This worked for me, try this....
delete all the picture assignments you made on the photo contacts prog. I have only 5-10 pics, so i just unassigned them.

delete these files by doing active sync, explore your pda and go to windows\ and delete the files if some of them are giving you an error saying file in use or something then try renaming them, without giving any extension, example rename IACIDSync.dll to crap (i did that) and restart your ppc and then delete the renamed files and then install the CALLER_ID_WWE_RC10.CAB

Try this:
Works only for upgrade from Dangaard (or Qtek) 1.60 WWE to I-mate 1.53.82.
1. Download the i-mate ROM image from Club i-mate or from http://www.c1au.com/iMatePDAROMS/ruu15283.zip
2. Unzip the file with Winzip
3. You now get a file called ruu15283wwwe_cdl.exe
3. Extract this file with Winzip to a new folder
4. Extract the attached file to the same folder
5. Start the conversion and upgrade by double-clicking convert.bat

I think i found this topic a little too late. The link to the rom update is no longer current and the i-mate website have updated their download to ruu113sku1.exe so the script doesnt work anymore.
Would you be kind enough to write a script for this new rom update as i am unable to install certain software from the club i-mate site with the Dangaard rom.
I have an o2 XDAII with Dangaard 1.60
I get an error message saying that the password may not be correct.

Where can I find the new i-mate ROM? I don't have an i-mate, so I don't have access to the site.

dont be put off by the fact the file size is now only 25Mb
Well sorted the problem. i used the convert program above with the rom from the club imate site http://www.clubimate.com/support/ruu15283wwe_cdl.zip
the download for this kept failing at 37.8Mb when the file sizes should have been 38.7Mb. but using a download manager sorted this. I personally use HiDownload
once i had upgraded to this rom i upgraded to the latest rom from the imate site given above.
now i should be cooking with gas, and hope all my apps install properly, plus i hope i get some benefit from the bug fixes.

Hi, I also need to cab file to make my camera work on my 02 XDAII. I copied the cab file that was posted to my storage card and executed it. It said it copied the information correctly but I don't see an icon for the program. Do I need to do anything else after running the cab file?

If cab file was installed corectly, it doesn't need to do anymore.
If you doesn't found CAMERA icon in Program, you may try install again.
By the way, Camera program is always put in Ext ROM.
if you flash your ROM with official ROM, no need to do anymore.
But if you flash with your custom ROM, you need to make sure that in your Ext ROM include camera-cab file.
you can use extended ROM viewer or extended ROM unlocker to view your Ext ROM.
Thank you very much! I installed the Ext. ROM viewer and saw the camera cab file in there. When I executed the camera cab file, the camera icon reappeared in the programs directory. Thanks again!

ExtROM version: 2.06.100a
But the camera does not turn on from the icon nor from the button. This message appear:" Camera is not a valid Pocket PC application".

I've attached version 2.5 - which works fine on my device.

I just tried re-installing my camera to see if that file was in use on mine and it wasn't.
What I usually do if I get an installer giving me problems like this, is open the file browser and find the file in question and rename it to something else.
That way the installer can put its own version of that file into windows without a conflict.
So try renaming the file to mp4spvd.dll.bak for instance, then see if the cab will install.
You'll have to use a program other than 'file explorer' as dll fikes are usually hidden in there. Explore from ActiveSync can accomplish this!

First unhide and unlock
then reboot.
then use file explorer. of the internal file explorer did not work. try resco file explorer.
Ignore_my_docs = the system dont need to search for my doc files in that storage (card)

Make sure that you are using the extended rom unlocker tool.
here some screenshots. the program is located in ur start menu.
and if there still nothing in the extende rom folder that means that the folder is empty. and you dont have any extended rom.
i know how to use the extended rom program, but maybe you are right and it 's empty. but nevertheless it was not empty after the installation of the WM2003SE because i remember i saw the config.txt file.
Maybe i remove soething wrong in the folder.
how i can repair ? can i put some initial extended rom .cab in it ?

I think you need to reflash you're device. (everything will be deleted!!).
Or you can just extract the extende rom and copy the extended rom content to youre devie.
read on the from about the the ER2003Edit tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=101792
that will help to extract the extende rom.

Just a little info -I discovered at the weekend. I have been playing with the wm5 1.60a for a while and in orfder to save space in the storage i have installed a lot of programs on the extended_rom partition. I renamed this via the registry. Don't do this !as it really screws things up. You end up with two extended rom plabels in explorer and you can not rename them back. I have had to reinstall wm5 1.60a
I dont see any problem installing program in Extended ROM. All you have to make sure is you have to rename the Extended ROM BEFORE you install anything.
If you rename it AFTER then surely you are going to be screwed. Because the program installed in the extended ROM is registered in the registry as whatever name the extended ROM when the program are installed.
Can you please be more specific with your problem. If not I think your post is "misleading".

In summary you are correct. I should have renamed Extended_rom before installing programs to it.
However when you reset the machine the operating system creates a new folder called extended rom and puts the renamed extended rom data and programs in it.
The original renamed folder with the memory chip icon is also present in the directory view so the data appears twice.

I dont have the problem that you described.
When I install WM5 v 1.60a. I immediately rename it to "STORAGE" then install program in it. I have been using version 1.60 for more than a week now and I have countless Soft Reset even Hard Reset(Persistent memory right?) and no double folder and anything.
Just follow my advice and rename it at the beginning. I am sure you wont have the problem.
