Bluetooth Car Kit (Motorola IHF-1000) with my XDA2 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hi, I just install my bluetooth car kit in my car, I didn;t realized that my XDA2 didn't support handsfree profile. There is any program or upgrade of BT Stack that will make my phone support this profile so I can use my bluetooth kit. Thx

Guess the answer's "no" then mate. Lookin' for the same myself...... ho hum

Bluetooth driver for MDA II

Hello,
For one week now, I'm trying to connect my MDA II with a bluetooth carkit. This doesn't work 'till now. The main reason is the missing profile in the bluetooth driver. The MDA supports a lot of profiles, but not the handsfree or cordless tephony profile, wich is needed to communicate to carkits (and more and more headsets too).
Are there more people having this problem and does anybody know if there is an update of the bluetooth driver available?

The MDA II does not support the handsfree profile, and there is no add-on software that provides this functionality.
However, there are some handsfree sets that can use the headset profile (which is implemented in the MDA II). An example is the Parrot handsfree unit.
If your handsfree set does not support the headset profile, I'm afraid you're out of luck...
Cheers

Look at this site. Its in german. This link is recommended by Royaltek in it's FAQ, then the Royaltek BlueGPSMouse BT 3000 doesnt work with the Royaltek-Driver and MDA. I installed the driver from this site on my MDA II and now I have the contact with the mouse. At first, uninstall the old driver!

The software on this site implements a proper serial profile. It doesn't help with handsfree at all, unfortunately.

Daniel (and Widder),
Thx very much for your replies. I've already have contact with T-Mobile Netherlands with the question to deliver a driver for the handsfree profile. I'm still waiting on a reply.
The Parrot is indeed supporting both profiles. I will try the CK 3000. Do you have experience with this unit?

Bluetooth Tools and handsfree profiles

Okay,
So the new version of Bluetooth Tools has handsfree profiles support now as well as headset profiles.
Does this mean that the XDAII can now be used with any bluetooth carkit?
In theory, but I've not been able to get my M1000 working with the latest Nokia handsfree unit.
Waht version of BT are we talking about? I tried a version a couple of weeks ago, but it cannot hanlde a parrot handsfree kit and a plantronicsx headset at the same time. So I de-installed BT.
Hi Mates,
I don't understand anything anymore. I downloaded the 1.0.1.2 version of Bluetooth tools on the following website, http://www.angeltowns.com, but it simply does'nt work with my Nokia carkit Cark112. There is something about it cause I don't even get the "icon screen" while connecting with the car kit but I get it, this bloody icon screen I mean, while connecting with a Nokia 6310i phone.
Do I do something wrong?? Could someone help??
Thanks and greetings to everyone

BT Handsfree & Nokia Car Kits...

Has anyone managed to get their XDA II working with the new Nokia BT handsfree car kits. I tried using BT Tools but failed to get it to work, has any progress be made using an alternative method?
Cheers
NOKIA BLUETOOTH HANDSFREE KITS & XDA2
 i've managed to get my XDA2 to receive phone calls and send them to my Nokia Bluetooth car kit - but i am unable to phone out and then transfer sound back to the car kit - so only incoming calls for now.
i downloaded and installed the pocketpc bluetooth tools:-
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/BTHTools1100.zip
onto my xda and it now allows me to select headset on bonding and accept incoming calls.
if anyone knows how to connect outgoing calls through my nokia BT car kit then i would love to here from them.

Parrot ck3000 carkit + bluetooth gps receiver

Has anyone succeeded in a combination of these two with the Blue Angel device ?
If so, is the audio from the gps software also routed to your car stereo ? What bluetooth protocol would support this ? The parrot carkit supports both the Bluetooth Headset and Handsfree profile.
I think in the end, this would be the best future proof solution : buy a standard pda mount for the Blue Angel and share the parrot carkit between all bluetooth devices present in the car.
Any comments would be welcome !

Ok,
I did a little bit of bluetooth research : in order to have MP3 playback using bluetooth, the device must support the bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution profile) profile. The A2DP profile was included in BT 1.2 spec.
I've read the thread on the HP MP3 headphones, and there they have a patch that will install the A2DP profile, though I'm not certain whether it is a HP specific implementation.
Some other interesting threads on this subject :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12549
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=10747
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=7679
So I expect that sooner or later there is going to be a firmware upgrade or bluetooth stack upgrade from Broadcomm that includes this profile.
The next step would be the parrot : for what I know, it does not support the A2DP profile. I asked their sales department if they have any future products / firmware upgrades that will support this profile.
So once you enter your car, you would have to enable 3 (!) bluetooth connections :
Bluetooth headset profile -> mobile phone handsfree communication
Bluetooth A2DP profile -> regular audio coming from the device
Bluetooth Serial profile -> connection to gps
With all the bluetooth instabilities with the current protocol stack, I wonder if these three at the same time would ever be realistic. Does bluetooth support this kind of bandwith anyways ?
I have a Orange M2000 with the Parrott CK3300 (it has built in bluetooth GPS)- The bluetooth handsfree works fine as long as you update the handsfree kit to the latest firmware. Also you have to pair as a Windows CE device for it to connect whenever you get in the car.
The bluetooth GPS does work but I find I usually have to do a soft-reset and then launch tom tom which then connects to the GPS without a problem.
You do loose the GPS connection when you make or recieve a phone call, I'm not sure if this is a limitation of the handsfree kit or the M2000 though, I've only had if for 2 weeks so I'm still experimenting with it!

Lost My Bluetooth Today Screen Plugin

Sorry if it has been answered before, but I tried searching and it came up with about 1500 responses...
I used the Broadcomm BT stack but it doesn't support the headset profile. So I removed them, but during the removal process my 2020 hard reseted... Any way I got up and working with a fresh backup with the standard MS BT Stack, but now the Bluetooth Headset Plugin in the Today Screen, the one used to set on or off the Headset option has dissapeared. Now I paired my BT headset but have no way to start the BT Handsfree profile since I miss the BT Plugin... Any way to find it back?
Thanx and sorry for the mess...
Thanx for your... help. Solved the problem.
welcome
