For a few of you the intellidialer or Smart dialer feature is in the extended rom here but you must be running WM2003SE on your Himalaya to use it.
I recently purchased the mini from Hong Kong with WWE on it. Nice device but the audio quality is just crap compared to the Himalaya, I guess I will be sticking with my 2020 for the time being. The size of the mini is really nice and the cam is a definite upgrade but I just can't sacrifice the audio quality for the size no matter what.

You are suppose to be able to post the file through FTP. The access is strangely missing....
I am pulling in your file from the FTP site....
For info, (if you don't already know), you can access the FTP site through Web Browser: ftp://xda:[email protected]/o2mini/
These files should be ploaded via ftp and placed in the ftp root.
Then you create the posting an link the uploaded file to it via the selectionbox/button (which is only present when there are new unlinked files in the ftp root.
Dual Sim Cab
I extarcted the rom and found a file dual sim cab.
hey can anyone tell me what does the file dualsim.cab does?
pls any one
Not sure what the dual sim does so I have left it out of the next extended rom for the Himalaya I am building.
Currently i dont have ftp acces, can anyone post the dualsim cab.
I am able to examine it.
I am currently in possesion of something called a ghost sim.
This allows you to place two sim cards simultaneously into your xda2 through an adapter and switch networks/phone number etc without swapping over the sim card all the time. Unfortunatelly my unit will not recognise the adapter whereas I know earlier versions to my unit do.
I've unlocked my xda2 so I can use my vodafone sim on it and obviously tried to run the two side by side in order to only carry one phone.
I dont have ftp access so I cant test the cab file but I would assume from the title that this is the software required to allow the ghost sim to operate correctly?
hi JPS
i m also ghost dual sim but the cab is not making any difference to it.
previously also i was using one operator at time after installing the cab also same.
i have tried it on both XDA II & XDA IIS so i cannot understand what does this patch actually does.
bye!
RE
Can use for O2 XDA II?
Can somebody upload here?
What are the new changes?
BT using v1.2?
Thanks

Could someone PLZ upload this O2 Mini ExtROM file using the regular method:
1. Upload via FTP in to the xda-developers ftp ROOT!!
2. Post new/reply message in which you link to the uploaded file
If you do it this way it works, otherwise the files are automatically deleted!!
Neuro senses tell me....

I sensed a frustrated soul..........
uploaded the file to the ftpsite, dude.
at last .... thank u very much my friend 8)
I am also a ghost dual SIM holder user and I use two different SIMs there are two ways by which you can access the two different sims (one at a time though).
1.) soft rest
2.) switch off phone and switch on
or turn on flight mode and turn off flight mode
May be, (just may be) the dual sim cab is an auto-configure program for the two different sims settings (GPRS, MMS,Internet,Wap, etc)
Right now I do it manually of using the auto config.
Please (somebody) upload the extracted dual sim cab. and we will explore altogether.

I have installed the T-mobile 1.72 Beta ROM update on my O2 XDA. Everything has installed just fine and it appears to be working great. The addition of the Fax module is really welcome although a little buggy has allowed me to send a number of faxes.
The BT stack now gives me an extra option on my Widcom BT software on my desktop pc. It seems much more stable than the O2 stack.
My only problem is that all my MMS, SMS, GPRS and WAP settings are for T-Mobile UK and not O2 Ireland. I have tried to enter them manually with little success.
After reading through some of the other threads would it be possible to take the relevant cab files from an O2 1.60 (latest ROM) Extended ROM and copy them onto my PDA and then run them to install the settings? I also miss the O2 Active screen and would like to install that as well. If this is possible could and please tell me that it is!!!! Would someone be kind enough to send me the relevant Cab files?
Many thanks in advance for any help or advice.
Paul
I think its posted on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=8515
On page 2. There is a modified extendend rom.
Thanks for the mail
I have downloaded the extended ROM that you mentioned but it seems to just contain the T-Mobile stuff. I would like a copy of the O2 Extended ROM if possible and just install the O2 settings and Active.
Thanks
Paul
If you have an old backup, you can replace that with the new one you have now. And then runt the desired CAB files (Camera, mms, andsoon) from the new 1.72 upgrade.
Here you go mate...
Attached is a ZIP file, containing a folder.
In it, are ALL the O2 files found in an O2 Extended ROM, as per 1.60.00 ROM Upgrade, O2 WWE.
I am not sure exactly which CAB is the settings file (can anyone tell me what the GPRS settings file CAB is called in an extended ROM), so you will have to find it yourself.
It also includes the O2 Active stuff.
Hope it helps.
Download it quick, becuase I'm not sure the legalities of posting it here, and also its a big file, so using up a lot of my space, so I wanna delete it soon.
Thanks
Thanks Shadamehr
I downloaded the ROM ran the Cabs and I now have O2 connection settings and O2 active. Thank you so much.
My next project is to copy the o2 files to the extended 1.72 ROM so that if I require a hard reset it will install the O2 stuff and the newer 1.72 files etc.
Out of interest the application for unhiding and unlocking the Extended ROM requires the sending of "arguments" how do you do this on Pocket PC. i am familiar with doing this on a desktop PC. Any help would again be appreciated.
Thanks to you all.

