heard the jx10 has problems with ppcs. anyone tried it with a tytn?
nope, TyTN is good with Ax2, PLantronics 510 and Jx-10..,I prefer the 510 though
it works fine with my 8525....i also used it with my 8125 no problems.
Interesting. I guess I need to pair this again. I thought I had some issue with it. It connects but no sound or anything.
I'm having problems with that combo...

I have a JX10 from my old Treo650. Worked fine. I tried it on my new 8525 and no dice. Same symptoms. Connects, and I can hear the connection beep, pairing beep and even volume control beeps. But I don't get the actual audio from the connection. Nor does my connected party hear me trying to speak.
Nutbolt... any more luck? I've deleted and re-paired the JX10, but the same symptoms.
Thanks,

It is working for me now. I actually called jabra about it and they got it working for me. You have to reset your Jabra jx10. They pair it again. Basically you need to clear all the settings.
also note that the JX10 does not have a mute function, this was a deal breaker for me.
I had a jx10 till this weekend but lost it...so now going with a blue ant x3 I have two phone is the main reason I am trying this headset
mine works ok with o2mini, 818pro and dopod 838pro

Interesting... that makes sense. Do you know the button/key combination necessary to reset the JX10? That would be very helpful for me, and I'll try it.
Thanks,

Anyone know how to reset the JX10 ?
Also there is a firmware upgrade available here
http://www.jabra.com/JabraCMS/EM/EN/Misc/Softwarejx10
but i can't manage to install it as you can't go into pairing mode while charging via usb...
I could sure use the reset code myself as I have the same no sound problem. Thanks
d
Just spoke with Jabra. that upgrade was never meant to be released.
How to reset Jabra JX10
The procedure to reset the Jabra JX10 is fairly straightforward (once you know) and only requires the headset (naturally) and the power cable that is attached to the charging cradle... This should be the AC adapter cable and not the usb charging cable (although, not sure if that would work or not)... Anyway, simply connect your headset directly to the charging cable for approx. 10 seconds and then disconnect it... Everything should be fine...
I still haven't been able to get sound with it and my TyTn, but it works fine with my Sony Ericsson W610... If any one knows of a way I can fix that, I would appreciate it... I have read several posts in the Wiki for it, but they haven't worked for me....
Well, it seems to work

I have been having a lot of trouble with my jx10 as well. It works fine on my old SE T630 and on a nokia 6680, it used to work somewhat with the HTC Mteor I have, but after I paired it with a SE K610i, it just caused trouble.
I could answer the phone, hang up and trigger voice dialling with the button on the jx10 but I would the voice would stay in the mobile and never get transferred to the jx10.
It took me a bit of trial and fail to get the upgrade installed, but after that, for the first time, it actually works as is should with my Mteor. There is some hiss in it, which is annoying, but at least it works!
To get the upgrade installed, I had to:
1. Start the upgrade application before plugging in the USB cable in my PC. Let me repeat that! Before plugging the _cable into the PC_!
I have problems fully accepting this, but unplugging the jx10 from the cable and putting it in again never had the same effect. I actually had to pull the cable from the PC. Don't ask me why, its the kind of things that makes you believe red cars are faster than green ones.
2. I had to quit the program four times, pull the cable, start the program and insert the cable (with jx10) before it actually got upgraded.
First time, it installed some driver. After install, there was a warning from XP that one of my USB devices had stopped working normally.
Unplugging and restarting program and plug back in and the upgrade tool discovered my jx10 and started. It hang during initialization of communication before it got to download the new firmware
I then did the restart/replug thingy again. No luck, tried one more time and then finally it upgraded the darned thing.
800KB+ into that little thing in my ear. Feels heavier now that I know
Same with me, i cant get it paired with the firmware update. I start the software then plug in the jx10 push power it blinks once blue, it go's into green then i push the pair button and it turns blue then blue and green but the software wont update it.
Make sure you try what I experienced. Plug the cable into the PC after starting the software. That is, don't plug the cable into the PC first and then plug the other end to the JX10.
Something magic about this cable. I could never get the software to react if the cable was already in the PC and I just plugged it into the JX10 afterwards.
Always had to plug the cable itself into the PC after starting the software or nothing happened.
Did you notice any improvements after the update?
Yes, as I wrote earlier, my jx10 now works exactly as it should with my MTeor, for the first time.
WARNING DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITHOUT A FULL CHARGE OR YOU WILL BRICK YOU JX10
I did not have a full charge and it bricked, so be warned, lucky my bud works at the store and got mine replaced under warranty after a full charge the upgrade went fine...

