press on/off button, hole at the bottom xdaII with sylus, and center of dialpad xdaII...got it?..sorry my english isn't very good...

what Neman meant was BOOTLOADER mode.
Please read the wiki pages. For wm2003, bootloader mode is PWR BTN+DIRECTION BTN+RESET BTN in that order.

I know but...
I did that and it tells me the Language ID error. I am trying to update the rom to an english version. I think the one I got is in chinese but translated to english. Some of the folders in the windows folder cant be read. some strange characters are used to named the folders.
Where can I get that file? I 've looked every where?

XDA GSM error after upgrading to WM2003

Hi all,
i've got a slight problem with my XDA. After updating to WM 2003 (4.00.16) my GSM (3.23) seens to be broken...
It woked for a while and then out of nowhere. My XDA now wont boot. Th good news is that i can go into the bootloader.
What can i do now? Where can i get a good WM2002 image to put onto my SD Card? I'd appreciate any help!!!
Dear Fabi,
I know it might not be the suitable question, but could you plz tell the exact steps you did that led you to this situation. This is to allow you to get precise help, and to be a learned lesson for the rest of us, coz I was about to upgrade from 3.25 to 4.00.16 but prefered to ask first.
Don't worry, the guys here are way clever and I 'm sure you will get the help very soon ... TKR
Nooo problem. I was about to Sync my XDA via USB Cradle and noticed that my backlight was turned off. Also my Phone was searching for a Network (now I know why... ). So I thought it might be good to reset that thing..... *aghhhrrrr* That was a big mistake. After the reset I saw the boot screen and the backlight blinking twice. That was all. My Bootloader (5.15) says "GSM Error"... now I'm without Mobile Phone for a while :?
so in other words, 4.00.16 was OK but you screwed up the XDA by just doing a reset while the backlight was off ?? ... I 'm afraid I don't get it :?

Confirming you used the SD card method to upgrade, right!
Also what radio band is or was your XDA set to before the upgrade?
HTH
No I didn't use SD Card to update my XDA. I used The ROM-Kitchen to generate a exe and updated over USB cradle.
Im running my MDA (i don't have a XDA ) on a german GSM 1800. Eplus. It was always set to this option and I never even tried to change it.
@biso007:
I screwed my MDA because I did a reset. Thats right. But I had some backlight issues in the past few days after upgrading. The backlight sometimes turned off and there was no chance to get it back on... only a reset. I first thought the proplem occured again yesterday but then i saw that my MDA was looking for network. After resetting the GSM part was dead....!
So back to my problem. I now ordered a SD Card Reader/writer. Is it possible to resore my system via XDArit and a backup? Can someone provide me a working 2002 backup from boot, OS and GSM part? Or can I do this by myself. I really appreciate your help!! Thanks a lot.
Ok I see!
Do this then press the green phone button, tools, Options, Band
and post whats listed.
and yes its possible to restore your system via XDArit and a backup.
As far a the 2002 PPCPE ROM goes you should be able to download it from T-Mobile, so visit their web site and search their MDA upgrade/download section.

My MDA does not boot anymore! I can't get into windows and i can't sync anymore! I have the Radiostack and the 2002 image fram the T-Mobile Website but the image ist a NK.nbf. AFAIK XDArit needs *.nb1 Files? I also noticed that it seems not possible to write the GSM Part to the phone via XDArit.
Hiya Folks
I wonder if you could helpme with a bit of a problem, i have recently attempted to upgrade my XDA using the reccommended downloads from O2, this upgraded my ROM and the GSM part of the XDA. however when trying to get into my XDA it freezes, i can get into the bootloader but get a GSM error, am i able to flash the GSM, if so where can i get the flash and how would i carry this out. i have got into the GSM part of the bootloader and the GSM will not turn on. i have tried copying the GSM from a friends XDA only to find the message "please connect to RS232 and run PC monitor now"
Hope you can help
Cheers guys, you are truly more useful than the folks who we obviously look up to at O2!!!! Mind you this does not say much!!
Thanks again

