Windows Mobile 2003 "Time and Next Appointment" cl - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

I'm not sure what I have done but my numeric 'digital' clock has been replaced by an anolgue representation which I hate.
To my mind the logical place to change this would be Settings-Clock but it doesn't appear Microsoft see it that way ...now there's a thing!
Can anybody please tell me how I can get the numeric display back (next to signal strength on 'Start' bar?)
Appreciate your time answering this rather simple query!
XDA II, ROM 1.72: Main Apps; PocketZenPhone, Resco Utility (Stickies hang the XDA!), Omega One Journal Bar, TomTom Navigator, Age of Empires

I fell foul of this myself
Press and hold on the time, and a menu will appear allowing you to select digital or analog. press on the one you want...

Dooooh ...Thanks.
Simple when you know how :!:

XDA II WM2005 Navigational Button

On WM2003SE or WM2003, I can use the navigational button to navigate the call history and speed dial function. But after I upgrade to WM2005, those function seems disappear. Does anybody experience that problem and how to get it back those functions. Thank you
XDA II
ROM Version: 1.50f.blWWE
ROM Date: 05/13/2005
Radion Version: 1.18.00

Yap... I have the same problem! Don´t know why that hapens.
But it´s real bad...
i have the same problem
and it seems that the camera and the record button on the left side of my XDAII does not functioning as well.
but before i upgrade my XDA im sure that i was functioning.
pls help.
Not sure what you are talking about, but on mine, I can still use the Navigational DPAD to browse my Call History and Speed Dial...
mine is working
thats the some with hardware butons camera and record
people who camera and record butons doesnt work navpad does work also?
al butons in my xda are working as expected .....
I've the camera and record butons working, but navigational DPAD doesn't.
Well, once the phone dialer is runnig, I can't use anymore the DPAD, left or rigth movements to call respectively the "Speed Dial" and "Call History" (very incovinient).
Instad the only way now, is to use the soft buton "menu" or the butons at the dialer.
Off course, once the "Speed Dial" or "Call History" functions are activated, the DPAD can be used again to navigate up/down inside

I still don't get it!
What's so hard about using your thumb to press the respective on-screen buttons instead than the DPad? They're just a couple of centimeters appart?
.. you would avoid the finger prints on the touchscreen...
and less finger movements required, cause all actions, left, rigth, up, down, would be in the same pad.
Fernando
Good point, but then how do you manage not to get any facial grease on the display while talking? (don't tell me you ALWAYS use a Bluetooth headset!)
Besides, this devices are meant to be used with the stylus or fingers (I know it's a personal choice, but...), just use a decent screen protector and lens cloth to clean it from time to time and you are done.
And if you are so paranoial about finger prints, grease and finger movement, why don't you get a smartphone instead? (that reminds me, don't you ever type SMS or text? 'cause that's one hell of finger movements)
Cheers!
Rayan
Got your point. You're rigth.
But why not to have a simple functionality
- when it is simple to implement
- it was previously available
- and you're already used to it
I can tell you, I used it always this way with WM2003.
That's my point.
Fernando
Okay, I will not argue with that, you are right! ... :?
I mean, I understand that WM5.0 by nature, it's supposed to be more one-hand-friendly so the DPAD is supposed to be used for one hand opperations and that's true in the rest of the interface, so you ask WHY NOT ON THE DIALER?!?
But I would go even further... WHY THE HELL MICROSOFT DIDN'T FIX THE RECURRENT ALARMS ON WM5.0?????
But that's another story!!!
Cheers!

Nope, tytn has a samsung cpu. XCPUScalar is only valid for xscale processors.
There is not yet a working overclocking solution for the TyTN.

