I am trying to connect my nokia 8210 carkit to my XDA and I am
wondering if the car audio on pin 3 is a line out or a
loudspeaker out.
Furthermore anyone experience with connecting a 8210 carkit.
Mine has 2 wires for the audio of which one is the ground (I
assume).

Another question I have is how the pins on the connector are. I
know whatthey mean, but I am not sure which one is pin1, pin2
etc. I assume -when I lay the connector down- that pin1 is the
first from the left and that pin2 is behind pin1.

There's a really large and sharp picture on the connectors page.

Yes I know, but I am wondering how the pins are sorted on the
connector on the cable.
does it work?

XDA to IPAQ converter

Can someone list the correct pin to pin combinations for a
converter plug that allows me to use my IPAQ 3600 series
accesories on my XDA.
I've already got the 22 pin end (to XDA) and 12 pin end (to IPAQ
3600 Accessories) in a plastic housing, and I think I know which
pin number is which on each end.
I just need to know what pin numbers from the 22 pin side to
attach to which pin numbers on the 12 pin side.

The XDA pinouts are on our connectors page:

The 12-pin iPaq pinout is at:

X Thanks for the reply. So exactly which pin from the 12 pin
side would go to which pin of the 22 pin side. Could you lay it
out for me?
I have seen on my trawls of the net a converter/ adapter.
Connect one end to the XDA.
Connect the other end to the iPaQ accesory. From memory it was only US$20. Not sure about getting that in Europe though.
Would depend on your requirements whether this would be of any use.
But imagine getting a gamepad hooked up!!!!

I got a few more requests for cable layouts, so I provided cable pinouts for both serial cables (to computer and to peripherals) as well as conversion cables between XDA on one side and both old (12-pin) and new (22-pin) iPaq accessories on the other.

XDA --> IPAQ adapter

In the XDA connetors section of this site the pinout is listed for making an IPAQ 36xx --> XDA adapter.
Do you need to connect to all the pins mentioned or just one?
For Example for GND, do I need to connect all of the pin nos. 2, 5, 16, 17 & 18 from the XDA side to both of the pins nos. 4 & 10 on the IPAQ side? Or just any of the XDA (GND) pins to any of the IPAQ (GND) pins?
Thanks.
I would just use one or two. If you're not charging through it, that should be fine...

I want to turn on on my galaxy tab over a microcontroller but I don't know how to do that. There is this REMOTE_SENSE pin. Is it possible to use it for turning the device on? Or what about these serial interfaces? Any chance here?
I hope somebody knows if this is possible...
I'm not sure if there is a pin that you can use to turn it on but I do know that the tab will boot if you connect the charger momentarily and then disconnect it. I'd research the charging pin configuration and see if you can use this to make it boot; you may need to use a relay or something since a microcontroller I/O pin probably can't provide enough current to trick the device into thinking it is being charged.

Thanks Coffeebeans!!! Very nice find. You were right. Fast on/off will make the tab booting.
This should be no problem for me to simulate this on boot.
thx