Can't enter bootloader on xda II help needed

Hi to all, my problem is that I can't enter the bootloader. in other words I can enter it(power+navigation buttom and reset) but i only see the word Serial and v1.01, and when usb is connected I see USB v1.01 , i can't see d2s or any other information and options. I wanted to flash my rom to SD using Multi-Port/USB TTY . I did a search on this forum but no luck so if anybody can give me a hand I'll appriciate it. Ciaoz Mine is XDAII the german verwsion.
Please anybody can give me a step by step info on how to copy the original rom to SD card, I need to change language from german to english and I want to keep the original german rom just in case. Thx
Does it have to be on sd there are other way of doing it which I will be able to talk you through (I think) if you need a hand
Well I was thinking to flash it to the sd in case the phone goes dead and you're out of activesync so the only way of flahsing it will be through SD. But another way of flashing is more than appriciated so I'll be waiting for ur guide.. do u happen to know why I can't see the options in the bootloader? thanks really
1st ... I have no idea why you cant get into the bootloader. On my xda 2 after a cold reboot i just get the serial and then when in the cradle I get usb, from their I dont know what to do. I would class myself as a newbie as well but I can talk you through what I did.
Which rom is it that you want to flash?
The extended rom or the Os rom?
i'm willing to flash the OS rom and not the extended. My version is 1.03.00 Ger and I want to flash to the "Dangaard (Qtek) 1.60" or RUU16006WWE_T-mobile_NL version which is an english one although I heard some people had their phones dead while doing so. I must find a way to back my rom 1st.. Did u do the update urself??
Yes I did the update using a programme called
HimaUpgradeUt.exe
I was originally after flashing the extended rom only, but due to not fully understanding the instructions at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6470&highlight=
I made a mistake and flash the Radio Stack - the OS and the extended rom as well. After this I worked out how to use HimUpgradeUt.exe to flash the extended rom only. I am guessing that if you follow the same procdure for flashing the rom and flash the OS you will get the same results.
However I haven't tried it yet. I am hoping to get the radio rom and the OS rom for O2 xda2 and try it but until them I cant confirm it. I am only guessing that it will work?
So its up to you I have successfully updated the extended rom 4 time but I just dont have the files to do it?
Where did you get you Os file from?
I already tried Multi-Port/USB TTY program , but in the instructions it says"
3. boot the machine into bootloader mode (hold the Power and directional pad , then push reset)
4. Run the rompdate utility, select the comport as "wceusb001" or something like that as the default comport." The problem is that After going into bootloader mode I launched the romupdate utility but in the com-ports I only see com1 and com2 ,there is no wceusb001!!. And where did u see the d2s that I hear about??
I've got the downloads from the forum this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6214&sid=0dad85b97d280219dc51962a01a4997b and the other form here http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cellpoint/tmobilemdaii.html
It seems that we are taking cross purposes here.
Using HimaUpgradeUt.exe you can update the roms using .NBF files,
hence the way in which I updated all 3 of my roms in one go.
Radio.nbf
Ms.nbf
Exteneded Rom.nbf (can’t remember the actual name) it looks like you are using a different up loader or have different files to upload. I can only really help with advice on the process that I followed. I can provide you with the files that I had, if you want it will change your 02 format to I-Mate in English.
Does this help?
well I know we have differnet purposes but we should use the same tool I guess if we followed this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6470&highlight= and the tool is Multi-Port/USB TTY program to back up rom or extended rom. Please provide me the info to back up the rom no matter if to SD or HD. Thanks for ur time man.
I think that you can try using ositools I will find the link and then post it, but again I am still not sure how you reinstal it afterwards

Serial / USB V1.01
I had the same problem, and I found the cause to be a USB Hub. I found that when I plugged the cradle directly into my PC I managed to load the update without any further problems.
I hope this helps
you have to disable usb or com port in activesync, before trying to connect with mtty, or terminal program.

Turn off USB connections in active sync. then mtty.exe should work!
then upgrade to spl1.04!
now you are able to flash complete upgrades, this doesn't work in 1.01MFG
it should work again after this!

ROM Upgrade failure, please help.

