Hi all.
I have a qtek 1010 and i downloaded the rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16916
when i go to install it, the computer shows the infos of the device than when i click update the phone suddenly resets by itself so the connection with the computer becomes lost. and the instructions say that i must not disconect the device from the pc at all. when i go to reconnect it, the computer shows after a while a message: " the current software is gonna be erased from your pocket pc now" or something like this, and there is a load bar that keep not loading (0%). finally a message comes up and says that there has been a problem in updating the rom version and bla bla due to following reasons such as disconnecting the device from your computer...
Now what can i do to solve this please help as soon as you can..

I have a dead xda II when trying to upgrade the rom.....I have tryed again and again but I get the same error " This application has failed to start becuase RAPI.dll was not found. RE-installing the allplication may fix this problem" any help tonight would be most appreciated I need this thing running again!!!!
I have the v0.23 that shows up and serial let me know what you can do

try to put your dead guy to boot loader mode by press & hold power button + navigation button + soft reset hole. What you see then on xda screen?
It says htc engineering serial at top.......v0.23 at the bottom any help let me know thanks

now connect your xda to pc using your cradle or usb cable. The serial text should change to usb. If so, try to run the upgrade again.

i am newbie to pocket pc...
can anybody can teach me how can i reinstall back to my original wm2003...
i downloaded the 'O2XdaII_WM2003SE_Asian_Edition' zip file...i just copy the 'HimaGetDeviceData' file into the main memory and open the file...the screen suddenlly turn black.. it only show 'serial ' and 'v1.06'...i not yet upgrade the devide yet..
what is it means?..is it was turn to bootloader mode?....i try to press all the button and reset button was no effect..HOW can i turn off the bootloader mode???
.. i din do any installation to wm2003se or wm5... my xdaII is in original condition..stock... 1.66rom, wm2003.
i am very panic...i can't do anything...i just newbie to pocket pc...

sounds and smells like bootloader mode;
get the latest firmware for your PDA from your provider, dock the PDA and let it install.
Don't panic, this happens when you execute this himagetdevice.exe on your XDA.
Put the XDA into the cradle, then execute ON YOUR PC the program himaupgrade.exe that you should find in the extracted zip directory of the ROM you downloaded.

after flashing hardspl the device isn't booting anymore.
Only a black screen and if the device is connectet to PC via USB it is detectet as Qualcomm Diagnostic Interface (comx).
I can connect via mtty and run "setboot" and "rdata 90000000 1".
after that i can run a memory dump with qpst tools or try to run the special niki version of frankenkaiser following the steps from forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=641670
wenn frankenkaiser say "Just be patient ...." , the "7e 02 6a d3 7e" shows on the screen and asks for "Replug USB cable now!" the device is found as "Unkown device" and no com or usb port is shown to connect with mtty and run the next steps.
has anyone an idea whats happen?

keeping mtty aside did u try a hard reset ?

after hart reset the screen is also black and the device is detecting as data diagnostic device

i cant try this because the device isn't booting up anymore.
hard reset, soft reset, soft reset with cam key noting brings the device up.
i bet you have the same problem like me!!!!
look in the threads for the post: htc niki broken
just 2 or 3 thread above yours!
read it und pls post if ur prob is the same!!
yes it sounds like we have the same problem.
I hope there is a way to fix this problem with the bootloader, but with mtty and frankenkaiser (niki port) way i has no result.

hy i could help you i gest have the same problem you need to do this: press camera buton, with stilus reset an power buton the same time, than your phone will boot from the microsd card your rom image, the image need to have the name NIKEIMG.nbh, you can take thr rom image from your rom archive

The Update Utility cannot get response from your PDA Phone. Please check that your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between the PC and your PDA Phone. And also check your PDA Phone.
What do i do about it?