Before anybody says use the search......
I have used it, but did not turn up anything on this although I am sure its here somewhere
I plugged in the wrong cable into my XDA a while ago (Medion PDA car cable)
This blew the fuse in the lighter fitting on the cable.....but......
Ever since this happened, my XDA is broke. I can use it as a Pocket PC. I can use it for email and internet but I cannot use it for phone calls.
The unit seems like it is constantly on speakerphone or handsfree. I try making a call and can hear nothing, either thru the handsfree speaker OR thru the main ear speaker. Whoever I call cannot her me either!
Then, I tried the headest in it. Now...I can hear the call, but whoever I call cannot hear anything!
Is this a hardware problem or a software problem???
Its really annoying me as the XDA itself is in great condition but just won't work
Try inderting and removing the headset several times or poke a cocktail stick making sure it doesnt break, this is a known problem with xda and headphone socket, it becomes jammed in closed position. I have also used a spray can of "switchgear", this is a lubricant for switches and other electronic things.
wow! that was a quick reply
thanks a lot
i have tried that but still no luck. i also tried the cocktail stick.
i'll get a can of oil in the morning like wd40 or something as you descibe.
in the meantime any more suggestions are welcome
Same Problem!
Hey, I am having the exact same problem with my Qtek 1010.. everytime i try use the phone it stays permanently on speakerphone and i can't hear anything... did u ever manage to fix the problem? thanks alot
No.
I never did have any success with it after. Ended up scrapping it
try blowing hard on the audio jack
been battling with this all day...
what fixed it is pluggin/unplugging the headset several times then removing the wired headset plug and blowing real hard inside the jack hole where u plug ur headset...common problem it seems, due to a hardware switch inside being stuck fooling the phone to think your headset is plugged wheb it is not.don't know if the rom can "sensitize" the phone to this problem i.e. make it more prone...
Guys,
Here's a new one on me. New Cingy ROM w/1.40 radio installed yesterday.
Most of day reinstalling apps. No biggie. This AM had the unit out of the USB cradle and ON the HTC charger cable.
Noticed that I had no or VERY low sounds. Ring in, screen clicks (set to loud), everything I tried resulted in little, if any, sound. Ahhhh !!!
Cleared and reinstalled the OS. Restore from yesterday backup on hold. STILL no sounds.
Now what ? Take it back to Cingy ? Hmmm rather not waste the time doing that. Searched the Forum. Stopped the startup animation. STILL no sound.
Pulled it off charger to play around with sounds screens some more. BINGO, sound was BACK.
Restored my backup. All except this AM's install is back. Sounds work fine --- UNTIL I plug in the charger, then they're gone again.
Anyone else experienced this ???
MUST be a new "feature" from the ROM gurus at AT&T or HTC.
Wanted to post something in case someone else has the same heart-failure I did this AM. Now will finish my install, rebackup, and get back to work on more mundane items.
PS, if anyone has a hack to disable this wonderful new feature, please post it. I'd rather have the sounds than the heart-failure again. THANKS
Its not a dodgy pin on the charger making it think its a handsfree kits as well as a charger?
Off in a different direction

Karzi,
Well, your question led me off in another direction.
Removed the HTC Y-connector on the end of the charger cable. Charger alone results in sounds, no problem. Returned the Y into the mix, sounds, no problem. THEN, attached the mini-USB to mini-Stereo adapter I had purchased (to allow regular stereo headphones to work) to the Y-connector... NO sounds.
Apparently the new OS now recognizes that there are "headphones" attached (even though it's only the converter) and turns down the speaker volume to "non-existant", although not completely muted...
See, I said it was a new "feature".
Mystery, however, is solved.
Will now store the usb to stereo adapter with the headphones, rather than leaving it in the charger cable.
THANKS for the "redirect".
I'm hoping someone can help me with this.
I woke up yesturday morning looked at my phone and noticed that the little icon you see when you plug in a headset was appearing.
I thought that it was quite strange condering i never use a headset so i did the obvious thing and plugged a headset in and removed it, yet it stayed there.
I've tried everything, cleaning it, moving the jack around, i even installed a new rom and it's still stuck in headset mode.
I'm guessing it must be hardware related due to the fact that i did reinstall the rom.
If i slowly insert the jack of my headset into the 3.5mm port, there is a point where the icon changes to display just headphones.
Anyone have any ideas because it's really bugging me having to use a headset to make calls all the time?
Unfortunately, it may mean that your Hero is soon for repair.
I had this problem - instead of using the headset, you can also use it set to speakerphone as a work around for now.
For me, a week later the mini USB port only allowed charging, not USB disk or sync and was told it was a circuit problem. Sent it away and all problems have disappeared with change of the mini-usb "flex" inside the handset.
The first tech support guy said this indicated that there was an electrical contact inside the 3.5mm jack which may have got some dirt or water that was completing the circuit and making the phone think there was a jack in there the whole time. Try visually inspecting it and ?remove any dirt with high pressure air? Just an idea.
Good luck.
Did you try one of the toggleheadset apps yet? (http://code.google.com/p/toggleheadset2/ or http://code.google.com/p/toggleheadset/)
It's a far shot, as you already changed your ROM, but you might want to try it nevertheless.
I have contacted HTC but haven't heard anything yet.
The second app you posted allows me to turn it off, however for it to work properly during phone calls i have to make sure i answer the call and then turn headset mode off.
Thanks for showing me the that app as it will help me use the phone whilst wating for HTC to reply haha.
Thank you very much elmicha. Toggleheadset is a life saver app.
My HTC Hero always stucked up in headset mode if I ever plug in the headset unless it is restarted. For a long time I had been scared to plug in the headset to ever listen music coz I'll have to restart it to bring it out of headset mode.
I tried the toggleheadset2 which is available in market but it didn't work for HTC hero. Fortunately, the toggleheadset widget worked.
Thank you very much guys. XDA rocks!!!

