I have upgraded my MDA1 from T-Mobile Germany with the actually
downloadable PW2003 Upgrade.
Unfortunately the MMS-Composer (Arcsoft) isn't integrated.
Who knows where to get it with all necessary components included
an has successfully installed yet.
My first test with a received version "MMS Composer v1.6.0.9" failed.
The installation went well, but the application doesn't start.
I get an error message like "some components or libraries missing"

I have read this topic carefully an this also th source, where I dowlnloaded the software. but
I didn't work. the programm does not start. there must be something missing (runtime library or so)
The only difference is that you have a german ROM ... mine is 4.01.00 ENG and this s/w works with no problems at all.
What do you mean by the s/w doesn't start ? ... err message ??
Also, can you see the plugin on Today screen ? ... make sure it's checked and do a soft reset.
I get an error-message by trying to launch the mms-composer
It shows am error-message, saying that there are some components or libraries missing an ist not possible to start the programm.
I can see the plugin in the start-screen.
I did also softresets, but no way.
I believe many applications use standard system DLLs which may have different names in each ROM ... unless you have deleted one of those DLLs by mistake, it seems the German ROM requires special version of the MMS composer.
If you really don't have much on your device and ready to the hassle of reinstalling everything, try a hard reset then install the MMS composer.
I had the same trouble, same error. I'm using Australian O2 XDA with a jsummer brewed ROM 4.00.11 (Non Tmobile) Radio 4.21
Is a 3 part install able version on the forum too. It runs but installs "connections". I wasn't able to set it up to send or recieve MMSes tho.
Yeah, it messed up all connections setting ... I had to do the setup from scratch ... you have to get your operators settings for both GPRS and MMS
I am also looking for a working tool, well at least i found a installable (not in rom) version of EzOS 2.5...

Finally I got the Arcsoft MMS-Composer working.
It was necessary to install also the camera dll, even if the qtek1010 doesn't have a camera.

Sending MMS runs now very fine, but i still can't receive them.

I only get 99 % ....everithing works after that ....except mms... that ive notice.

The upgrade stopped because same cabs need a Imate IMEI....
You need to put the extended memory in the card, soft reset when the fist installation stop, an install manually tha cabs yuo need from the card.
I solved also the MMS problem.
I suggest to use fit4cat tweaker to show the TyTn EXT_Rom content. Save the MMS cab on your computer, then Upgrade to I-Mate rom (look at Wiki, http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Upgrades )
During I-mate personalizzation the phone will "freeze"... don't worry just soft reset. just config date, time zone, international setting, then install the TyTn mms cab an configure the MMS
TyTN MMS Ext. Rom CAB File
As I was not aware that the iMate MMS CAB was only installed to specific IMEI devices I did not save the TyTN Ext. Rom to my PC before installing the imate JasJam ROM.
Does anyone have a copy of the TyTN MMS CAB file to save me having to re-install the HTC (QTEK) ROm and then save the file and then install the JASJAM Rom?

I have seen how to unhide the Extended ROM folder and have succesfully done this, however if I try to delete some of the unwanted CAB files I get a message saying the disk is write protected and if I try to copy the TyTN CAB files to the Extended ROM I get he same message - does anyone know how to 'unlock the Extended ROM?

I have installed the CAB in the Temp folder and run it from there - I know have MMS, I then re-ran the Orange CAB and it installed all the correct MMS Settings. I would still like to remove the unwanted CAB files from Extended Sotrage and install the TyTN ones I do want, so if anyone has any idea I would appreciate it. Thanks Mike

Solution to MMS Problem in TyTN->I-Mate Rom Upgrade
1) download from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtendedRoms TyTN Extended Rom
2) Unrar the file, copy the file named MT_Shortcut-MMS-Hermes.cab anywere in your TyTN
3) Run in your phone the file MT_Shortcut-MMS-Hermes.cab and MMS will be in your phone again.
4)if isn't the same used for internet, config the MMS access point (APN) in start menu>settings>connections tab, then connections icon, click the tab Advanced, select network, New, add and conf My MMS network (APN, Username, Password)
5) Go to Messaging, MMS and config MMS parameters (gateway....)
6) Try your Internet UMTS-GPRS connection, if your phone try to connect using the MMS connections, tap on settings and restore My ISP connection as default for internet. (Stupid software, it automatically try to use the last network configured...... )

So i was having some questions about this.
I took the mms 5 out of the 3.0.4 rom and put it into the new 3.1.2 rom. Rom works fine. But i can't get mms to work.
I made a new STRING value, named it X-VzW-MDN and put the value my 10 digit number.
when i try to send a picture, it still wont' send.
When it trys to send, it shows the status of it and it is stuck at 0%
then it shows the warning message saying "unable to send your message."
There has to be something i did.. anyone help me? thanks!

But i still can't get it to work.
EDIT!! I got it to work. I copyed some reg values here then it still didnt work. But i went ot the options, it had "1/2" in for the gateway.. hahaha took that out and it was fine.
I am trying to get someone to coment on if their Video MMS on verizon is working correctly. thanks.
These are the COMPLETE instructions on how to have working MMS with Verizon out of the box.
1. Cook your rom and flash (Arcsoft OEM no longer needed from 3.0.4 kitchen).
2. Install Verizon carrier package cab.
3. Install dcd VZW Arcsoft MMS 5.0.31.19 cab.
4. Soft reset.
That's it. Both MMS send and receive should work. Make sure you have an active data connection because you will not be able to send or receive anything without it.
this should work for vz users.
i have not tested it.
this would at least save you one cab install. install this and then create x-vzw-mdn key.
you still need my current vz carrier cab. with this cab, you dont also need the one gcincotta just posted.
edit: after thinking about it, im going to just revise this to include mortscript and throw a small script in startup to set the key... unless anyone disagrees?

sounds good to me........does this mean we are getting closer to MMS cabs for all carriers? If u need a tester for cricket, ill be a guinea(sp?) pig again

its not how i want to do it. i want 1 cab that supports everyone. this way is 1 cab that supports 1 carrier.
it at least separates the mms and rom topics, which i think is for the better.
this would at least save you one cab install.