I tried to do a ROM Upgrade but something went wrong and now the screen on my XDA II just shows the words Serial and v1.06. When I did a hard reset the screen still shows the same thing. When I connect the device using the cradle the word Serial changed to USB, but it didn't seem to connect to the PC. The Activesync was not activated also. When I tried to run the ROM Upgrade again, it shows ERROR 100: MODEL ID ERROR. I tried to run HimaUpgradeUT_noID.exe, it shows Error 103: ROM IMAGE FILE NOT FOUND. Can anyone please help me get my device working again? Thank you in advance.
Wrong ID
a few days ago i had the same problem with my HTC Blue Angel (also known as
qtek 9090)
temporaly youre PDA shows the bootloaderscreen. On top it shows youre kind of connection, on the bottom you can find the revision of this piece of software.
try this tool to reanimate youre pda.
http://rapidshare.com/files/36498840/MaUpgradeUt_noID.rar runterladen.
extract this file into the dir, where you have copied the original ROM-Image from youre developer, put youre PDA into cradle and check, if the status of this connection is changed in USB. Everything o.k? Right now: doubleklick on MAUpgradeUT_NoID and drink a coffee. it takes about 10 Minutes and after this youre pda runs as well. dont forget to copy youre original ROM-Image with the original Installer after finishing this procedure to avoid any errors.
Well, i hope this tutor will help you. i´m interested for.

Dead XDA II
Hi Guys, I'm new to all this because my XDA has never failed me, until now. I too tried to upgrade the ROM, realising too late that the upgrade from a UK site was not meast for the Asian zone.
Anyway, I tried downloading the following link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/36498840...adeUt_noID.rar runterladen.
When I tried to lanch the file it tells me that RUU.dll is missing.
Is there a link that works or is there a fix for this? As I said, I'm new to this therefore need step by step instruction.
Hope someone can assist, I'm lost without my XDA II.
Thank you
Ben

As of now my Xda II would not boot on the usual windows mobile operating system, all i can see now is a word serial on top and 1.06 below the screen. I do not know what to do and install to make my PDA return to its normal programs. maybe this is due to the failed software upgrade. What would I do and what should i install and where can i download it free? Thanks so much for your help. By d way I'm using vista so i think i would sync using windows mobile device center of the vista program.
Yeah may be u need Mobile Centere for vista. ur issue it seems to be need to re-install ROM. ROM u can search here that is compatible with ur PDA....
O2 Xda II Upgrade
I put my O2 Xda II on the cradle to upgrade it. My O2 Xda II is in bootloader mode
with usb written at the top. I run the HimaUpgradeUt.exe rom. It can't detect my O2 Xda II in the cradle. Can somebody help me please.
Still Undisolve?
You can eject the USB cabble and plug it in again and try to run the wizard
You have to install Microsoft ActiveSyn (4.5 final version for Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista only) before for the USB can be detectable or reinstall it again
Ensure that you plug the USB cab directly into your PC not to a bridge
Good luck !
You can upgrade to WM6.1 for the latest ROM !
HOW CAN I USE bootloader IN MY PPC ???
if you are using Vista then change to a XP computer and do the ROM the way you did it the 1st time. I had the same problem with XDA Exec
help me..!!
hello all senior member..
i have same problem, when i put my XDA II on the cradle then run HimaUpgradenoId.exe after that showing 'error 101 fail connection'. whereas My PDA already shows USB at the top and v 1.06 below. Can someone help me what to do to boot my pda in windows Vista? Thanks.
Sammy - after many days of this same error, I decided to actually listen to the advice given earlier and use a laptop running XP, and NOT Vista.
I was able to then run HimaUpgradenoId.exe without getting any "failed connection" error messages that I had been getting with Vista.
Thank you so much. I did run on the same problem.
Going to try it out on a xp machine.
OMG all..If u could do a search in the google or the forum..there is a complete guide on Upgrading Via Windows Vista
See here for the Guide : http://buzzdev.net/read.php?64,29174
or Search RUU Upgrade in Vista
Yep it worked with XP.
And thank u Ather