Yes, but it doesn't work on the Hermes, you can overclock and underclock it, but it will hardreset and become unstable after a while. I tried with both production and preproduction (300Mhz samsung) versions of the Hermes with the same results.
wtf...."my tytn is slowing down" solution "overclock it", who brought the crack today?
First thing would be to see how much crap you have in start up, and how much junk you have on your today screen constantly refreshing, I have 30 applications installed on my tytn, and NO slowdown.
I should have ignored this thread, but working in the pc tech help for many years...I never would have imagined to tell someone to OC their pc if it was slow, same applies to this device, this isn't the Omap processor, as you all know...the tytn is actually fairly quick, if you don't muck it all up with memory resident poop.
Also, why anyone would bother with an app to change the softbuttons is beyond me, it just takes a couple minutes with a registry editor, which equals less junk installed on your tytn.
edit: sorry I was a bit surly this morning, and I couldn't stfu...it just looks to me that vid200 is a bit of a novice from his initial question (sorry if I am wrong, no offence meant vid200) by the nature of it and that the answer is easily found on google and the wiki.
I can understand pointing someone out the app to easily change the softkeys..it saves trying to teach someone about registry editing, but to tell that same person to OC their ppc when they haven't even really dug into manually tweaking it is just nutty, you have to crawl before you can walk.
vid200, if you don't have it, I suggest you give memmaid a try, and see what is slowin you down, also I don't know if the softbutton app you have permits it, but if you manually change the softkeys with a registry editor, you can link them to .cpl files, for example the taskman.cpl file found on this forum, and easily bring up the oem taskmanager, or any other control panel apps...battery..memory..there is a .zip floating around with most all the .cpl files in it, and when you stick with the oem monitors it helps with speed and battery life just less polling and memory usage, also just throwin the tip out there, some people might not know they can link to cpl's.
the only things that have slowed down my tytn are the wisbar advance (all of em) and Pocket PC PhoneAlarm,
I don't recommend both of them as they are resource hogs and have memory leaks,
aside from those two I have 30 so apllications and tons of today plugins and my device is fast and very responsive.
Hello all,
Need your help for the following:
I am trying to use left sofkey to lock pda, like we use on a nokia phone (left key + * to lock phone).
I have used SoftkeyAppletEx (Thanks Dotfred!), but i still could not find the correct block keys file to link to softkey.
For sure this is not impossible, as we can put that option on today screen.
Anyone could help to identify that file???

No offence taken, and yes I am a novice and I never messed up with registry before. Belive me I have searched and read forums and google, but softkey change just did not work on my device since all the other registry changes I made did work.. So I asked for help.
I will start the oem taskmanager and see if there is a problem.
10x for the advice
P.S.ne more question: where and how can I change the tone for messages, I can't find the folder to copy the ring tone in to.

You're not offensed, but I am. This so called 'ChaoticDruid' guy has no respect for the work made by others. I surely won't use 'Druid', because he has no wisdom being so pretentious, and I wouldn't use Chaotic but more 'Causing chaos'...
Surely, he's so clever that he advices a novice to play with the registry, this is very wise indeed. Furthermore, I didn't know that a Control Panel Applet could cause the slow down of a machine, but yes he has so many years of experience that he doesn't even know that. And I would add that not everybody wants to take a couple of minutes (I wish it was true if you don't know what you're looking for) to dig in the registry, if it can be done in two seconds.
Cheers,
.Fred
Ok
I understand your point of view,
But this is a forum so I suggest we keep discussing things not arguing.
Well, so I read on other topics that SPB pocket plus is a slow down application and I have to admit I am using it so I am thinking of changing it maybe with some other programs.
Any suggestions, I would like to make my today screen like this:
Connection manager
GPRS counter,
Whether report
Messages (lsit all unread emails and tekst messages)
Tasks
Calendar
And Icons for the applications in tray bar.
I would also like to put new message (and have a choice: text, email or MMS) to the left soft key, but I do not know how.
BUT since I am a newbie I can only admire your today screens and hope I will find out somewhere how you did it.
I would like to ask how to change the ring for incoming message,
I would like to ask how to put icons in the bottom right corner in a tray bar where already the icon for emoze push mail is.
1) And for all of you out there thanks for the help you give me
2) I have the device for 4 days and my girlfriend says it is all I have been doing for the past 4 days so don’t even thing I’m not spending hours and reading forums and searching.

