Downgrading - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

I am trying to downgade my XDA 2 (T-Mobile -MDA II) unit back to my earlier rom. I believe it was version 1.6 or 1.66. Not certain. I know its UK based. I was able to update through downloading the UK 1.72 rom with no problems. Yet, now my wireless card is not working. Its not picking up any signals. Its a Socket 802.11b. It used to work with the earlier ROM. I tried downloading the corresponding ROM of the XDA Ftp site yet it kept telling me invalid country code. I then download the Himalaya no ID yet that item is not working. Can someone please help me. I really would like to narrow down whats causing this error, is it the card itself or the upgrade. Any reply would be most appreciated. :?:

Need Expert Opinion About Radio Rom

Hi every one
i need to know what radio rom i should use.
i m using Hermes 100 (JASJAM). when i upgraded the radio rom, i found problem in the phone getting signals. my phone just work for 8 hours max after that it began to gave dummy signals. when i switch to other network sim it did the same thing. worked 8 hour and sleep. from this moment i change many windows rom and radio rom but no success.
but my ph was working fine. no brick no freeze. after much experiment i came to know that my Sim is some old version so all new radio roms doesnt support old ones.
i am using 1.35.00.11 version radio rom. thank God now its working ok. but still got some issues i guess.
so All i wanna know what version of radio rom is best suited for my location (Pakistan) and which can support old version sim.
thanks to all
Honestly, I'd stick with the radio it came with unless you have problems as that's (presumably) already rated as fully compatible with the carrier's SIMs and their network.
If anyone, not just from your country but from your own province/locale can give you an idea of a better one for your specific location and network provider (carrier), I'd leave it.
yes you are right but can you tell me which is the best and most stable radio rom. i am talking about from previous version. like 1.41.... or 1.38.... or 1.27 or 1.07 etc

ROM upgrade required or not?

Hi
I have an Orange (UK) HTC Hero. Works fine actually. However, i spotted a ROm upgrade dated 2010-02-04 on the HTC website (ROM Version:2.73.61.66 for Orange). Currently I am running version 2.73.61.5.
Do I get any benefit from upgrading to the new ROM version, and if yes, what would the benefit be?
Also, I understood from HTCs website that an upgrade wipes out everything on my phone, including Orange's setup. Does this mean that the phone also becomes sim free?
If I do perform the upgrade, how can I restore Orange's settings? SHould I write them down before I perform the upgrade, or could I go to the Orange shop and ask them to set it up for me?
Any advice would be appreciated
Anyone ???
Bro I M Also facing the same situation .. I Also want to know the Ans. can anyone Helps me ? Should I install New RUU ? Or not ?
I wouldnt update, as this is still Android 1.5. Don't forget, that the offical 2.1 update will be released in june.
Actually, by now Orange UK is the only provioder worldwide that has not rolled out 2.1 for the Hero. So I say screw them, and I went for villainROM 12. Best thing I ever did, except I probably need to update the radio firmware, as now it seems to have degraded reception.
I now got all the goodies one would want on my hero. Now to unlock it! (but I know where to get a code for that, so no worries).
Remain in that version 2.73.61.5. it's very easy to root from there. the latest one .61.66 won't allow you to root.

flashin roms

hi im new to HTC HD2, i have the australian version which im guessing is the europe version, i was wondering when i try and install a rom wheather i have to change the name of the ruu_signed.nbh file, ive watched all the youtube videos i could and on some of them i have seen the named changed to LEO.... so im sort of stuck, any help would be appreciated cheers frank
only need to change name when using sd card to flash.
By 'australian version' do you mean telstra version? which isn't the euro version, but roms work the same.
1 - run hspl3
2 - choose 2.08.hspl (not 2.08.0000)
Once you have applied hspl, you dont need to do it again.
3 - flash your rom.
thanx champ, not sure if its a telstra version, ive bought an unlocked 1 from ebay, just doing all the research i can before it gets here, ive flashed fones before i had an LG Veiwty use to flash the **** out of it, ive downloaded about 6 roms im gunna go with the kumar rom 1st i think, ive got all the stuff i need HSPL ect, just wasnt sure about the rom name
Also what radio should i go with if it is a telstra version i know theres alot of choices any help appreciated cheers
Just do HSPL first. Then follow the instructions on the threads of the roms that you want to try. You'll never get lost mate. Goodluck to your flashing!
radios are hardware independant, doesnt matter which you flash UNLESS you happen to get a tmous (t mobile usa) hd2. You can tell if it is a tmous, because it says t mobile beneath the earpiece. If it DOES say t mobile there, then you need to be careful what radio you flash.
thanks guys for the respones and the encouragement, this forum is way better than some of the forums ive been on

[Q] HD2 ROM upgrade problem

Hi all
I have a T-Mobile HD2 which I managed to unlock to my O2 SIM thanks to the help available here, for which many many thanks.
I recently attempted to upgrade the ROM as I was having various issues with texts being transmitted and not being received and a couple of other annoying traits which I can't recall but contributed to my general misery. I installed the 1.72.110.4 upgrade from HTC's website but then realised that this was T-Mobiles
and that no I could no longer set up the phone for internet access using my O2 roaming bolt on. When I tried to install the latest ROM upgrade for O2 - 1.72.206.3 - I got an error message telling me it wasn't a valid file.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can restore my O2 settings or bully the 206.3 ROM to take on my phone?
Very many thanks.

You can use HSPL which will allow you to install any rom on your phone.

[Q] Telatra Australia blocking Exchange connection

I am having issues with my Telstra HD2 and connecting to my exchange server via 3G. Connections are fine via USB and Wi-Fi but as soon as I try and connect while roaming I get an 0x80073EE2 error. The error seems to have been caused when I upgraded my ROM to version 1.72.841.0 (82124) WWE.
I am new to playing with the ROM's on smart phones and I don't want to ruin my phone by installing a ROM that will not work.
I have two questions:
1. Has anyone experienced a similar issue using Telstra and if so what did they do to resolve it?
2. If I flash the ROM to one listed on this forum and it all goes pear shaped, is it possible to flash back to the official ROM I downloaded from the HTC website? I was told by a HTC technician that once I upgraded my ROM I could not go back to the original version that shipped with the phone.
I really like the HD2 but I am so frustrated with this issue that I don't know where to turn. Both Telstra & HTC have been unable to resolve the issue.
If there is anyone out there using Telstra Australia who has flashed a newer ROM that works I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
Regards,
Warren
