Take a look at your manual.....
You have to unsrew your stick and push it into the little hole down under the headset plug in.
wait 60 Seconds
and do the same procedure again.

Cold boot means hard reset. This is in contrast to a warm boot which means soft reset. A hard reset erases all data and boots your device to its factory default state.

Hello All,
Something freaky just happend. I was reading a thread about how someone was unable to access his Bootloader after a WM 2003 install and decided to go into Bootloader mode. No problems there, so I did a soft reset to get out of Bootloader mode and Boom! 'Tap here to set up your device' displayed amid the 'Bliss' background.
I had to setup the device from scratch. Luckily not all that much loss of software and I only lost one appointment which I still remember. Can you guys with WM 2003 try it and let me know your results? Please backup your data first!

i upgraded my hermes to WM6 PRO 3.54c ROM. the phone operated well in the begining. however, when i was access the Today Music Plug-in, the phone was reboot by itself then could not entry wm 6 again (can not pass the wm6 green page and reboot and reboot again)

The same thing happened to me with 3.43c. The only way I got passed the WM screen was to hard reset it. Give that a go and see if it helps.

Why not try to reflash the OS again?

I believe that you do this by pressing both of the soft keys to the left and right of under the screen and press reset.

I think the RomUpgradeUt.exe that exists in the wm5 ROMs is not compatible with SPL 2.03.
try this:
Extract the .nbh file from your desired wm5 rom (Rename your ROM from *.exe to *.zip and extract it using winzip).
Flash it to your device using RUUwrapper.exe (Force using SSPL).

now i've made the update.
It shows no error or something other.
The MDA looks like a WM5 device - But it will stop booting when it shows the first WM5-Picture.
Ok...now it will stop when it shows the "T-Mobile" Splash Screen..
Well....one Softreset later .... i have a white Screen

I insert the SD-Card, load the Bootloader, after this, the Display show's:
"Loading...."
After this:
"Checking..."
And for a Short time
"00028002
Not Allowed"
Then I'm in the RGB-Colored Bootloader......
Any Idea? I've tried the WM6-File from the T-Mobile Page, the WM5-File....
No of them will work.

Do u have wm6 on your device now?
Can ur device boot into os or not?

But it won't help me.
The Autor wrote this:
"Connect the device up to activesync using the USB cable, then run RUUWrapper.exe"
My Problem: Windows Mobile 5 or 6 doesn't Boot - So i can't use the RUUWrapper....
To enter the "special" BootLoader I need an working WM5 or WM6....
Do you know, what I mean? My english isn't the best.. sorry :-/

4.NO GSM error?(when restarting ur device look out to bottom of the screen, do you see NO GSM)

Until now there is no known sulotion to fix that, unless you want to send ur device to service center!

=> WORKING....
But i think i'll unlock this one by the "T-Mobile-Sim-Unlock-Code".

Go to any vodafone store..make your device back to WM6..
say to the guy @ vodafone store that your going on a holiday.. they will give you a key that unlocks the device..
and your done ! ! ! Works for a friend of mine

I don't think, that a vodafone store will give me a unlock-code for a t-mobile device.... :O
And the next Problem is, that de MDA doesn't boot the OS and have the "no gsm" error....
Can anyone please post a guide on how to flash Hard-SPL onto my HTC TYTN.
The guide for installing Hard-SPL onto the HERMES is not available anymore, and i am EXTREMELY confused about what im doing, and i am afraid i will brick my phone if i do something wrong.

It really isn't hard to do. But be sure you know what you are doing btw. SO read the sticky!
Basically you just download the flavor of Hard SPL you want (I used 2.10 which I can recommend, very easy to downgrade to factory SPL again as I just learned!).
After download unzip the folder and run the RUUWrapper. Follow instructions exactly, do nout unplug your device etc. and it should work like a charm. It takes about 1 minute!
If you don't know what you are doing or you are still doubting, wait for Mr Vanx site to come online again or don't flash. There is always a risk you screw up and end with a $500 brick.
So use at your own risk!

hi guys have tried to update mine today on a jasjam it connects sys it updating but starts at 0% then just jumps to 100% and says flash finished but when i restart the phone it still has the same loader what am i doing wrong i want to update it from windows 5 to windows 6 using crc-9 but don't want to update till i do the loader any help from you guys would be great

start the device in bootloader, what is displayed?
Mine is doing the exact same thing. Starts at 0% and jumps to 100% and says it is done, but it has done nothing.

the SPL flash is VERY quick.
I'll ask YOU this aswell, put your device into bootloader mode and tell us what it says.

thanks for your reply after checking the bootloader it has changed to 2.10 olie it did it so fast i thought it had failed will check properly next time and have successfully flashed it to crc 9 and it runs great thanks for all the help

I appreciate your reply Mr. Vanx. Same as with puca, I put my phone into the bootloader mode and it does indeed show the correct 2.10 Olipro version. This is the 3rd 8525 I have had and I could have SWORN it took much longer on the first 2. Even the update from WM5 to WM6 seemed to take much less time with this particular phone. Guess I shouldn't really complain
Downgrade Error 260
Hi Mr Vanx I have followed your guide to downgrade my current SSPL (2.10 Olipro) to SSPL (1.11). But I keep getting error 260. I have followed guide step by step.
I have even tried flashing from SD-Card (by renaming to HERMING.nbh). Process runs successfully, but nothing happens.
Its still showing SSPL-2.10 Olipro in bootloader. Am I missing anything?

can some one point me to the guide. I am facing a NO GSM problem on vodafone VPA 1605 with following config:
ROM Version: 1.20.161.6
Radio: 1.03.06.00
CID: VODAP001
Bootloader: 1.04
I do not see the radio version or the IMEI. So I would like to do a HARDSPLv7 followed by Radio ROM update to 1.06.00.10. I hope this will work. Seniors may help with their sggestion.

I installed a program for sound, When I do a soft reset it hangs on Blue Imate page and didn't boot.
I tried to hard reset but it dosen't worked too(I know hard reset of it, is Green+FN+Power button) but it don't work, Also I tried to install a fresh Rom but it need to loud windows.
Please help how to hard reset it.

After Flashed with the new ROM, My Device is now stuck in iMate Blue Screen Logo....!!!
But Don't worry Guys...it can be solved with manually hard Reset...
1. Remove battery and reinsert (to make sure the phone is off).
2. Hold down Fn and the Green button (with the phone icon on it) and press the power button.
3. You will see the white hard reset option screen almost immediately. Press the Left Soft Key to hard reset.

mo-bo has some problems like i.e. USB is not working for synchronizing and upgrade, charging is OK, microdrive is not accessible to the only option to upgrade remains via SD card
today during hard reset .... I am stuck on loop of factory reset which is supposed to do hard reset but it does not
after powering up (after completing steps on the screen) the screen is snow white and nothing happens
when I take out the battery and put it back in ... it still gets me to the same point i.e. to hard reset screen yes/no (i.e. press action to restore factory default, press camera key to exit)
can anyone please tell me :
1. how to upgrade my SPL ?
2. how to solve a/m problem ?
and possibly where to find the latest wm60 English ROM for my spl that I can install from SD card
