I tried to update my device rom from 1.60.00 to 1.60.50,
my device is not responding after the update, on the screen it displays the word "Serial" on the upper side of the screeen and "v 1.06" on the bottom.
please help me
No worries, youre in the bootloader.
Just disconnect (take out of cradle)
Go into bootloader (if not allready there: power / reset / d-pad)
Re-connect (cradle)
Restart upgrade

ok, don't lose it just yet.
first thing to try is the "vulcan death grip" on the pda; simultaneously press the power button, soft-reset button, and middle button on the scroller on the front of the PDA to enter bootloader mode, if you do it right, then the version number will appear at the bottom of the screen (i.e v1.06) and you will thus be in bootloader mode.
failing that, remove the battery from the PDA, and leave it like that for about an hour so the backup battery can die, then put the battery back in and pray it enters bootloader mode.
i can't do kitl mode, after presing com + power +ok buton nothing happen, also com + power + reset, it just reset the unit, can someone help, thanks
AFAIK not all roms have KITL enabled.
Okay a dumb question since I couldn't find the info from the forums.. What is this KITL and since it's not enabled in all ROMs, are there a way to enable it or are there any original shipped roms with this KITL enabled?
I think i've a serious problem.

So i guess there is really no other way than to send the device to the repair center ... :-(
I only wanted to update to the WM6 official firmware. I will phone with the repair center tomorrow morning and here what they will say.
If anyone else has any idea what i could to to unbrick my device i would appriciate any help. But i think all what i could try has already be done.
I also have a SPL-2.03 Bricked Hermes... but I cannot get to the KITL mode, nothing happens and I stil lget the tri-color screen.. is there any updates on how to get to KITL, or how to unbrick without getting to KITL? And by the way, what KILT stands for?? Thanks
and by the way, when I try to get to KITL pressing the suggested buttons I get a flash of a white screen saying "no image file" it´s just a flash, then it gets to the tri-color screen. It seems to recognize the USB, as when I connect the phone, it says USB underneath the PDA screen... Pls Help!
I had the same problem a few months ago. My lil sis cell (TyTn aka 8525) just crashed on her and when I got it to do a soft reset it, booted up to the tricolor. Here's what i did:
1. Disable ActiveSync: connections -- settings -- uncheck "Allow USB Connections"
2. Remove the battery, put it back in, connect the USB cable, power on the unit (this should allow the USB port to be opened again)
3. Wait a minute or two, if you get a message that device cannot be recognized just close and ignore it
4. Open mtty.exe and select "USB" from the dialog box, then hit Ok.
5. You should see a white screen, hit enter and you should see a prompt like this: "USB>" (for some reason, I got Cmd>)
6. Type set 14 0 (do not copy and paste!!!) and hit enter
7. Soft reset with stylus
8. OS ROM and radio version should be back and OS functional, the unit isn't a BRICK anymore! (after the "set 16 0" I got it to boot but "No GSM" cell is non-functional but PDA functions work)
9. if it doesn't unbrick, repeat all the steps but with the command set 16 0

Do I have to buy a mini SD card reader or can I use tools to do this from my PC.
If so which tools please and briefly how.

Although a search would solve your problem here is a mini how to:
- you need to have ParchedRUU (this includes these files: EnterBootLoader.exe, Patched_RUU.exe, ROMUpdateUtility.exe, RUUGetInfo.exe and finaly your_bootloader_name.nbf) all in the same directory. The files are availabe on the net just google it.
- establish an activesync connection with USB, to do so have the phone in standby mode (no bootloader mode)
- when connected in activesync (green icon on taskbar) run the Patched_RUU.exe
- make sure you tick the boxes and the next button and that phone battery is greater than 50%
- in the final screen hit the update button, if the .nbf is in the same directory as the Patched_RUU it will load it automatically
- wait for 3 minutes, during this time you phone will enter bootloader mode, and a red bar will show the progress on the phone and the computer
you are all done

again search m8!
anw here it goes:
- go to active sync -> settngs -> disable USB connections
- switch off your phone, and while holding the camera button connect it to the USB, on the screen it will appear "Need UI upgrade? (0)" or something like that.. bottom line is press 0
- then phone enters bootloader mode. if on the lower bar i think it is the green bar it says hurricane and on the right UI then it is all good, if it says something like XIP or something then you have to switch it off and do the proccess from the begining with the camera button REMEMBER TO PRESS THE 0
- fire up the mtty.exe, remember put mtty.exe AND the bin in the C:\ directory. The only thing you need to change in the startup screen of mtty is the connection port change from com1 or something to usb and press ok
- press enter so the Cmd> shows on the blank terminal
- write without quotes "l c:\name_of_your_rom.bin" and hit enter. l is a small L short for load
- hopefully it will do the update, wait for ~10 mins and it will say that it is all done... depending on your rom you may have to change language and so...

Just follow my guide in the signature, but use huricane ROM instead, you need to get into the bootloader and enable AS USB mode, then run the RUU

after a while without flashing i want to flash the new Shamanix Rom.
So i loaded it, started the application, but after i press "auto detect" on the Bootloader Selection it says "Unknown Version".
So i went to Mrvanx Guide:

and tried to flash HardSPL.
The strange thing is, that the flash went through in about 1 second.
The Status Bar was 0 and jumped up to 100 Percent.
This is why i think it didn't work, but if go into the bootloader mode it shows "SPL 2.10 olipro"
After that i tried again to flash Shamanix Rom and selected Bootloader 1.10 manually. The devices goes into bootloader-mode, but instead of starting to flash i get the Error "260 - Couldn't connect to device"
Can Somebody give me a hint please?

WHY.....would you select bootloader 1.10??? Your bootloader version is 2.10.olipro.
Errr, you can come over and slap me right in the face for this stupidity.
I really don't know what i was "thinking". After selecting Bootloader 2.10 it flashed without Problems.
we all have our moments...............but need to be a wee bit careful with these devices....they can become very can·tan·ker·ous !

press and hold the button on the left side next to the scroll wheel and the power button on the right side at the same time....while holding the buttons down insert the stylus into the soft reboot hole on the bottom of the phone.........continue holding the buttons for a second or two after releasing the reset button at the bottom.

I only have a dumped version of RUU_Nike_Vodafone_ESN_1.31.164.09_Ship.exe , I'm not sure it will help you but at least you can give it a try, you can download the rom HERE

You better started HERE instead of using MTTY, it's harder to recover than to brick, most of the time people brick their device by using the command task 2a.
For now there are 2 options.
1. Perform a hardreset :
To perform a hard reset on a device that is not responding to input or not booting to Windows, first remove the back cover of the device. Hold the "call" and "end call" keys on the front of the device and reset the device by sticking the stylus into the small hole to the left side of the USB port. The device will ask for confirmation. To confirm, press the "Enter" key on the keypad. On some devices you need to press the "Action" key instead of "Enter".
The device will reboot and be reset to factory settings.
2. Try Frankenkaiser, see this post.

to write the security unlock commands
it my bee a chance with this "FrankenKaiser"

I think the biggest problem is that your device wasn't unlocked before you bricked it, can you tell me what your device is doing now are is it complete dead.

Ok, your phone is doing more than mine, I also had a white screen and try to flash the original rom, that didn't work so I tried the wwe 2.16 version and it started flashing but stops at 69%, now I have an Upgrade ROM code error in my bootloader, the biggest problem with your phone is that you don't have an hardspl, now I'm reading this post.
I'll keep you informed when I found something.