The control panel applet "Sounds & Notifications" selects only wav files that are stored in the /Windows directory.

PHM Tray Launcher allows you to add a tray icon in the taskbar.
I also use SPB Pocket Plus, so for another "today manager" ask to others, this one is enough for me.
Use Tweaks2k2.Net
There is a specific tweak to override the sofkeys' setings.
You can replace key caption or programs, for instance you can remove "Calendar" and set "Agenda" and so on for Contacts
Change your Left/Right Today softkeys
Here is the registry tweak you requested -
================================================
Change the application launched by Today screen Soft Keys
To change the application launched by the Today screen Left soft key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\Open = "\Windows\Calendar.exe" (REG_SZ string, including quotes)
To change the title of the Left soft key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\(Default) = Calendar (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
To change the application launched by the Today screen Right soft key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113\Open = "\Windows\Calendar.exe" (REG_SZ string, including quotes)
To change the title of the Right soft key:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113\(Default) = "Calendar" (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
Note that 113 normally doesn't exist by default, and probably needs to be created Also note that there is at least 1 application that allows you to set these through a GUI, developed by FdcSoft called SoftKeyAppletEx
=================================================
Actually, you can select any name or app on the Left /Right softkey. Test the length of the word (make sure it fits all on the bar). You may get the application ".exe" from /windows folder of your device.
I would advise though not to fiddle on the right key as that is a bit complicated.
For example, mine I used on the Left softkey the name "Phone Pad" and used "VTKey.exe" (without the quotes) instead of Calendar and Calendar.exe. It worked perfectly well on my Imate Jasjar with no problem at all on portrait/landscape orientation. Hoped it does, too, on your device.
Cheers !!!
Look for SoftKeyAppletEx to remap your softkeys ..

Qmenu

Where might I find Qmenu? I have searched the forum and googled the world with no luck other than references to it being included in some PDA's

Great app! I still use Wktask for the task bar like a windows pc though. The new version of Wktask has an option that takes the place of the vista hide battery gauge or whatever it is called.
yeah but wktask takes up too much screen real estate for some of us. And now it does that vista hide bar thing too... ugh, stuff that takes over the screen makes me angry. I HATE CLUTTER!
Personally can't stand wktask.
What's nice about Qmenu, besides the minimal memory footprint, is that you can bring up the "task manager" when needed, instead of it being up on top all the time like wktask, or only on the home screen like X-button. Just press the start button (or windows key on an equipped device).
Its really easy to end tasks too (scroll to the task, press the dpad to the right). So when closing multiple apps at once, this is awesome (scroll, right, scroll, right, skip one you want open, scroll, right...). And the best part is that ITS NOT THERE WHEN U DON'T WANT/NEED IT!
The only thing is that sometimes I like my old start menu programs because I use ftouchflo to scroll through all the icons.
so, I use qmenu mostly as a task manager mapped to the windows key, and have it set now that when I press the start menu on screen, the old start menu appears. This seems like the best combo for me.
Also, it has a battery meter that sits on the home screen in the top right corner. When you click it, it will also tell you how much memory is free. You can configure this to show battery in graphic (verbose), percent, with the free memory amount, or just show free memory. Makes managing the device a cinch, and, as I said before, all without hostilely taking over your interface!
This is a great app. I was thinking of installing SPB Pocket Plus only to use the close "ok" button feature but with Qmenu extremely less memory consumption, I saved so much space that spb pocket plus would have taken. Excellent app
I don't find it as clutter...but I guess everyone has their opinions. I feel lost without WkTask as I like to see in a glance what I have open and the same goes for the battery. I can't see how the battery meter gets in the way.

