O2 UK Extended Rom (Q) - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

What would be the problem using the original extended rom build from O2 1.72 build with 2003se, or using the XDA2i extended Rom on an XDA II.
The reason I ask is that I have searched the forum and there seems to be no 3003se extended roms for O2 UK, (Sins is no longer available)
I am switching my Orange M1000 over to O2 and I would like all the functionality that you get with an O2 XDA II setup.
Can anyone suggest a link to follow or advise on what cabs to extract from the various extended roms about.
Also how do you edit the XDA2i extended rom as it does not work in EREdit
or is there a stable 2005 release with an ER for O2 UK?

Cook Ext_ROM for Qtek 1.60.21

Here is my cook Extended_ROM for Qtek 1.60.21
I add all the O2 Asia autoconfig, ClearVue, VideoMMS, GPRS Monitor and O2 theme to the Qtek Extended_ROM
Follow this thread for how to install:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=22283#22283
Use the Qtek file instead of the T-Mobile file.
Thanks, I miss the GPRS monitor and video MMS from T-mobile. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Anyone else tried this Cook'ed rom
Is is for xda I or xda II. ??? Is this special for the qtek or any other xda will accept it. I have a siemens sx56 will it work with me. I use cooked rom 40.00.05 in vodafone coverage.
This is for the XDA II/MDA II/I-Mate/Qtek 2020 only that have the Qtek Danggard 1.60.21 Installed. In theory you could put on a T-Mobile 1.60 NL with the Country ID fix hack. Haven't try it yet. But second thought is not a good idea since the Radio and NK will be TMobile and the Ext_ROM will be Qtek.
T-Mobile NL ExtROM on Qtek 1.60.21
Tried it and still using it
I modified the header your cooked T-Mobile ROM and install it on my O2 XDA2 running Qtek 1.60.21.

This one is little bit different than the cooked T-Mobile. It have all the Qtek ExtRom plus the other stuff. One noticably different is the OEM_WWE have newer version.
But Murphy law said if it ain't broken don't fix it.
Upgrade
Thariman!
I need your help! I have upgraded my o2 xdaII with the t-mobile 1.60, I am in Italy and in the mex month will be on market the qtek 2020, so I like upgrade my device with the dangaard 1.60.21 but with your cooked extended rom( is goo for Italy, yes?) can you please explain to me the procedure (or I will not have the country id error?)
thanks in advance
roatto
The cook Ext_Rom is more specific for the Asia Operator. You can still use it in Itally but you still have to configure your GPRS and MMS manually.
If you are already upgrade it to the Qtek ROM there not going to be a Country ID error:
On how to upgrade to Qtek ROM please follow this link:

thanks Thariman for your help!

Remember this is useful for those who have their Extended_ROM read only. Otherwise you can just modified the content of the Extended_ROM.

O2 Asia Rom is it safe???

I have a Uk 02 XDA2 and have accidentally flashed it with an I-Mate Radio Stack, OS and Extended Rom,
The only rom I can find is the Asia Rom, is it safe for me to use this rom on my XDA2, will I get any problems.
Will it return my XDA2 to a normal spec UK 02 XDA2? or will it still be different?
I can dump my O2 extened rom back to it to get the O2 settings. because i back that bit up before wipeing the rest.
What you meant by "Asia ROM"? Where did you get it?
Someone PM it to me?
I thinks its for XDA 2 but not sure?

XDA II on Orange

Hey guys,
I'm getting a XDA II (latest o2 UK update) and I will be using it with an Orange sim.
Which rom is the best to have for me?
I saw the new iMate rom was released.
o2 is installed now but I don't need any o2 stuff as I will be using it on Orange.
What do you guys think?
Keep the o2 rom or upgrade to another? (QTek, iMate, etc)
Cheers
I have an M1000 (Orange's XDA2) and thats running v1.60, the latest one you can download from the O2 site. I'd guess use that on your XDA 2 and you shouldn't have any problems
Hey m8,
Thanks for the reply.
You have a m1000 running the o2 rom?
Didn't you have an Orange m1000 rom?
If you still have the m1000 rom could you post it?
Cheers
Moogled,
What improvements do you see using the 1.60 ROM ?
I have an M1000 with the original (English Language) 1.52 ROM.
Using a couple of tools, I have GPRS always on and my TomTom 2 is working perfectly.
I don't feel that I am missing anything, and since the upgrade would void the waranty from Orange, I am holding back upgrading..
Regards
Michael
Plz share your 1.60 rom for the M1000. I'm having an Orange M1000 (with the 1.52 rom), and would very much like to hear from anyone having upgraded this model.
Anyone gonna help me out with this one?
Thanks
Panja
No one....?
I simply used a standard UK version (it WAS actually the USA ROM when it arrived), of the XDA2, with my Orange UK SIM.
Works fine.
Since then I have upgraded to the latest UK O2 ROM upgrade - again no problem.
I have also done a lengthy post on here as to all the Orange settings ou need for the phone.

No shipped ROM available for UK Xda Trion

Hi all
My colleague and I have UK/WWE versions of the Xda trion (HTC Hermes) from O2 in the UK. Whilst he has upgraded his trion to a WM6 using the "WM Black IV Shadow" ROM, I have left mine as it came originally. He now wants to go back to the original O2 shipped ROM and we canot seem to find it in the Shipped ROMs section of the Wiki. The closest we get is the O2 Germany ROM yet I have the UK/WWE O2 Xda trion!
Is there a way to get the OS, Radio, Extended ROM, and BootLoader off my untouched trion to restore his? I've read the entire Wiki and most information points to flashing the device rather than backing-up or downloading the ROM from the device.
Can you guys point me in the right direction, or better still, provide me with a step-by-step on how to restore his phone using mine.
Thanks
Mark
EDIT: Ah, I've just found the page regarding dumping a ROM (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_HowtoDumpRom). I'll upload when complete.

O2 ROM Needed

Hi All,
Looking at the XDA-DEV FTP, there seems to be some missing files.
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Himalaya/
The last official O2 XDA II ROM from O2 was 1.66.01
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Himalaya/ROM166
Is empty. The next versions are 1.7x which only containt Qtek and T-Mobile ROMS. Does anybody have the original 1.66.01 ROM from O2? All other ROM's aren't english (which doesn't help me, I only speak English!).
