Widcomm Bluetooth Stack Phone Edition Available!! - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Looks like ID64 has provided it for us. The bluetooth files are located on his FTP server at
ftp://akira:[email protected]
File Name 6315BT.zip
Please.. Who ever did the Bluetooth GPS... Help us out.. this is the phone edition widcomm stack and will/should work with the BT headset during phone calls.

How can I install this application?

Can't install, needs's developing
You can't install this application yet. This is out there for those who made the Bluetooth GPS work with the Widcomm stack.
We need someone out there to work with the old BluetoothGPS (original Widcomm solution) and work with these new files. We'll have a better bluetooth stack than the MS Stack.
So.. In short, this message is out there to attract the developers.

Maybe it's possible.
Maybe if someone still has Bluetooth GPS and can install it.. Then if they copy over these files on top of it, it will work.
Does anyone have the original BluetoothGPS.zip?

The files are fine, but there is no included registry settings.
We need more info
(an export of the whole registry would be a good idea)

WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400
Compared file for file in kind between BlueTooth GPS and the WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400 generally the later are leaner in terms of size.
The former however has more *.dll(s) - probably being an older version.
I have consolidated a list of files BTGPS installed in Xda II but was unable to make a copy but I shall try other ways to later.
After a full backup I plan to dump the WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400 files over the BTGPS. Filenames seem to have been kept intact betweeen the two versions so hopefully the registry will not get screwed.

Registry is there
Someone has uploaded the registry. This should help

WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400
Overwritten BlueToothGPS with WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400 without problems but unable to initialize BlueTooth.
Will try to update registry later tonight.

Hello: I got it sorted and have put it on a new thread....

WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400
Good job icarusbop!
I already had BlueTooth GPS installed and running ok for a long time. Went on to overwrite it with the 6315BT files from the FTP server earlier but BlueTooth was unable to initialize.
Found out the BTTrayCE 1.0.0.1400 was not compatible somehow and causing conflict. Replaced it with the older BlueTooth GPS version and everything worked out fine. Nothing was done to my registry no changes was necessary - the old BlueTooth GPS registry was still holding up.
I may try your 1.4.1.59/60 if I run into problems. Thanks Bro.
P/S : This stack initializes very fast, no initialization or hardware errors, no incompatibilty issues with MS stack and very stable - left to test is the headset option.

Re: WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400
Would you mind explaining step by step how did you do your setup... Just curious... Do you have problem using your headset? Have you tried it yet... ? Thanks!

Steps
Not at all Bro. Well to begin with as I have mentioned I already had BlueTooth GPS installed.
I downloaded the 6315BT zip file from the FTP server extracted the files and plonked them over the BTGPS files in my Xda II. There were several files that needed to be renamed in order to overwrite completely - renamed files can later be deleted after reset - BTTrayCE.exe file should be skipped as I found the new version conflicts with Xda II MS stack.
As for the headset I have yet to test as I do not own one. Been hoping to get one but I haven't had the time to do so. Sorry.
I will see if anyone at work has a headset and give it a whirl.

Good Job!
OMFG
Where are my manners? Forgotten to thank NeoCole and ID64!
Thanks guys - NeoCole and ID64 - you guys rulez!

Re: Steps
Thanks for your reply Bro.... I have another question, Do you have two BT icon on the bottom-right of your screen or MS-BT icon goes away?
Thanks!

No sweat Bro. Anytime Man.
There are still two - the same with BlueTooth GPS. Both works perfectly but individually.

Do you have the problem with "cant initialize" after softresetting, or does it just work perfectly?

No initialization problem since installation and startup yesterday. So far so good - yes even after several soft resets and wake after long standby time still no errors. Yeah I would say it's been working perfectly Bro.

Sorry. The truth is I didn't take note Bro. I renamed one by one as the copying process prompted that the files are in ROM. You can do the same. A post by mamaich has named a few of these files that needs to be renamed.
An easier solution would be to use icarusbop's 1.4.1.59/60 upgrade.
Please note that mine is only the BlueTooth GPS upgrade to WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400 whereas mamaich's and icarusbop's is from 1.4.1.59/60 to WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400. Theirs would be a better and newer version.
Here are screenshots of the WIDCOMM BT-PPC/PE 1.0.0 Build 1400 that I have installed.