I miss the speed dial shortcuts

Flashed to WM6.5 in an apparently futile quest to resolve my wifi connectivity issues. Now I'm trying to get used to the new UI. It's fine, but I'm missing one feature on the phone: It used to be that within the Phone application, hitting up on the D-pad would bring up Speed Dial, then you could hit the D-pad up or down to get to the number you want, and then hit the middle of the D-pad to dial. Made for nice eyes-free dialing. How do I replicate that feature?
iconsoft phonex has an even quicker option of favorites
it also has a fairly simple speed dial using the pad
comes with a today plugin w/ row of quick opening buttons:
favorites, messaging, phone pad, comm manager, ring/vibe selector
favs, comm & selector all slide open right on the today screen
making calls to my favorites has never been quicker or easier
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506221
this is the favorite people app for win 6.5 and you can use the dpad for dialing
Thanks for your replies. What I'm looking for is fast, eyes-free dialing. Under WM5 and WM6, I used a program called Smartskey. It remapped the function of the d-pad within the default Phone application, so that hitting Up brought up your speed dials and Down brought up the call history. I found my old copy of smartskey 0.6 archived on my PC and installed it on my new WM6.5, but it appears that those d-pad remappings aren't working.
I downloaded and installed the demo for phonex. It's quite nice, thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, the today shortcuts aren't as useful under Titanium, which is what I'm trying to run.
I may resort to that Favorite People app, but if possible I'd rather find a way to replicate the old smartskey functionality -- habits are hard to break.

How to create a Bot for Android games like Arcane Legends (MMO)?

Greetings fellows
I'd like to create a Bot for android game called Arcane Legends. This is a MMO game. Pretty awesome, must say. I've gotten quite addicted to that game. Making gold is hard, that's a matter of fact. A lot of grinding is required to do it. With gold, you can get better items. There is one map where one chest price ranges over 10-15k gold. My plan is to create a Bot that runs this map and exits the map after the boss has been killed and loot has been picked up. Boss drops the chest.
What I will do before running my Bot:
1) Open Android Emulator (Nox Player) and open the game. Log in and wait for it to load the screen. Now it's ready to go.
Here are the steps that I'd like the Bot to do:
1) Click on the icon to see the world map
2) Choose the "hard" choice
3) Choose the map name
4) Choose the place that you want to teleport
5) Wait for it to load the screen.
6) Go to {X;Y} position
7) Start tapping the basic attack skill that requires no mana. Tap until the boss arrives.
8) If an object like cannon ball or boss moves you, go back to that {X;Y} position and start repeating (task 7)
9) If boss is alive, repeat (task 7) and use another skill to kill boss faster.
10) If boss is dead, check for any loot that has been dropped and pick them up.
11) Go to new {X;Y} position.
12) Screen pops up which gives you the choice to exit the map or stay. Press Exit.
13) Repeat (task 1-12) [LOOP]
In what programming language I want to make it? I prefer to do it in Python. I do have some experience in Python.
Why Python? Because it's great for automating stuff. Makes your life easier to do tasks by the hands of computer.
Why I am here asking this? Because I don't know which direction should I head for and where to start at.
Few logic sentences I need to use:
1) If boss HP is not 0% then tap basic attack skills and one other skill to kill boss faster. Else, wait for 5 seconds and pick up any loot (objects) that has been dropped before and after the boss.
2) If boss or cannon ball moved you from the original {X;Y} (task 6) position, then move back to that position and repeat tapping skills.
3) If boss is not seen (killed or ran away) then exit the map by going to new {X;Y} position and press "yes" to exit the map.
Now the question is...
How to do these few logic sentences that I just gave? I can't just put
"boss HP = 100%"
"if boss HP != 0%: then tap skills until he's dead. Else: Check for (drops/loots/objects and pick them up). Then run to the new {X;Y} position and exit the map"
Help please! :[
PS: I don't want anybody to do this for me. Just tell me, what direction should I head for. What do I need to do? Is my idea possible to do? Can Python do this? Do I need to do it on some other language?
Bonus: I don't like the idea of Macro. It's bad as heck to farm maps where mobs or objects move you from original position. Once that happens, macro doesn't work. RIP
did u made it?
