SCREEN ROTATE ISSUE IN MAGNETO CAME BACK,,UNFORTUNATELY!!! - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

And everything was so nice and smooth, on a new FULL RAM version by BUZZ, AND suddenly screen got all messed up. I have had the same issue and heared that some of you had it before as well. UNFORTUNATELY it hasn't been fixed.
I was reading my Lessons in .PDF using Adobe PDF Reader For PPC in LANDSCAPE MODE, and suddenly it told me NOT ENOUGH MEMMORY, got back to RESCO EXPLORER, and freezed. I have done a soft reset, everything went back to normal, it's just ALL THE ONSCREEN BUTTONS STAYED IN THE LANDSCAPE MODE, AND THE ACTUAL SCREEN IN A PORTRAIT MODE.
Now that is very annoying, but i learned to PRESS START, SCROL DOWN using a navigation keys, GET TO SETTINGS, AND CHANGE SCREEN TO "LANDSCAPE MODE AGAIN" , RESTART, AND YOU ARE BACK ON TRACK.
thisis a very annoying issue, but we are going to have to live with it coz WE LOVE OUR MAGNETO....

Avoiding the problem
Dear,
Mine too. My quick solution to this is to aviod soft-resets in landscape mode
Cheers,

This is my solution

Disable auto rotate

So, i am trying to disable the auto rotate feature of my titan. i have searched all over and nothing has worked yet for me.
the reason for this is becasue i use the onscreen Touch keyboard alot and my fingers are huge, so having it sideways to display a larger keybaord would help me alot.
i think someone said this somewhere before that it was built into the hardware. the only way to fix this is to have a script or something run after the screen rotates, to re-rotate it back
yup.. no go on this one.. forget u ever even thought about it.
kinda like "ohh it would be nice to have Pocket Outlook auto show internet images."
SPB pocket plus has a rotate screen shortcut, i have it mapped to a hardware button, im sure theres a free app to do this out there somewhere (i use pocket plus anyway so it works for me)
the only downside is if you slide it open and close it the screen goes back to portrait, but then you just hit the button again, lol

[Q] Stuck on rotate vibrant

Hello all.
Not much of a poster but i would like to see if i can get some help with my phone.
I've had it rooted and running Trigger for a couple months now......but recently i came into a problem. The phone will go into landscape mode on its own and sticks there.
It wont rotate back no matter what i do.
Yes i've tried toggling the auto-rotate settings but it still wont rotate back.
The only way i can get it to go back to vertical is by reflashing the rom, but it doesn't take long before it goes back. I've also tried flashing other roms but same problem.
It's really starting to get frustrating and i don't know what to do. Any thoughts?
Have you tried re-calibrating? Go to Settings>Display>Horizontal Calibration and let it do its thing. I ran into this with trigger and later, project v.
You mean anytime in landscape mode it locks that way? Like when using the camera or watching a movie? Or it only locks when using landscape on the home screens?
that sounds like a hardware problem to me but maybe if i knew more about what your doing i could say otherwise. there are sensors inside your phone that tell it when it is sideways, upside down, rightside up. not that i encourage this but...... have you tried bumping it off of a table to see if it flips back? maybe the sensors are acting up???

Band new SGS2, Should Home Screen auto rotate Horisontaly/Verticaly?

Hello guys, I got this new unit and I already tried to calibrate/ check auto rotate option in settings.
Should my home screen rotate while i move my phone horizontally and/or vertically.
My icons are always in vertical mode.
If i go to gallery and choose picture i taken with the cell it rotates fine.
But if I go into internet browser ( the default one ) it takes like 4-5 tries shakes and moves my phone so it finally works <== this also seems odd shouldn't this works like faster or on first try ????
//Edit: needless to say , factory stock on everything nothing installed apart from opera mini and skype.
Everything else is default out of the box.
But my main question is shouldn't home screen follow my phone movement?
no, custom roms do though, like cm7
So no home screen/icons on it will follow if I place my phone in landscape mode hmm. Also what about the locked screen ( default one ) with the clock on it. Should that move? or same like home screen its only vertical.
Also I find my sensor in apps ( any app for that matter) to be really slow or unresponsive :S You need to move your phone in all directions like good 40-50secs or even more for it to switch into landscape mode :S
If anyone cares I re-calibrated the sensor but this time NOT on flat surface but in my hand the best I can and matched my movements so I works the best like im holding it in every day use.
Fixed my slow-ness or non-responsiveness about landscape / vertical switching.
=)