Er, you've totally lost me mate.
For the Unlocker, all I do, is copy the cab file for it over to my XDA2, then use File Manager on the XDA2 to locate the file, and click to run.
This installs it.
Then, if you go into programs, there is a new folder, next to games, for the extRom tools.
Open that, and you can hide/unhide, and lock/unlock the extended ROM.
It sometimes requires a soft reboot.
When it is unlcoked and unhidden, you can simply delete all files in it, and copy the whole O2 folder contents into it that I posted.
Then, after a hard reset, it will install all the programs in the extended rom.
Not sure what all these 'argument' things are you mention mate, sorry.
Sorted!!!
Did not see the programme group had been using the application via the file explorer and it was asking for "arguments". Thanks for the help.

hi all,
I am looking to upgrade my himalaya to wm2005.I was scared to death when i was upgrading my device to 2003se, but with the help of xdajojo& others, I was able to upgrade very easily with diamond1.2 from omegared. Now I have been reading on how to upgrade to 2005 by xdajojo but to be frank, despite the beautiful way everything has been arranged, I cant understand most of it...I did try to upgrade but then I got the country id error(I have no idea what that means), I reffered to certain posts but that was all alien language to me :? .I really wish I could upgrade to wm2005, with all the talks around about how good the feel is i just cant wait, but the procedure seems difficult.I am also concerned about the RAM problem, as I dont understand most of the discussions about that(am I the only fool here? ).Anyway, is there a simpler way to do all this like we did with diamond or I would just be deprived of the cool wm2005?
Please guys I need help on this. Thanks eveyone.
Download these files:
Activesync (Direct Link)
Windows Mobile 2003 ROM Editior ( Direct Link)
Patch (Direct Link)
HimaUpgrateUT (Direct Links)
nk.nbf (Direct link) I made a direct link to a other ftp
Than read this topic: (Tread Url)
It's very easy actually. Remember, Windows 2005 is still very buggy. Don't put your screen into Landscape, If your do a softreset the screen is back to Portrait and the "actually" screen is still in Landscape!!
Check out the XDA FTP folder for Himalaya2005. There is the new version with the full RAM.
Download the .rar file from within this folder, unzipp it on your PC into a folder, then run the .exe file within this folder. Done
Of course, you first have to put your XDAII into bootloader mode before you run the .exe file. (bootloader mode: Powerbutton, resetbutton + directional pad left).
Cheers

Hi,
I have upgrade it to WM2005. But my SDIO wifi not working and the storage memory is only left 9mb. Is there anything to be done after the upgrade? What about those people discussing Ramdisk or something like that and those .cab file?
Thanks
rmhtoh, have you upgraded with the latest FULL RAM version? I think you still used the old limited RAM version. Check out the FTP folder Himalaya2005. The new version is there.
That will solve the memory problem. You don't need the RAM disk anymore.
For the SDIO WLAN, download the SMARTPHONE driver from socket. There is another post in this forum about it.

I dont think you can land to bootloader screen without pressing the power button.
to get into boot loader mode
just run the setup once with the hima clearcode file and then u will land up in bootloader mode. and then it will give error and then run the setup and it will work..
cheers..

Yeah, just make sure you put this file (HimaClearJumpCode.exe) in the same folder (on the PC) and execute HimaUpgradeUt.exe.
WARNING: Do not copy HimaClearJumpCode.exe to your Pocket PC!!!
If it fails, try it again and will go through just fine the second time.
Before I flashed the new Test-Rom (Aku3.3 - i had the original MDA-VarioII-Rom from TMOB Germany) I was able to log in to Planet3/3-Homezone with the trick, that I changed Registry-values to say the 3-server, that I´m with a NokiaN70-phone and not the HTC-Hermes.
With flashing the new rom the Registry-Changes take no effect...
Has anyone an Idea?

The problem is: The User Agent of the Pocket Internet Explorer isn't sent with the URL-Request.

I have the same problem with 3 Hong Kong. I downloaded the technical preview of Netfront 3.4 and there U can set the user agent as :
Nokia6680/1.0 (Symbian OS/8.0 ;Nokia; Series60/2.06)/Netfront3.3
Everything works now except Streaming Media and video download. I tried using Dopod838pro/mozillia/4.01 before..but I have problem access text news. However, I could get the link of streaming video and copy the link to stream player myself to play the video. Since I don't watch video much, I just use the user agent that works with text news best. I am sure you can find a better user agent setting. I just use the first one that works for me.

