also not updating. Can anyone here help me please? Sorry for my english. Thanks!
chech your 3g settings on what applications should use when they connect tio the internet
the setting is found in wireless controls, data connection
make sure the setting for application internet access is set to your provider
and maybe you can check the weather settings under data settings, utilities, weather

[Q] Connects to mobile network even when wifi is available

Hi all
Not a power user's dilemma I'm afraid but I hope someone can help me out...
What's bugging me is that my wife's LG-P500 incurs a small charge every day because, despite all the settings telling me it should NOT connect to the internet via the mobile network at any time, it somehow still connects - even when wifi is available like at home.
This wouldn't be a big deal normally but because she's on a pre-pay txt only plan her credit gets used up quickly.
My HTC Wildfire uses NO mobile connection at all when I have wifi available. Any ideas why this should be happening with our LG-P500?
Great forums by the way and I'm slightly embarrassed to be raising this probably noob topic here but I can't find an answer anywhere else...
Thanks in advance!
I haven't seen that problem on my P500, with the void echo ROM (the stock firmware didn't stay on the phone long enough for me to try that).
The option to disable it is in:
Settings -> Wireless and network settings -> Mobile networks -> Data enabled (should be unchecked)
Or in the drop-down menu of the notification bar.
I'm not sure about the stock ROM, but on void, an additional icon appears on the notification bar whenever the mobile network is active.
You could also try disabling the option:
Settings -> Accounts & sync settings -> Background data (should be unchecked)
Thanks. I already did all the obvious stuff you mention, having seen it work fine on my Wildfire... Any other ideas out there?
Might this be related to Location Services using Cell tower information ?
Could try turning that off anyway.
If you don't want to use the mobile network for internet access, than go to Settings > Wireless & network settings > Mobile networks > Uncheck Data enabled .
If the network allows you, you can also select Network mode > GSM only, this will also save you some battery. For example, I only use wifi to connect to Internet on my phone, and I also checked the option "Use only 2G networks" (also saves battery), I'm connecting to my operator only for phone calls
What is your Wi-Fi sleep policy settings? Try setting it to Never.
When the phone goes into sleep mode, wifi is turned off to save on battery. May be that's the reason mobile network is getting connected in sleep mode. If u enable wifi policy to never sleep that will drain the battery. You can disable the mobile network from th3 notification bar that should help.
Many thanks for the help guys!
Wifi sleep: good idea, I'll look at that!
Location services: good idea, I'll look at that!
Data enabled: unchecked already.
The problem still strikes me as odd because although I have ALL the same apps (and quite a few more...), I don't have this problem with my little HTC Wildfire...
Update: the only way I could find to resove the issue was to invent and use a nonsense APN...
Wifi sleep was already ticked as "never" by the way.
Thanks again everyone who gave advice.
Yeah, I've also had reason to use an APN named "fake" with a proxy named 'fake", although i use "Z" now to save typing, LOL.
This is one of many things i would do when changing SIMs. I have had one SIM and phone that always set a new APN and this ended up costing me a few bucks in data fees before I re-changed the APN info.
I would also disable the data services, make sure WiFi was on (to provide priority data access) AND enable airplane mode.
Anyway, your experience has inspired me to check more deeply about my data usage. I don't like the idea of my phone doing data without my knowledge while it's in standy.
I prefer to manually choose which connection I would like to use, so if I'm using my data plan such as when I'm out, I go to notification and enable data. I only get 200mb a month so its easier for me than to always keep networks on even when I'm not using them. It also saves on the battery as well.
EDIT: you can check your data usage using 3g watchdog app, find it in android market
It easy to solve. Just install APNdroid
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.code.apndroid
It also has a widget. Works very well.

[Q] Location Unavailable - Stock Browser

So from when I first got the phone, the stock browser displays "location unavailable" on the Google home screen(even sitting next to another Android device running stock browser that can find the location). This happens no matter where I am, and all GPS functions are fine. Location services are on, and I have even signed into Google in browser but none of that makes a difference. Happens on wi-fi or not, 3G or 4G. Any thoughts?
no location in browser
Go to browser settings, and scroll down just below Accept
Cookies to 'Enable Location'. Make sure it's checked.
Turn on GPS antenna and WiFi on the phone and your locations should work.

Brilliant! I thought I had found every location selection but missed that one. On all of my other devices that was selected as a browser default I guess. Thanks for the help.

https://youtu.be/zjXlZi8TDYs
any tips?
thxx for sharing
You will need to go into developer options (tap build number 5 times in the "about phone" section) and enable the "Mobile data always on" option.
hi,
i ve tried it, no luck :/
I'm using the VPN App "Speedify" fot that works great. G<ive it a try!
weird
had a firmware update this morning for fix network link, no changes :/
that has nothing to do with vpn related stuff
Unlock developer settings there you chsnge the settings
Speedify is not only VPN! It also combines Wifi + mobile date. That will solve your problem.
What's the version number of your mobile phone? You can try other WiFi。
