My old T-Mobile version of the XDA I will no longer hold a charge. I replaced the battery, but the charging light turns from amber to green almost instantly. Am I hosed? Am I doing something wrong? This happened with the old battery, and the new battery is doing the same thing.

I let my battery die off this morning til I got home. I plugged it into the wall and tried to boot up. I got the green light to flash but then nothing. I pulled the battery out and even left it charging for a few hours. Still, the phone does not power up. The green light turns on for a bit and then off. I haven't done any mods to the phone...
Any idea what is going on? Or perhaps how I can fix this? Any help would be great.
Weird. I had it plugged in my Energizer Ps3 controller stand (it has two usb outputs) which was giving me the issue before. I finally plugged it in to the wall and it boot up fine. I guess the PS3 stand may be faulty...

Use the charger that came with your phone.
If you do a google search, you will see that the droid x and droid 2 also have this same issue.
next time it happens, pull the batter and SD card. wait a minute or two, put in the sdcard and battery, then plug in the WALL charger. It will power on the phone and boot it up.
has happend to me twice - so now i just never turn off my phone rebooting it is also touch n go to be honest... the phone is sooo sensitive!
The phone's not sensitive...it requires an 800mA charger (0.8A). If you connect it to something less it doesn't have enough power to charge the device. If you let it sit long enough it *WILL* charge it...but it'll probably take a day to have enough juice to start up. If you let the battery drain completely it usually won't turn on until there's like 15% or more battery charged. Charging 15% battery on a 400mA charger (which could very well be the level your PS3 charging stand outputs) would probably take like 7 hours.
Thanks for the info, everyone!
I'm sorry for the bump, but this has happened to my mother's Atrix that I gave her just 2 days ago.
She found it turned off, wouldn't power. I figured it wasn't charged so I'm trying to charge it on the wall adapter that it came with but no green light. I've put it on my laptop and the green light appears.
It's not turning on though...can someone reassure me that if the light turns on, it WILL power eventually?
Same problem here

hello man, i have the same problem you have, did you find out something useful???
Hey everyone,
I have a rogers branded razr and it suddenly died while I had it plugged in to charge. It had about 20% battery before it died, and it was plugged in. Nothing seems to bring my phone back to life. I've tried the power and volume down button together to no avail. The phone's LED light also flashes white every 15 minutes or so. Anyone have any suggestions before I take the phone back to get exchanged?

Doesn't seem to be looking good. I've had the device charging for over half an hour now and the razr is literally cold.
Same thing happened to me when my phone battery finished , its wouldnt charge with the USB charge from pc just a flashing white light would appear at front of phone , then i tried charging with the mains charger and it woke the phone back up from that whatever it was
led flashes white means charge problem? you may try something different.

Just tried a different charger on the razr and nothing happened. Also tried my razr charger with my samsung galaxy s and it charges that just fine. Guess I'm taking this phone back Such a pity as it was such a great phone.
very died
My phone just died completely a week ago while plugged on my macbook usb port. The phone is new, o bought it last month and it's already dead? come on, i thought motorola had solved it's battery quality problem from more than 5 years ago. It can only be a battery problem right?
I'm really curious what should have caused this problem, because i'm afraid motorola can't guarantee this problem won't happen again! even if it takes a year! i'm worried to loose warranty and the battery fails again! and i bet it will!
Just can't believe how many people had this same problem!
I hope to receive a new phone from warranty or at least a new battery - and hoppefully better battery!

I had received the white light of death as i call it on my razr. Basically the phone abruptly turned off and then would refuse to turn on. Plugging it into any computer/wall charger gave a solid white notification light which means the battery is too low to boot the phone. So i left it to charge for a few hours but no luck. Just took the phone back to rogers and they had it sent back for repairs and the notes showed that a Level 3 part was replaced. I'm assuming its battery related but it could be other hardware failure as well.
So, I left my working Tbolt on my nightstand to charge last night. This morning I woke up and found the amber LED light blinking and the phone does not turn on. I placed a new battery into the phone last month and the phone was working just fine yesterday.
I replace the old battery into the phone, the phone boots up, but it does not want to boot up with the new battery. ALso, the old battery can charge (solid amber light) when plugged into PC or the wall.
Does anybody know what could have happened with the new battery? It was not hot when I went to bed.
Thank you.
Just put the battery back I to the phone and leave it on the charger for a while. It will stop blinking once it starts to take a charge again.

My phone's battery just died while charging. No idea how it happened, but apparently it wasn't charging at all, even though it displayed a charging icon.
Now it's turned off and it won't charge. When I plug it in, it turns on, displays the screen with the big battery, as usual, but only for a few short seconds. Then it turns itself on, even though it has no power, and shuts itself down immediately after it turns on, meaning it never charges. Then it goes t the big battery screen again, then turns itself on etc. and this goes in a circle for all eternity.
What do I do? I have no battery charger and I don't have any friends with a SGS3
(I'm running UltimaROM 17.1, in case that's related, which it might be, since I jut flashed it yesterday morning.)

You say you plug it and this happens? But what do you plug in when you wrote this: "I have no battery charger and.." ?
The battery could be dead or maybe it is also the dock connector! I don't know. FIrst buy a new battery. It's not a big deal
Or you try to search for someone who has an S3 and try it out
Good luck!
I meant I have a charger for my phone, like with a USB cable, but I don't own a charger that only charges batteries. Thanks for the quick reply, but I fixed it already. It wouldn't boot to recovery because the battery was completely empty, but with some fast finger-work I managed to plug it in and get it to boot to recovery before the battery screen. Since recovery doesn't use up battery as much, it started charging without shutting down and it's fine now

Hi guys,
I lost my Note4 so i foung my X10i that i havent used for 4 years.
I bought a new SE battery and put phone on charger overnight with a 2A charger. When trying to switch on the phone red light blinks only.
So i read some threads and saw that u must take out the battery and connect phone to charger then put battery back in, when i do that a green light shows and battery indicator shows battery is full then phone boots, but switches off again after 5 seconds when it has done booting and showing wallpaper. Last i remember i was on a custom ROM.
When i try to swithc on the phone normally the ed light flashes again
I suspect its a software issue, what must i do?