Hi all, I was asking about if this BT solution has somenthing to do with Qtek2020 problem with BT headset and BT car kit management. I mean if I'd install BT Widcomm Bt Stack and 6315BT.zip, could I use both togheter?
Thanx a lot!

widcomm for 2003se

hey, searched the forum a bit but there is no real answer to this one..
where can i get the widcomm btstack for 2003se. i'm using 1.5.0.0801 from mamaich but it's not working properly..
edit: not working correctly meaning freezing today screen items like CT PLUS, spb plus. sometimes freezing entire ppc, start menu not accesible etc..
my widcomm stack 1.5.0.0801 is not conflicting with other apps ( spb apps, etc. ) but always display "could not be correctly initialized " when other apps is opened. we all know that widcomm stack is memory hogger..i think there is a .reg patch to apply to make it more stable in SE..
i have the same probs as dutty
Widcomm BT 1.5
Hi Guys!
First of all:
Copy all the BT files to windows directory, then place the BTCE in windows\startup
Second:
Use the regeditor and delete the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth
Use the reeditor and delete de HKLU\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth
soft-reset the pda...and that's all folks!!! the bt works like a charm, you can put the BT in "ON" and soft-reset your device that it connects again without problems!!
Sorry....
I forgot to say that you must run the file with the reg settings that exists in this forum.
errr cant find it (the reg) ^^
Here it goes....
Well... i'm sending in attach the file.
Cheers!
Sorry....
I forgot the file...
well, thx for the reg, but same prob as before

i already did that procedures before and my BT stack is working but as i said, it intermitently flashes " could not be initialized" when you opened an app, said internet explorer. it seems to hog all of my memory...i reckon a .reg patch to prevent it. ( just forget where.. )
PS.
upon applying that .reg. you should run this patch for the sound to run well..

where is the widcomm software itself since we already have the registry patch?
thanks
tried on the MDA Compact, doesn't run (same thing for the 1.4.59).

Internet Sharing on AKU2 ROMs

I like the way the Internet sharing works on the new ROM, with simply starting the program and plugging it in. Is there anyway to make this work for the old ROMs?
Thanks, Lew
P.S. I just cant stand the loss of soooo many hardware buttons on the Cing rom. I may try the test rom =)
havent tried this as it is embedded into the OS, not sure of the dependicies required also... i will do some testing tonight for you and let you know... have you tried copying the exe's from the new rom onto your old one and running them?
i was looking into this this past weekend and tried to get internet sharing off the new cingular rom working on the softbank rom (aku2.6). first of all, you can't just copy the files directly from the \windows dir, you have to unpack the os.nb file and pull the files off that way. i don't know what the dependencies are either so i just pulled four files:
intshrui.exe
intshare.dll
intshrui (shortcut in \windows)
internet sharing (shortcut in programs)
and two registry settings.
i put it all into a cab (attached) and tried to install it on the softbank rom but no go. i get an error that says something to the affect of "intshrui.exe is not a valid pocket pc application". i'm not sure if that means i'm just missing needed dlls or if the executable itself is hard-coded to look for an aku value > 3. if you guys figure out what dlls are needed, let me know and i'll update the cab.
Unfortunately, it can't be THAT easy - the BT stack has also been heavily modded in AKU3 to include the BT PAN (and to get rid of BT DUN) profile. Try including the MS BT stack-related DLL's too.
I dont "need" it to work over bluetooth (although it would be nice) I would settle for usb.

but i believe that the application has bluetooth dependencies so inturn will not load...
Has anyone managed this? I'd be interested in whacking this onto my Works's M3100 which won't get AKU 3.3 / WM6 until:
(a) Orange UK release it
(b) the IT chaps sign it off
Soooo the day after never !
I have a Softbank X02HT (a HTC Cavalier Smartphone) - they cripple Internet Sharing by removing the required bits (so that you have to pay big bugs for PC data).
I got the files and registry keys installed and I can see the GUI, but the content of the selection options for "PC Connection" and "Network Connection" are blank - (the values are missing)...
Has anyone else got this working yet?

