Hi everyone,
I just installed my new Parrot CK3100 (and DVB-T & Car PC) in my car. On an incoming call the display from my MDA Vario (with Qtek rom, 2.17 i think) turns on. But when it is in my pocket it is very likely that it will press unwanted things on the touchscreen.
How can i fix this that (only) when my MDA is connected with my CK3100 in my car, the MDA`s display stays off on an incoming call.
Maybe this question has been asked sometimes before, but i have searched a lot of different forums including this one, but couldn`t find the answer.
Kind regards,
I tried some other things but still haven`t found a solution. Hopefully someone can help me out ?
PhoneAlarm offers this option, and a lot of other useful functions.

Hi,
Can anyone point me to some working Bluetooth Stacks for the XDAII that will run on the WM2003SE upgrade please.
My matey has upgraded his XDAII using Sin's merged WM2003SE upgrade (worked great for a Vodafone network!) and installed the MS BT Stack however this only gives partial results when using BT.
He is able to use the headset etc without any problems however when he tries to use the XDAII in his BMW (2005 model 320ci, built-in BT) he is getting intermittant results i.e WM2003SE connects with the car and the headest without a problem however there is a delay before the car picks up the phone when its ringing and on most occasions simply drops the call.
I wanted to know what other stacks are out there that may be worth trying, I have downloaded Toshiba's BT stack and the Widcom stack but I don't know of any others...
Advise much appreciated..
Godz
i too would love to know this.

Me too! The widcom stack has a useless headset driver as far as I can read..
I installed http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43210 but I am getting out of memory error.. It may be from a XDAIIi??? It also diod a hard reset...
FWIW, to those that have the BMW bluetooth, You will find the first time you make or recieve a call, you have to do it twice. IE dial the number, it will not connect, then redial and it works.
Same when you get a call, answer, it wont connect, then answer a second time and it will connect.
After the first call, it will then work as you would expect.
If you dial directly from the phone it will tranfer to the car kit, but not until the other party actually answers, you wont hear the ringing of the phone.
The big frustration is that although you get sound from the car speakers, I think its only the microphone in the phone that is working. So the other party may have trouble hearing you if your phones in a brief case or your pocket.
Hope that helps

Can anyone tell me if the translated chinese rom has these faults?
I am going mad -
before upgrading to WM2003 SE - my bluetrek G2 worked fantastically.
NOW
it sets it up as handsfree device - I hear people through the headset but people only hear me through the mike on the XDA - the bluetrek microphone seems to be "disabled" in handsfree mode.
ANY ideas how to enable the microphone on the bluetek headset so it is in HEADSET mode and not through the microphone input on the XDA ?
I have been looking for an aswer to same problem. Hopefully we can find something together.
Problem solved
When I upgraded to 2003 SE I had three main problems and spent hours trying to solve them:
1) Bluetooth handsfree automatically kicked in - when I needed headset mode - rendered my bluetrek headset useless.
2) e-mail attachments - enormous problems downloading and sending attachments
3) alarm clock - not ringing
I have solved all 3 problems by reinstalling the 2003 se rom using the rom of 2.06 instead of the "merged" rom which was causing me the above three problems - when upgrading be careful and beware of country code errors - I am no expert but I used the rom upgrade of Hery and reupgraded and am happy with the result. Every time upgrading is a dangerous excersise and if you like me just want a machine that works and not really technically minded - beware of upgrading. I was able to but was nervous the whole way through. They say version 2.06 hangs but its been OK for me. I do not have wizcom on my machine but the only bluetooth I use is the headset and for GPS which work with the microsoft bluetooth protocol.
Good luck
Hi folks,
Greetings from Italy.
First of all congratulations for this web site and thanks to all people who share their info's with others.
Problem: I use a Qtek 2020 with his original latest ROM 1.75.04ITA, radio 1.14.00, with a Logitech BT headset . This configuration works fine, and I can make/receive phone calls without any problem. I also have installed TT5 with a BT GPS Leadtek device and it works fine, BUT I can't hear TT5 vocal instructions in my BT headset! The voice from TT5 is only available on Qtek speaker.
If I receive a phone call during TT5 usage, the phone call is correctly diversed on my BT headset, on TT5 screen appears an icon showing 'Vocal instructions suspended' (but the graphic instructions are ok) and at the end of phone call the vocal instructions start again.
Note that using wired headset all works perfectly.
How can I hear these vocal instructions into my BT headset?
I know using Nokia 7710 with identical configuration it works fine, why using Qtek isn't?
Pls help me! It's is very important, because I'm an ambluance driver, and this function should be VERY useful for us in our job.
I'm availabe to all modifications: i.e. change ROM, change BT stack (but I'm not able..need instructions..), change WinMobile version... whatever you want if it can be the solution!
The only thing I don't want is to buy another device or a BT adapter.
Thanks,
Valerio
Hi Folks,
I have just a simple question,
Is it possible to use the T-Mobile Ameo or the HTC Athena as a normal mobile Phone without the build in speaker or a handsfree like it was possible with teh HTC Universal? There are users saying yes you can but the German Press is telling that you can only make calls with the build In speakers or with a handsfree.
Thanks for help

I can confirm that you won't be able to use it like a normal phone, you either use the build in speaker or headset, however, there is a trick, if you turn the volume down, you can use it "just like" a normal phone
Thanks for the answer!
AMEO no good as phone
Just received my Ameo tried to use it as a phone - yes you can turn the volume down but not low enough that everyone around you can still hear the conversation. I had the volume turned as low as possible (the in call volume setting) which is a bit too loud to put to your ear also the sound comes out of both speakers. The option to turn on/off the speaker phone is greyed out.
Fortunately you have seven days to send you device back if you ordered it direct from t-mobile...I had the vario II before but that kept locking up with TomTom...TT works great on the Ameo but I still need a useable phone. I was hoping to find a registry hack to enable you to turn the volume down and to perhaps turn off the other speaker whilst on the phone - anyone?
Hi,
I got the same idea and searched allready in the registry to lower the volume.
I didn't found it yet, but i am a rooky with registry. I keep searching!
any solution yet? i hate to use those cyborg looking bt headsets...
Any workaround taht enables the use of the phone as a conventional one yet? Thanks.
there could be some registry hacks about the built in speaker's volume during a call. I've found them but modifying them doesn't make any difference. However these settings work on just about ANY other sound that athena could make (aplications, alerts etc), but not the in call volume
I haven't tried it yet, but the Style-I by LG seems to be the best option for regular phone use with the Athena
Does anyone recognise having problems when using a parrot CK3100 with the S740? When I answer an incoming call, the parrot sort of disconnects so I have to get the phone in hand to speak. There is a sign of a tone in the display with a stripe through it. I already updated the parrot-software but no luck. Also checked the compatibility-list of the parrot and unfortunately the S740 isn't in it.
Therefore I'm just wondering if anybody else uses the CK3100 and experienced the same problems but somehow managed to solve them?
Thanx in advance for a reply.
A question : Do you answer the call using the answeringbutton on the carkit or the phone? When you use the phonebutton this is normal.
I also have a lot if issues with the parrot carkit MK6000. After a call it takes 2 minutes before the carkit can be used again (carkit needs to reconnect to the phone and is doing this after 2 minutes) and at every connect it wants to start to download the contacts from the phone. But it never completes. It's about time parrot releases an update.
Solved!
Thanx for your helpful question/answer! The parrot appears to work perfectly when you only use the device on the dashboard to make calls and answer them. With the latest software update 4.18b (which I installed earlier) all works like a charm. Just don't use the S740 to make calls or answer them while it's connected to the parrot.
