[Search] Display-Change HOWTO - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hi,
I have 2 Mda1 , and i have to change the displays.
Is there an Howto ,already written for peaple like me, or could somebody give me some help how to do this?
The mdas are already open, i only dont know how to get the display away from the motherboard.(the connectors). And i dont want to make a mistake.
Would be very nice to help me
and sorry for my bad english, i`ll hope you understand my problem....

Think this answers the question, worked well for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=15622

Hi, thanks it worked well.
But now i`v got the problem that everytime i touch the mda near the sim-card-holder, the mda goes off.
That means, nearly everytime i take the mda in my hands it turns off.
Is it possible, that the Problem ist the small black thing that is in the right down corner in the batteri-cover ?
What is it for?
Thanks
Imilan

There is a small Micro switch there, that should turn off the device when the SIM-Card is released or entered.
I think this causes your trouble...
Stefan

I'm experiencing this too, but not so often [few times at week my MDA turns off just by touching it].
I agree with Stefan that the micro-switch [in polish it has got a beautiful name "krańcówka"] is the cause of this problem.
So far I don't see any solution 'cause this thing is too small to do anything with it without destroying it [or maybe I've got too shaky hands ]

Maybe drinking some pints of beer before would helg getting smooth hands... ;-)

Yes it is this micro-switch...
but how to solve this problem?
What happens if i will fix this switch with tape?
I think, the only thing is that i have to turn of the mda myself if i change the sim the next time...?
Is this right?
Or could i damage something?
Thanks for your answers!

You could try it.
As you said, you have to remember turning the device off manually when changing the sim....
Stefan

Hi,
Thanks for your answer,
I looked the switch with "Power Knete" some glue- plasticine.
And it is now good.
But now my question:
What means turning of?
Is it only power off?(with the key on the top?)
Hard reset?
or what?

Hi, that's just the biggest problem, because the imei number is in the motherboard they simply don't sell them, so I bought a second hand phone with a broken screen and made one phone out of two.

Can you tell me more about the rom you are using.
It might not bee the mothelboard. Had this problem for a few months until my screen just went black one day!
Had to change the screen cable. It's a design flaw, each time you open the phone the cable gets scratched and soon the wires get clipped. I bought a new niki100 flex cable on ebay and open the phone and replaced it and put a small extra tape over the cable to be sure it would happen again...
problem
there is some version of software without the preliminary calibration of the touch screen of some time I hit on so... perhaps somebody will give bearings... thanks
placing a file name welcome.not on sdcard should bypass the welcome thing
hi, i'm new her.

sorry for my bad english.

[Q] Problems with on/off/standby-button on Nike300

[email protected] i flashed my german nike300 several times. the last times especially with rataplans very well done roms. but now, the on-off-standby-button on the top of the cell works strange. right now i flashed the last german stock-rom (2.09xxxx). the cell works as it shout, but if the cell goes for the first time in standby and the display went black, i´m not able to reactivate it by this button. the only possible way to do this, is to slide the hardware-keyboard out. some flashes before, this button works as it should. if i try to reactivate the display after a few seconds been black, it worked with this button, but not, if it spents more time. could it be a software-problem, that comes because of to many flashing? or could it be a hardware-defect? is there any solution? may be a disambley-guide or so?
best regards
kowalskie

Sorry but thatś all I can do for you.

[Q] The keyboard background light(X10 mini pro)

Hi! I had this problem a long time now.
The keyboard background light is stronger on the left side, than on the right side of the keyboard.
Am I the only one with this problem?
Please can someone help me.
Regards Paul
Same issue. I was told to reflash but I haven't done that yet.
Same problem here =(
On my keyboard right side has almost no light. And vibration is not working. So I just turn the light off.
got exactly the same problem, dont see how a reflash or hard-reset would help.

it won´t. it is a hardware problem.
you could probably try take it back to the retailer you bought it from.. They might but most likely won't do anything.
Got not problems here. Had this phone for 2 months now. Maybe it happens over general wear and tear?
mine is at the TS atm because of the keyb light and wifi problems. i'll let you know if they solve the problem
Hey, that's happens to all SE phones FYI all of you, u can ask some of ur friends with other SE phone and its always stronger keyboard light on the left
Sent from my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro using XDA App

I would attribute it to the overall build quality and not to wear and tear, as mine lost vibration and got problems with keyboard light in less than 2 weeks, during which I practically never used the phone.
So if almost everyone has it, maybe It's the placement of the LED in the keyboard?

When I say "broken" I dont mean "cracked".
If you have dropped your device and then the screen doesnt work, common sense dictates that the screen is now faulty.
It could be that the digitizer cable has come loose or has snapped. It will need to be opened and looked at.
I dont really see what you expect anybody here to tell you other then to get it looked at. There is no magic words that can help you, sorry.

You dropped your device and then your screen doesn't come on anymore and for some reason you think it was a "software" problem?
Cmon dude, do you have any idea how silly that sounds? Ofcourse its a hardware problem, common sense dictates that if you drop your device and then it doesnt display anything that you have damaged something.
In the extreme unlikely event that it is a software problem you can check this by booting your device into recovery mode. If you get recovery on screen then try re-flashing kernel or rom.