Not really...they don't install both verizon carrier package cabs, just the one i posted.
This is better for now though if the mortscript is included to fetch the MDN key though.
Still gotta code that setup.dll though to get rid of the mortscript.

ok well, mms/mort cab is done and works.
i didnt realize a mortscript is capable of deleting itself so it will only run in startup once and then dispose of itself.

With that said, I'm going to change the instructions then in my post.
dcd, i made two cabs for cricket based off of ur vzw cab with mortscript. Both are working fine as I have quickly tested them. One cab uses only the MMS setup options and same mortscript but i had to change it to X-Cricket-MDN or whatever key it is. The other also incorporates a mortscript mms fix which was made by mooringhorse over at hofo and changes the left softkey and envelope key into scripts to delete the defaultconnectionsettings string if it exists then open the messaging. I can post them and let u see em if ud like? or if any does?

I was never able to send mms on 3.0.4. I installed this cab, soft reset and it now works perfectly. The slowness of the acrsoft that came with the 3.0.4 kitchen actually seams inproved also.

You probably didn't set it up right then, because MMS worked fine on 3.0.4 as long as it was set up correctly.

Everything is working good.
I installed the cab attached to this thread immediately after the carrier cab, and I cannot seem to send / receive picture messages. I get the following error:

Unable to receive your message(s). Your message notification(s) will remain in the inbox.
I have checked my registry and the all the settings match those posted earlier in this thread.
Can anyone offer some suggestions where i might start looking?
Hey guys i just bought a mogul on ebay and had it flashed to metro pcs, the internet, and gps work fine, i just cant get it send out mms like many of ur phones can, i dont have sprint picture mail, because i have metro service.
ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPERICATED!!!!!
Did you install Arcsoft? If you did not, you might want to find a copy of it to intall on your phone.
Once you do, follow the directions below as a guideline.
Remove/Uninstall any existing MMS composer you have attempted to setup. Also a good idea to remove any registry keys it may have created that are left behind after the uninstall.
1: Install Arcsoft MMS version 5.0.70.24
2: Open your Messaging and click on the SMS/MMS option.
3: Click on "Menu" and select "MMS Options" then select the "Servers" tab.
4: Add a new server with the following settings:
Server Name: metropcs
Gateway: wap.metropcs.net
Port number: 3128
Server address: http://mms.metropcs.net:3128/mmsc
Connect via: SELECT EITHER THE CONNECTION YOU SETUP ABOVE OR "The internet"
Send limit: 399K
5: Click "Done" and then set the new server as default.
6: Using a Registry Editor edit the following values:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]
DELETE KEY -> "X-VzW-MDN"
ADD STRING -> "X-metropcs-MDN"="XXXXXXXXXX" ( Insert your 10 digit phone Number )
ADD STRING -> "X-DEVICE-MIN"="1XXXXXXXXXX" ( Insert your 10 digit phone Number WITH the 1 in front of it )

*P.S.-- You might also want to find the Titan MMS fix CAB by CRwinger to help keep your MMS working properly. The reason is that when you open PIE it creates a registry key that will stop you from send/recieving MMS. The CAB file will automatically delete that file by pressing the messaging hard button on the top left of your Mogul.
Other alternative is not to use PIE and just use Opera.

I'm pretty sure that PIE is something internet explorer. Opera is a mobile web browser. Probably one of the best since you can get youtube

ok i've located arcsoft mms 5.0.70.24, which on this forum, one do i download because i see beta and several other versions.
I use 5.0.31.19 myself. Any version after that or a beta is fine really. Its a trial and error of how well the software version you have works like you want it to.
Just DL anyone of them.
*Important--If anything back-up your phone just incase you need to do a hard reset. Use a program called PimBackup...its free.

thanks, i had downloaded a older version, how do i delete the older program completely? i removed it from my phone but, what's a registry edit? and how do i do that before installing the new arcsoft?
You need to find phmReg Edit and use that program to do your registry edits...its free just google it.
Also if you already have a version of arcsoft installed use the guide to get MMS working for you on Metro PCS. If that version doesn't work for you do the advised below.
*If you want to change the version of arcsoft it is best to start from scratch and hard reset the device. Thats why i suggested you to do a back-up your phone. Also if a hard reset is needed please be careful because it will erase everything on the phone except the SD card.
So it goes like this:
install phmReg Edit-->install Arcsoft-->follow steps in guide

There are many builds out there but Opera build 2392 is good...seems to make it the default browser instead of PIE.
For example: When clicking on a link in a text message, Opera will open instead of PIE.
The Titan MMS fix by CRwinger I believe you might be able to find on PPCgeeks.

Is it the mms cab fix for cricket? because i found that one, it was a choice between that one that the vougue fix. and if i choose the cricket fix will i have to redo all the setting back to metropcs? any link to the titian mms fix cab would be appreciated greatly!!! THANKS