[Q] Home and back buttons randomly don't work when rotated

Upgraded to CM11, but had this on 10.2 as well. Back and home buttons are rendered inoperable depending on how NT is positioned (rotated). Really annoying and I know they aren't shorted because BACK works in one position but not the other, same issue with HOME. Anyone know of a fix?
Anybody?
you're talking about the onscreen buttons in android, right? i've never had any issues
that happen to me
I had that same problem when I change the dpi from 160 to 265 and that when it happen to me. It took me a day or two before I realized what causes It but when I change the dpi back to 160 my buttons started to work just as they did before.I hope this helps you with your fix.good luck
Well I don't know if it's your case, but this happened to me as well, and I found that I had dead zones in touchscreen exactly where on screen home and back buttons are, the only way I could use home and back buttons again was rotating the screen to upside down portrait (I could not pull down controls menu in this position since that part of screen was dead) or in landscape.
How I found out: download this app. from Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rn.yamtt, turn your tablet to landscape so on screen buttons will change positions. Open the app. and select paint tester and move your finger on the part of the screen where the on screen buttons wasn't working in portrait mode.
If you have dead zones like me, the app. won't paint the area where you are moving your finger because the touchscreen is dead in that area.
Also, my nook developed another problem after this, it won't charge, and when I plug the power cord, tablet crashes and reboots and stay in a bootloop unless I remove the cable. I'm 100% sure the cable and charger are ok, my nook suddenly started to show a lot of problems, I'll miss my nook =/
so what did you do to fix it?

Nothing since this has no fixes, part of the touchscreen is simply dead, unless a miracle happens, I even tried to restore stock nook rom, opened my tablet to check if there is a loose cable or something.
Is this happened to you in the same day you opened this thread? If your answer is yes, this sounds funny, because it's exactly the day when this small part on left bottom of the touchscreen died in my nook.
Also, somewhat my tablet started to charge again, but very slow, like USB charging, but I'm happy my nook returned to life.
No this happened many weeks before the thread. All of a sudden both home and back touches no longer worked in portrait position, but DO work in Landscape. Annoying.

Did you made the check I mentioned before? Does the back and home buttons works if put your tablet in upside down position so portrait mode will move soft buttons to the top edge?
Yes - all three DO work when I flip it upside down in portrait. Is this my workaround?

Unfortunately, you have the same problem as me - dead zone in touchscreen. Flip the tablet upside down in portrait or use in landscape are the only workaround afaik. I thought in moving the on screen buttons more to the right in a zone where the touchscreen is working, but I didn't find a way to do this, I managed to move them a little bit by adding more buttons in the bar in system settings, but the back button would still stay in the dead zone, them I switched home and back buttons positions (so home stays in the dead zone) since you can still use the tablet N button to use home function.

[Q] anyone else lost landscape on home screen while docked?

the subject covers the problem, this happend after mm installed.. was a direct push from sony...
found a couple of threads about turning phone off, then docking then turning phone on. then undock. well now my lock screen goes into landscape kinda nice, but when i swipe up to unlock home screen is in portrait mode. would prefer home screen in landscape while charging. managed to find a app that forces it to work, but does not compress the home screen like the stock lolipop 5.2.1 i think it was, did.
beers
Yeah. This update (570) is as bad as the 5.0.2 build that came without X-Reality. No auto rotation, some sound enhacement features are missing and much more things that keep me from using Marshmallow for more than a full day.
Gee, I thought I was the only one having this issue. Yeah, it's so bad. Even on Facebook when I try to livestream while charging on dock, it's still in Portrait mode.
