I have Imate Pocket Pc. I have upgraded it from 1.66 to 1.72 from Club-Imate.com. But the problem is that when I change my SIM, it does not properly get reset and stop working and show LOW RAM indication. I have to Hard reset the device to get it funtional. The problem is that in doing so I loose all my saved data and newly added programs in Pocket_Pc.
Anybody who can help me. I have upgraded my device twice but the result is the same.

please help, ive upgraded the rom from the o2 website and it has lost all the O2 software on the phone (which may not be a bad thing) but it has lost all the pre installed connection settings for the internet.
any ideas how to solve this or reset it back to its original rom settings

A hard reset should restore the settings, I dont understand why the settings are missing, did it go through the auto configuration routine where you choose your country and gsm/gprs prepay etc.?

Mine did the same. I just have "USB v1.01" on the screen whilst it's in its USB cradle. If I take it out it displays "Serial v1.01". Pushing the Hard Reset buttons, and even removing the Battery just results in the same display.

It's mean you have fail to upgrade your Xda II ROM. Anda the ROM have been formated. You can put the Xda in the cradle, and run the original ROm 1.60.44. Good luck!

Having upgraded the radio rom version to 1.17 then tapped the "HimaGetDeviceData.exe" in the window dir, the xda2 went to rest itself then the screen display nothing but only stated "Serial.........v1.01.
Whatever I did hard reset or pull out the battery and sim card, the situation still exist.
Does anyone can help or else my stuff be a piece of iron .
Did you upgrade the radio stack only?
if yes...you can't just upgrade the radio, try to upgrade again with full ROM (OS+radio+ext ROM), it'll work, don't panic...
My XDA2 is dead
Since I have had full rom upgrade however only has the radio been upgraded. When I going to find out what problem was there my xda2 was initiating reset itself then deaded.

I understand that a new ROM upgrade for the PDA2K should
be available from here within about a week. I was wondering if it would
be nessecary to make a HARD RESET to install the new ROM
UPGRADE that should be available within a few days for the PDA2K ?
P.S.
I hope they would also fix the low sensitivity MICROPHONE issue as this is
purely a software and not a hardware issue (with AGC the mic is perfect).

yes it does require a hardreset to work
well when you turn off your xda all the data is still in ram
when you upgrade the rom ram is automaticly cleared
i mean it have to be because the data in ram are from windows
and applications and when you upgrade the rom those programs and
windows applications would no longer be there or be in newer versions
so you dont have to hardreset it youself but it's don automaticly when the upgrade is don
In addition, the O2 documentation supplied with the (official) 1.72.* upgrade states that the upgrade process is quicker if you first hard reset your XDA2.

I have problem here. after i upgrade my rom from german O2 OS to UK o2 OS. My screen keyboard doesnt shows. Here is the following steps that i did to upgrade:
1. device installed with Germany O2 operating system.
2. upgraded to QTEK 2020 OS, with Croations telecom settings.
3. Upgraded again to UK O2 OS.
after the successful installation, i have no problem with the keyboard. It functions normally. but after i install a few games, dictionary and some add-ons program. The keyboard doesnt appear. i cant write any letter, using keyboard, letter recognizer or block recognizer. Moreover, i cant start any program from the program folder.
Can anyone help me with my problem? What actually happens to my system? is there anything to do with the OS or the program that i have installed on my xda?

have you try to soft reset your device??? if it cant solve the problem, try to hardreset device n install back your applications and games...
I have done it twice. and i encountered the same problem.
can this because of the program, that i have installed on my PPC is not compatible to the ROM that is present?
probably thats the problem...you can try to take a hard reset your device..

i have tried hard reset my PPC a few times. and i encountered e same problem. in fact, i have tried to reinstall the windows mobile again. but the problem not seems to be solved...
Now only i figured out, actually the problem occurs, when i took off my battery to change the sim card, or i soft reset the system. Once i got it restarted, it will not start any program, the on screen keyboard and other writings program.
now i am trying to install back to the german rom. is this problem caused by the 1st rom from qtek with croation's settings, that i have installed on my system??

i m using Imate Jasjam (hermes100). i am having a problem with network signals. its just network shows dummy signals. cant make or receive calls.
it all happened when i upgraded it to WM6. i used Hard SPL v9. the rom upgrade was ok. except that it stuck at 100% and gave a message to recover. but the rom upgrade become successful. after that i was having issue of this annoying radio prob. i used radio 1.54.30.10 after that i m using 1.54.07.00. but no change is noticed.
when the radio stops working, i change the 3G setting at Comm manager to auto mode than to GSM mode an it failed to register to network and showed "No service"

This is a very well documented problem with hermes. More and more people are starting to have this problem now.
I had the same problem and I got a new phone under warranty.
Most likely it is a radio hardware problem and probably you will need to have the motherboard changed.
If phone is still under warranty, just get it repaired by HTC. If not then you are probably out of luck.

that is very odd.
my hermes is working perfectly ok except the radio. it has never been bricked. i have flashed it many times. tried all versions of Hard SPL. tried many roms. tried many radio roms. everything installs to the last dip.
but still no success regarding radio signal problem.
i have noticed that when one sim stops showing network, i put other sim having other network coberage and it works. but jus for 10 to 12 hours. after that i have to change it back. and it works for 10 hours. but it really getting me on my nerve
please share if helpful to me.
PLEASE ADVISE ME if i get my Hermes fixed by changing its mother board, should i go for WM6 and newer radio or not.