Cingular 8125 G4 and Bluetooth

I've been reading through these forums for a few days now and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Basically, I want to be able to listen to my 8125 through stereo bluetooth headphones. As I understand it I need to enable A2DP. I've seen a lot of topics on the G3 side of things but before I try anything I would like to confirm which ROM I need for a G4 to make this work.
I have the tools package and ruu_480 package that should build a new ROM while leaving the IPL/SPL alone in my CID-Locked 8125. So I think all I need is the .nb portion that enables A2DP. And, if I've read everything correctly, I should be able to use typho5 to extract the proper .nb piece I need for this from whatever ROM I eventually get.
So, the short version of this is: What ROM do I need to get to enable A2DP on my CID-Locked 8125 G4? And what piece of that ROM, specifically, do I need to include in a cooked ROM?
G4 CID LOCKED w/ A2DP
WM6 MB edition have A2DP included on ROM. I have it running on my 8125 CID locked.
connect your phone w/ activesync, when its done click explore. drag and drop these 2 files to that folder. Go to you phone and click file explorer from programs. If u dont see those 2 files at the bottom then click the My documents folder and u should see them there. click a2dpfix.cab 1st and when it installs reset your phone(tiny reset button next to your camera button) repeat with other file and reset again. Install your headphones and u should see a new profile....stereo headset...make sure thats clicked and setup your BT normally. thats pretty much it.
Thanks to whoever supplied these files as they are not mine, I as well was in your position 4 days ago and all I wanted to do was connect my HT820's. Have fun
so what is the difference between the zoa2dp.cab you have listed and the zoa2dp_113.cab I have installed already?
Does anyone know if this A2DP fix will work on Dopod 818?
You guys are awsome! thanks very much for your hard work.
Cingular 8125 with Jabra BT620s.
After applying the files gotten off this thread, Jabra works well with Cingular 8125, except that the audio occasionally drops out for a couple of seconds. Anyone know of a fix for this?

Also, I've noticed everyone tell me that my voice is not clear when I use my bluetooth handsfree (I've tried 2-3 of them, with same result). Am I missing something here?

Fix for audio issue!

http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=133&cat=0&dl_id=538
It's for the Diamond, but assuming it works on the Raph, Da_G, can you work your magic and integrate whatever's needed from here into your kitchen(s)?
OEM_Misc.dll
Extracted Diamond_audioplayback.exe contents, verified _Setup.xml, Platformxxx.reg and CM_Entries.xml:
- No registry changes
- Attached file is copied to .\Windows folder on device
Place file in .\OEM\OEMDrivers if cooking in kitchen.
Cheers,
Thanks -- trying it in my own ROM now ...
hilaireg is way ahead of me
ill check it out when i get home from the hospital! sounds good
Super-newbie question: What did you use to extract it from the EXE?
@Da_G:
Figured your queue was full enough as it is
@Wordsmith9091:
I used WinRAR 3.3 (IZArc 3.81 couldn't open the .EXE). Once it was extracted, I had a look at _setup.XML as it contains the short-to-long filename conversion details.
I renamed the pertinent files (previous post) and had a look at the content in those to ensure that there were no special requirements.
I used IZArc 3.81 to .ZIP up the file so that it could be posted here.
Thanks -- I learn a new trick every time I come to this site
Just tried building my ROM with it, all seems well so far, though I havne't played enough audio to test yet ...
... but I lost the ability to set button assignments other than Button-1-hold in the buttons panel -- it's like the stock behavior. Is that also controlled by this DLL?
Edit: Never mind, I'm a moron, this issue had nothing to do with this DLL
I don't think so ... the Stock HTC ROM only included "Button 1" which drives me crazy.
I've got a task on my list to deal with that I soon as I'm done some other kitchen related stuff.
I'll post up - unless someone beats me to it - once I figure out how to get button mapping.
Cheers,
I can't be 100 percent sure it's what interfered with button mapping, but it's the only thing I can think of that i've done different between builds.
Since this fix only requires a single DLL copied to the \Windows folder, I was able to cab it up using ChainFire's DriverWiz tool, and install it. I stream music via A2DP during every car ride, so I'll be able to test this on my ride home. I'll attach the cab if anyone else wants to try it as well.
You make me proud Captain
Following your lead, I have attached a .ZIP that can be used in a kitchen; to use:
Extract the .ZIP to the PACKAGES folder.
Verify that the <GUID>'s on the .DSM don't collide with ones you are currently using.
Remove the OEM_MISC.DLL from the .\OEM\OEMDrivers folder.
Cook away.
Note:
Tested on Da_G's (ERAS2R/Me) 21042 kitchen.

