Hello!!
It's my first post here. I have a TSM 500 that is the name of the device in spain. It was sold as a mobile companny Movistar, but I found this page and I found the unlocker sim. Now it works fine in Amena ( I don't know when but it has to change to Orange).
Now I have one question, I read in some forums and here in some post that I can upgrade the rom version of my tsm 500/XDA II.
I read about it but I couldn't understand all.
Could you explain me how I have to do it? And where are the files that I have to download and execute.

Can anyone tell me where I can get the original XDA 2 English ROM please - I have installed the German one by mistake!!!
Robinhood, what do you mean you installed the german rom by mistake, what exactly have you done.
I have the English O2 XDA 2 and flashed the rom with the German one posted on this site (don't laugh). All the install stuff was in English and I though I could change the language afterwards. Obviously, I was wrong, I now need to flas back to the original O2 ROM but dont know how I am going to find it.

have you also change the extended rom? if change you must download the UK extended rom and the original rom 1.03 USA. you can get the download from the xda-developerss.
I know I sound stupid but.........

you download from http://xda-developers.com/incoming, download the 1.6 wwe version at the end there, then extract the file to another folder then delete the nb.nbf file, because this is german extended rom, replace the nb.nbf with the uk, go to download from http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4837 , after install it, remember don't install the file you download, install from the folder you extract.
or you can download direct the Asia O2 rom but the extended rom is Asia. this is must more simple. just follow the instruction and it will help you to install it. download from:http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6226

Thanks for the help mate. The last ROM in the incoming Folder is a T-Mobile ROM (39mb) - is that right for the O2 network??? Why is it 39mb?? Should I upload the one above that says ROM 11mb??

Just wondering if anyone know if there is a cab for network wizard for Dopod 838 English ROM for Asia (HK). I just flash my softbank with wm6, but it doesn't have the network wizard. I manage to find one, but it is in Chinese.
Could someone points me to what I can get it?
Also, I notice some forum says I can extract cab from ROM.. try to search thru the post here but can't find much find. If I can't find it on the .net, maybe I can extract the cab myself. Could someone point to me this direction as well?

but make sure u install Dopod_Cert as well if u are using other than dopod branded hermes.

Hey all,
I have just purchased an iMate JasJam from Telstra (was a cheap display model) and i have signed up to three mobile. I want to access planet three and do everything as if i had brought the phone on three.
Can i just install the Dopod 838 Pro ROM?
Can someone post a link to a Dopod ROM? as im not allowed into the dopod website due to me not actually owning a dopod!

To use planet 3 all you have to do is type three.net.au in ie.
before you can do that you will need the settings for 3services, 3mms and or 3netaccess configured. There is a tool that does it on wm6. link is below, you can try it for your WM5 rom. The dopod rom will only serve you to remove any telstra programs. If the cab program below doesnt work there is a thread which has the settings for you to enter manually.
*edit* the cab file has been removed from the thread (first one below) you will have to check back again to get it.

Dopod have released a ROM update specifically for 3 in AU on 2007/03/28.
The version number is: v1.30.707.8 and it states as follows:
838Pro (WM5) ROM code for Hutchison ‘3’ network - version 1.30.707.8 This ROM code will allow you to fully utilize the Planet 3 services.
As i'm not on 3 (using Black 2.0 WM6 using Vodafone AU here) i havent actually downloaded it for myself and from the look of it, its not even mentioned on the Wiki so i cant tell you exactly whats different from the generic AU ROM v1.30.707.4 released on 2006/12/01.
If you cant find it anywhere else, maybe I could download it and get it to you somehow!

Yeah, i cant log into the dopod site as i have an imate so it doesnt accept the serial number. If you could download it and post it on a filesharing site or something, that would be awesome. I know they are fairly big so i assume that writes email out (i have space, im on gmail)
Also, is WM6 good? where do i upgrade?

Amongst the attachments on that thread is a "CWW Enterprises AUS Operator Con.cab"
This program has configuration settings for the Australian carriers, including "Three".
I've just run it and it's created 3mms, 3services & 3netaccess, but I'm still having troubles with email. I'll be leaving it to another day now.

You will be lucky too find it. T-Mobile UK haven't yet released the rom and the dumped file on here isn't available sorry!
I do still have a copy of the t-mobile dumped rom, I just need somewhere to put it for download.

But pmmfleandro is looking for a branded rom and as far as I know the portuguese rom in Netrunnerat's folder isn't branded.
I'm still looking for the pthpd.kdb file to make the Portuguese XT9 cab which is working with a 16 keys hardware keypad. And I am hoping that the file (which isn't included in the rom you post) is in another Portuguese rom.

Contact TMN directly, they provide the .cabs for other unbranded PPCs... I had a dump of that TMN rom in the past, but delete it.

I'm having some problems with keyboard.
After flashing the PT rom the numeric keyboard only intputs numeric values.
I have a HTC Dual from orange with 16 keys (12+4).
Do I have to get some special rom ?
PS: I used the more recent rom and problem was solved.