Is there anything for a more recent build? Having a similar issue on DLEV 2.3.4 on an Infuse...
Reinstall with RUU should fix this
Hi,
I had similar issue, headset not working and device not recognised by usb. The installation of ice cream sandwich had screwed my phones drivers such that even older roms that used to work never worked again. Please install an original HTC RUU after a complete wipe, solves all problems.

Tonight I try to listen some music on my Tg01 and I discovered the head phone is not working, the answer button on the lead is not functioning either. I dont think is the lead because I keep it very safely and very careful not to damage it, I suspect is the micro usb jack is faulty but I can sync with PC with no problem. Have any one have this problem before?
If I can`t solve it I just return it to Orange for a new phone Phone just 6 months old. Hate to buy a new lead because I just can`t find it and I don`t think that`s the problem, not to mention waste of money.
I am using FFboy WM 6.5.5 Sense 2.5 Beta3 rom BTW.
Problem solved by new micro usb headphone lead. Toshiba one is broken ........

I got it from local market for £5, I am looking in to LG micro usb headphone adaptor too, I think it might work as well.

but in case it helps anyone, my headphone somethimes doesn't work - the sound goes to the external speaker instead, but if i quickly dial a call (any #) & then hang up (before it rings at the other end) then the sound is diverted back to the headphones
Hi adzman808, I thing that this question was brilliantly explained in Modaco's forum by Kevin, some months ago....
http://www.modaco.com/content/toshiba-tg01-tg01-modaco-com/298887/headphone-amplified-sound-output/
I modified a couple of speakers (following the Kevin's instructions) with success. I had exactly the same issue, speakers worked perfectly but, sometimes, sound source changed randomly to device's speaker.
I just soldered a couple of resistors between left /right line and ground, as Kevin said, and problem has been definitively solved.
I'm sure that you have he same problem. By the way, in Modaco I was(am) Xdalover. Nice to hear from you in Xda dev as well.
Hope this help you
Cheers

I believe this is a uUSB control software (driver) issue - have also experienced on occasion.
Typical scenario is when the TG01 has been on charge via the uUSB; unplug the charger and then plug in the external audio connector (eg. one of my home-brew cables used to feed an external 5.1 sound setup - see the Modaco post Pere has just flagged) - device refuses to put audioout to the uUSB and will only play via the speaker.
I have previously resorted to a S/R which evidently reset the uUSB controller to respond correctly to insertion of a B plug wired for audio.
Adzman808's solution is evidently achieveing the same result but by forcing a change of function call by initiating the phone call - hadn't thought of that trick !
I'm still looking unsuccessfully for source of the relevant chip that I identified in the previous post about the uUSB which is supposed to be able to support external charging and audio out and some other functions at the same time....
Hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllo XDA peeps.
so ages ago we all got the marshmallow update and i must say, issues have been a real thing. I did consider ROMS but too risky as i use this phone daily for business's and such.
Anyway so one problem I can not find across the whole internet is the AUX cord problem, now when i drive, I plus in the cord and this notification appears saying "Headset is connected" then disappears, then repeats almost 8 times and lags my phone which after this, goes to normal and finally works. However!
I found that in lollipop I had never had this issue, I just plug in and it works perfectly. As well as this, I found its not a hardware issue, reason being is that other headphones work, every set of headphones i plug in work like a charm.
I have cleared data and cache from smart connect, even disabled it and nothing. Ive booted in safe mode, nothing.
I really just want this sorted as I love this phone, I do. Im not sure if this is a Marshmallow update bug or something but if any fix can be found or advised to me; Id love you forever, because i miss being able to just plug in and play and not waiting for this bug to simply calm itself from this spasm.
Lag is an issue, I have no clue why but it seems the newest update caused things to get hot, lose alot of battery quick and just plain ol' lag. Any fixes on this to is perfect, at the moment though I iwsh to get the AUX cord fixed as a priority to lag.
Anyway, thanks guys and hope to hear something soon! After all, this is a 007 phone, bond never had these issues
Are you sure its not the physical connection on your phone? May it happened to get damaged when you upgraded MM.
Headphones work fine for me. I recently got a rental car with no bluetooth and bought a cheapo stereo cord to hook to the car's speakers and I saw this occur. No lag though. The major annoyance was that goggle play music would stop thinking the headset was unplugged. After some dangerous debugging while driving, it seemed like one end of the chord was defective. When I swapped the problem went away.

Literally nothing hardware related, the cord in my car works fine with other devices. It's very weird and as I say, I did a short test and found that lollipop on this device actually creates no problem, I then updated tonight and found it happens again.
I think it's more software related and I hope android N is just a pure wave ?
I have the same issue.
So so many problems with this phone ?
I have the same problem as well. What I do is plug the jack, wait for it to finally recognize it and then launch the app I need