HTC Diamond Hotfix..
Many thanks Captain_Throwback for the CAB, am testing Music Player now. The HTC version will not install on the Orange Diamond says 'Not Compatible'.
... 25mins in..clean as a whistle!!
....3 albums in, job done.
Never mind on the button-mapping question. I realize what I did (I think). HAd nothing to do with this dll.
Any info you can pass my way?
hilaireg -- PMed you.
Well, I drove around for a bit after cooking this in and reflashing, and I still got some skips listening to music in Kinoma Play. Don't know if that's Kinoma's fault or if it's a symptom of the problem this is meant to address. I wasn't getting any skipping with the TF3D player even before applying this.
improvement?
I saw a noticeable improvement in the length of pauses in between my songs while streaming over A2DP (though it did get stuck on me after about 20 minutes). Its better than it was . . . I think. I don't know if there's really a scientific way to test this, really. Maybe the problem this is supposed to address isn't that at all. Maybe we need to find someone who actually KNOWS they have this problem, so we can see if the fix really helps.

I have a Diamond on the Orange Network with the stock HTC 1.93 ROM. It used to skip every 5 mins but after installing your CAB it is now perfect, not a glitch. I am a very happy bunny. Thanks for your work Captain..

So where did this come from? Would be nice to have more information than what you've currently posted, please elaborate..
In addition, most of the newer roms have the aGPS working, so the gps issue is a moot point.
Which GPS problem I wonder, I can think of 4, one being aGPS (which works great now after 5.08 AT&T)
There's also the issue of 'speed lag' and then the issue of 'position lag', and finally the issue of 3rd party gps programs not showing satellites/losing fix every xxx seconds/etc.
/me snags the goodies

Anyone actually worked out what this does yet?
Ok, so this installs cleangpsdata.exe to \Windows (same ver that can be found on blackstone and other stock msm 72xx ROMS)
It copies a link into \windows\startup (same as the cleangpsdata package from blackstone does)
The functionality of the cleangpsdata program is simple, it opens the GPS0: hardware port and sends an IOCTL to wipe out the stored epheremis and other cached data in the chipset's NVRAM.
The problem this is intended to fix would seem to be extremely long startup times for gps (due to bad cached data that needs to be cleaned out)
With aGPS functioning it should have no effect; without aGPS it should only have an effect if your cached gps data gets corrupted for some reason and a quickgps re-download/re-inject won't fix it.
i'm wondering if it's works with WM6.5
So as a chef, would you recommend cooking in this fix and executing it in config operator or just cooking in clean gps and creating the startup link in app.dat??
Same effect either way (cleangpsdata as a package, i.e. from blackstone or this hotfix .exe)
I used to cook it in prior to aGPS being fixed.
Also, there's no relation to WM 6.5 with this hotfix, it talks to gpsdriver.dll, which is compiled independantly of the OS.
In addition, if you snag the latest HTC GPS Tool, there's a "Cold Start" menu option in it - sends the same IOCTL!
I do not use aGPS and am a bit scred to install this hotfix
I'm in Canada...I have no assistance server for AGPS...so would this help?
well I just tried installing it on my fuze which runs energyrom 3.0 the May 22nd build and it says "incorrect version, this hotfix is not compatible with your device.
Re: Not having an assistance server for AGPS
There are several publicly accessible servers available, check out the agps thread, as long as you have a data plan you should have no problem getting agps working with a few registry tweaks

Check your \windows folder; you probably already have cleangpsdata cooked in.
are you guys (who are using this hotfix) having the data plan?
or do you have entire map saved on the storage card?
Not that I've bad reception but after all this time from htc to post an answer to gps issue I had to install it and tried it..
Did not tested yet, tomorrow will post if I see any difference! Maybe it will take longer, cause it cleans the gps data all the time i reset. Or am I wrong?
@zenithcoolest: I use maps always on storage card... Data Plan is expensive and it's impossible to use with frequency!

It didn't do jack-squat for me. Well, instead of getting a fast lock like I was getting yesterday, I had to wait five minutes. So it did do something.