Works perfect, but I can´t get the videos running....
Maybe somebody who uses the XDA Live ROM can zip the hidden system-files (4 files) which are starting with IE in Windows-directory. Then I can move them to my ROM with a proggy, and the Bug is away!
You will need the 3MobileTVonWM5Device.zip from Up/Download-Area after registering at http://www.umtslink.at/3g-forum
THE PROB WITH THE STREAMING PLAYER: SAME PROBLEM WITH 3 IN AUSTRIA, BUT I SOLVED THIS PROBLEM LONG AGO.
First you need to get the 3-Page running on your TyTN, then
(Who already has HTC Stream Media installed can start at Point 3)
1. copy the files from 3MobileTVonWM5Device.zip to /Windows on HTC TyTN
2. copy the StreamingVideo.lnk to /Windows/Start Menu/Programs
3. install 838Pro_Streaming_v210.cab to Device-Memory on HTC TyTN (XDA Trion,....)
4. Soft reset
5. open Streamingplayer in Programs and as Connection set the 3-Internetconnection
6. 3Planet MobileTV Link works.

Only a reset helps.
See posting #13: Flexible User Agent PIE V2 released
If you installed the first Release, simply select the overwritten files in Windows-directory and delete them, the original ones from static ROM will be replaced automaticly. Then install the two files from new zip, and smile.
For more info see post #13
I unzip the file and copy the resulting files to storage card in phone and then inside the phone through "File Explorer" copy that two files to folder under Windows, I got the following error message.
Pls advise if the method to copy file is incorrect or is there any method to solve this problem. Thanks.
Cannot copy "browser" : Access is denied.
Hi,
I can browse all the contents & see all streaming after changing the registry and overwriting both the browser dll and webview dll files under phone windows directory( from the zip file)
But it created another problem.... I cannot open any sms message or write any sms after the change .
I used the spb backup (ghost) and I have no problem at sms again, then I only overwritten the browser dll only to the phone windows directory ( did not overwrite the webview dll) , it now works for both sms and IE browsing !!!b

I jut ran it quickly but only had time for a quick look. Initially seemed OK for internet but PIE would not connect (said connection error) - ran out of time and so reran the cab I use for settings (rabdos original cab I think) and then the connection worked.
Might look at it again later.

Don't Quote Me On This One But, If You Dont Connect Your Hermes To Your PC And Then Run This Installer For The Language You Want. The Cab File That You Tried To Install Gets Saved To A Temp Folder To Be Installed The Next Time You Connect Your Device.
So Install The German And Austrian Languages Without Connecting Your Hermes, Then Search For The Cab Files. Copy Them Onto Your Device Then You Just Run Them When You Swap Between Countries.
Someone Please Correct Me If Im Wrong

You execute the installation sofware without phone connected, and get a message that says "next time you connect your phone, the soft installs". Before click in OK, search in Temp folder for the CAB. You will find it.
If you click OK, the installation software deletes the CAB.

Need some advice folks. Currently on an assignment in Australia and have just upgraded my Cingular 8125 to a Dopod 838 Pro. I'm with Telstra. Problem is any time I reboot the phone, the Network Wizard executes and errors out. Fine. I manually load Network settings but then i find out a couple of hours later that my manual settings have just disappeared.
I've scoured this site and see that I can do a variety of things, including loading the latest JasJam ROM. Regardless, whats the issue and short of doing a ROM upgrade (did plenty on my 8125, so it doesnt frighten me) what can i do?
Please advise.

Theres a file on DopodAsia's wedsite for Tesltra users, it enables newer settings. You put it in your MyDocs folder on the Dopod, and basically boot up. It uses the file, updates Network Wizard and will work properly. Its due to Tesltra's codes changing and the launch of NextG.

You wont be able to get these files unless you have a dopod serial to register with. I would suggest maybe you flash the newest telstra rom instead of the 838

Thanks folks for so many rapid responses... I was able to get the Network Wizard "fix" from Dopod's Australian service center yesterday. Unfortunately, I purchased the phone from ebay and the previous owner had already registered the serial number, so it's not letting me re-register. I've called Dopod directly to proces my registration, but they've not called me back yet.
simon_darley: will that .cab file set all the required settings on WM6? (I am considering upgrading to WM6, and a Cab file with all the Telstra settings would be nice and easy)
Does it add any of the Telstra software?
telstra aust cabs
the previous cab was the old one from the original rom released when the phone was sold and was incomplete so far as mms and other settings.
attached here is the latest from a new imate rom compulsory for telstra users and in conjunction with telstra proposed phone/data upgrade of their system should work more effectively.
i also use the telstra recommended imate radio upgrade 1.38.30.1 i think it is.
all of which runs perfectly now on wm6 including the wm6 media streaming which imate wm5 requires pvplayer as ms didnt release media streaming until wmK.
so now it works perfectly with foxtel video streaming and in 2 wks should allow simultaneous voice data connectivity which the telstra hw upgrade shouldfix for us.
i also include the my place cab which allows foxtel and videos to stream without using the download mb limits. so if u access foxtel via my place over next g it doesnt count towards the mb usage.
i have all the cabs from the upgrade and post them here for what i used only but in reality u may only need 1 or 2. i have all but installed only 5.
the ext rom in full is on xda dev if u want to download. i dont really know wot the other 3 do so installed and didnt cause any harm.
