When my Qtek 9090 is in closed condition, it is very "unstabil" and loose. The top part of the device is not well attached to the rest of the device.
When it's in open condition on the other hand, it's seams firm and fine.
Anybody who have encountered the same problem, and found a solution for it? (are there some screws that can be thightened, or does it need service??)
same problem here!
Anyone?

My xda's aerial came off in my hand the other day, while I was removing the stylus. I thought I'd fixed it back on, but I can't get a phone signal now (I live in a good reception area).
Anybody know how to fix these? There only seems to be one loose part inside (a small spring).
Thanks in advance
Ian.
I managed to break mine also, can you send me a picture of what you found under the black plastic cap? the address is [email protected].
Thanks
Hi !
Please send me foto also.

You should have a small conical spring attached to the circular brass post under the plastic aerial/stylus appatuture cover (thin end up!)
Rick,
Thanks, that's what I have - I was worried that something else had popped out. I'm now led to believe that the spring is the aerial? Hi-tech components....
A secondary question. As the black plastic cover has worked loose, I plan to super-glue it to the body. Anyone think this is a bad idea?
Ian.
I had the same problem with mine and also lost the spring. A cut down spring from a biro worked quite well till I had a chance to get it repaired on warranty
Antenna super glue
SuperGlue seems the only way to
make sure it doesn't come off again.
Best regards,
Murk
Ok, so as the title suggests, i'm looking at replacing the housing of my vario (cause its scratched to hell - keys in pockets, and the odd drop )
After looking at http://cnn.cn/shop/8525-blacksilver-full-housing-p-198.html was wondering whether these were suitable for straight swap? as obviously the keypads are different between the herm100/200/300 but i'd keep the original in as its in good condition, and wouldnt mean i'd need to swap the pcb underneath either?
Or am I barking up the completely wrong tree so to speak?
Any help appreciated...especially for you Vario owners who have changed their housings...any problems you came across etc.
Cheers!
bump surely someone must have done this already?? all these reads, and no replies
SEARCH THE FORUMS BEFORE POSTING THREADS
kthxbye =p
i've already searched....n yeh it mentions swapping with an orange 3100 housing...but thats something i'd haveto find on ebay etc...doesnt mention the 8525 housing on cnn..... so was wondering if the keypad fits or not, as the front faceplate is scratched to hell so would need to swap the whole casing...not just the middle/rear panels.
Try this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OEM-Housing-f...oryZ3728QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem
Cheers for the link Paul. That listing seems to claim that you can replace a vario with that housing, so might aswell just bite the bullet and go for it I'll probably look at getting it from CNN still, as they will work out slightly cheaper (~£32 compared to ~£45)

Vario II to be more precise. The Vario is a HTC Wizard.
Any success with replacing? Is it hard to do? I have some scratches myself, and would like to change the housing. Have a TYTN
I havnt had chance to order the new housing yet, as i was skint until payday I'm going to hopefully get it ordered within the next couple of days.... I'll keep you posted on how it goes!
Still no one with experiences?
On this site there is a GPS antena available for TyTn... can we then enable GPS on the TyTn??
http://cnn.cn/shop/8525tytnhermes-antenna-p-1615.html
I've seen an HTC Hermes Case on this site:
http://www.cellphonepartszone.com/Products.asp?shopxpbe_id=64&id=281
but it's not completely clear to me on how to order and pay... (i'm Italian)
Hope this will be useful and you'll understand how to order the case...
Still no one with experiences on changing the housing?
Sei semplicemente un grande..la cover originale è impossibile da trovare!!
However no succesfully experience to swap the housing because in order to be able to change them (Cingular/HTC 8525 and also from Orange but i can't remember the name) with a TyTN, because the internal keypad membrane of the buttons at the top of the phone are (hope for now) impossible to find anywhere. I'm still looking for..

I think enabling GPS is a little more complex than that - there were some required connections on the chipset that are not connected - try searching this forum...
Before post remember the topic of the thread: HOUSING
not gps
After I had changed the housing the screen doesn´t change into landscape mode
Hi!
After I had changed the housing the landscape mode isn´t activate itself while openning the keyboard. It did only once. It seems like the problem is of physical matter but I checket out all again and it seems to be all as it was. I don´t have another complains about functionality.
For those who wants to change the housing I have to say that that takes alot of time. And before you will waist money for a new housing make the following steps:
1. Look a this one verry carefully and be sure you have all tools you need.
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Docs_Tutorials/Wizard_Service_Manual.pdf
2. Think that you will need some stuff that you will put between new housing and touchscreen. (I took the old one but it isn´t a good idea).
3. You will need some glue to glue the old parts to the new housing (obviously the housing is more than just this plastic case).
If somone could give me an good advice related to the screenmode while opening I will aprecciate that.

Your device does not rotate anymore because you have not moved the magnet from the old casing to the new one. The magnet operates the rotate switch. See here:

Oh and you gave a link to the Wizard Manual, but you can get one for the Hermes here www.mikechannon.net
Hi, xda... I am a quiet user here, but i love your forum... it's like godlike for me, but now to the point!
So i got a HTC TyTn HERM200 and i used it for one year, so i figured that i cud buy it a new housing because its old housing looks simply used out! So i downloaded the HTC TyTn service manual to see how to change the housing perfectly right! So i did! I changed the housing perfectly i didn't miss a thing!
BUT... obviously i did...
Now wen i slide the keyboard open, the screen wont rotate anymore! I am desperate, cuz i tried everything.
Maybe some of you who changed the housing before me can help me out, give me a hint or something...
I DID READ the WIKI... there was nothing about my problem, please, please... HELP ME...
you will have to take it apart again to check but I think your new cover may be missing the magnet (lets hope anyways) The magnet is in the bottom half of the case that houses the screen, on the right side of the edge that is closest to the key board when slid open. It looks like a little piece of metal, if its there, touch something metal to it to make sure its magnetized

I'm wondering if anyone has a spare on a parts phone, or know of a source for the lens that goes over the IR emitter.
I was swapping mid-frames out this afternoon, and when I got to the lens, I was removing it, my tweezers stuck on something slightly, and the lens decided to spring away when they came loose... It's way to tiny for me to find (trust me, I've looked).
Everything else was successful, so with any luck, someone will be able to help me out and get my phone back 100%. Just let me know what you need for the tiny piece of plastic and I'll get it to you.
Thanks.
Did you find a solution?
I changed it 2 times and it still the same bug: The case sometimes stopped to work, then sometimes works again !
I can't figure out if it's a software or hardware (both?) problem
Other people have the same problem:

Any idea?
Yup, my flip led case having the same problem.:crying:
Did you try the post-it tip as said in commentaries ? It worked for me!
Maarten van Herpt8 months ago
solved the problem: put a piece of paper in the cover, for example a post-itt, put the phone back in and it works! bizarre but true! maybe something to do with the glass backside that influences the magnetic field? happy that it works again!
Same problem.
