TyTN in Bootloader - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Hi,
I have a TyTn in test sample and have tried to flash it to a never rom. But now it is in Bootloader and i can not come out of it.
Anybody know have to flash it the the newest rom.
The bootloader is 1.00

issue "set 14 0" in bootloader to boot OS again.
You need to flash from SD card to put a production rom in a preproduction device:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_PreproductionVersions
Next time please read the wiki and search before posting.

Hi,
I have tried to flash it from the microSD but when it goes into BL, it starts to load, but after 5 sek it stops and goes to the screen with 3 colors.
What can i do?

There was a way published to put bootloader 1.04 on your device, but we had to remove the files for legal issues. Now you can't do much, but wait until we release a free solution to put bootloader 1.04 on your device.

What's the current status of downgrading bootloader 1.09 ?

Hi, I'm a newbie here.
I have great interest for purhcasing Softbank X01HT.
At the beginning, I proposed to flash the rom to English verison.
But recently, I see some messages that we cannot downgrade the bootloader 1.09 to 1.04 anymore.
Therefore, I would like to know ........
Is anyone working on the downgrade method for bootloader 1.09 ?
If so, what's the status now ?
Can I expect there will be a new solution coming soon ?
So many questions ..... hope someone can answer me. Thx !
1.09 to 1.04
ok, what I understood is :
1- you can download from 1.09 to 1.04.
see :
Bootloader
The bootloader is the place where you can change the low-level software parameters and some hardware parameters of the Hermes, change and read the ROM and provides information about it.
The bootloader is invoked by pressing down both the POWER button and SIDE OK together and using the stylus at the same time to press the RESET button at the bottom.
The bootloader version is shown for a short amount of time when booting the device. You'll see "SPL-1.0X"
Versions
* 1.04
There is a bug in bootloader 1.04 wich allows you to flash any ROM without a CID check. You have to be in bootloader mode to use this bug.
It's possible to upgrade the RadioROM. You can even flash a patched RadioROM wich is needed to unlock your device.
* 1.06
The bug from version 1.04 is fixed. Without downgrading to a Shipped ROM with bootloader 1.04 that matches your CID it's not possible to flash a ROM with a different CID.
The RadioROM can't be upgraded. You have to downgrade to bootloader 1.04 to unlock your device.
* 1.09
You can't downgrade to bootloader 1.04 by flashing a Shipped ROM. However imei-check.co.uk is able to downgrade the bootloader.
There was a solution posted on this forum, but it was stolen from imei-check and was removed. If you are not willing to pay you have to wait until another solution is developed.
The RadioROM can't be upgraded. You have to downgrade to bootloader 1.04 to unlock your device.
"There was a solution posted on this forum", the remaining of it is here, what can be shown :
1. Go to Google, search for DownGrade_SPL.rar (rq : does not work anymore)
2. Connect your tytn to PC and wait until activesync completed.
3. Run M3100v3cUnlock.exe. Once you see checking device.... in DOS box and whilte screen on your tytn, close the program (Dos box) immedaitely.
4. Run ROMUpgradeUt.exe and follow the japanese wizard to complete the boot loader downgrade.
5. Reboot your tytn and then put it into bootloader mode agian, you should see SPL-1.04. Great!
6. Download pof's HTC_Hermes_SIM_Unlock_v2a from
ftp://xda:[email protected]_v2a.zip
7. Flash the patched radio rom 1.16, then Reboot.
8. Copy HERM_Unlock_v2a.exe a small PPC app pof wrote into your TYTN memory.
9. Open File Explorer, run HERM_Unlock_v2a.exe on your TYTN and wait about 1 minute until it shows up a completed message. Reboot again!
10. Download mtty.exe from
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/mtty.exe
11. Disable ActiveSync, and then run mtty.exe, choose usb connection; Enter. You should see USB> prompt. Type in: info 2 . When you see 00000000 or SuperCID string. You are safe and ready to upgrade to the latest TYTN 1.35 Rom with bootloader 1.09.
2- BUT the trick is that it is impossible to SIM unlock even if you downgrade Right now there is no solution, and I don't know when or if there will be. I hope there will be one indeed...
3- you can still change the language, but it is limited in two ways :
for the good news :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=281617
for the bad news :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284765
and a good news in process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284765&page=5
but I don't get exactly how it works...
For more information look around the board, or I will try to retrieve the info.
take care,
I'm looking forward buying the same device

As dam has explained, some time ago we published a method to downgrade the bootloader to 1.04 but this method used imei-check copyrighted files and had to be removed from the forum, some people downloaded the files and it has appeared on chinese and russian sites after we removed it from XDA-Developers, but this method violates imei-check copyright and should not be used, if you are a legal person and want to downgrade the bootloader now you should BUY imei-check unlocker.
I started working on a project to Downgrade SPL by modifying HaRET tool with the help of some other people, we managed to put IPL on ram and jump to it, but we still haven't managed to do it with SPL (the device hangs when copying to memory). Now I'm quite busy and can't dedicate all the time I need for this, but will try to finish it once I know how to copy the SPL correctly... if someone has experience in this and want to help, let me know and I can send you the source of modified haret, but it's still a lot to do... once this is finished there will be a free method to downgrade bootloader, now there isn't.
When bootloader is downgraded to 1.04 you can change the ROM because it has a bug where the CID is not checked if you run the RUU twice. You can also use HERMES SIM & CID unlocker when you have bootloader 1.04. But on softbank x01ht version sold after 1 December 2006 it is not possible to SIM & CID unlock even if you have bootloader 1.04 because the radio is read only and can't be patched. AFAIK no one has knowledge on how softbank did this, and there is no known method to circumvent this yet.

wow i am so lost with all of this...

ok so i just recieved my Cingular 8525 today after having my 8125 stolen.
i am trying to successfully install iiwpo but i have encountered a lot of problems so far:
1. i am trying to CID unlock so i can write IIWPO to the extended ROM. on the startup screen i cannot see anywhere that states if i have a 1.04 or 1.06 bootloader so i haven't even attempted to unlock it for fear of damaging something.
2. i can't find a working version of iiwpo. the file that i have downloaded seems to be corrupt and it won't unpack...
i don't want to lose this phone like i did the 8125- please help!!!
p.s. oh and i am also looking for the name of that program that is packaged in with the molski ROM for the universal that places the little red dot in the 'close program' X and asks if you REALLY want to close the program or not. can anyone provide a name for this particular program??
thanks in advance for any help!!!
The hermes doesn't display ipl/spl info at startup like the Wizard did. You have to go into bootloader mode to see it. However, it's already known that your 8525 will be running the 1.34 Cingular ROM which has BL 1.06. To unlock, you have to flash to the v1.30 ROM here which has BL 1.04. Then you can unlock/SuperCID and go back up to whatever ROM you like. SuperCID will give you R/W rights on the ExtRom once it's unhidden using the tools here.
Flashing is much more dangerous on the hermes than it was on the wizard due to the timeframes involved (flash takes 20-30 minutes). Be absolutely sure you have a solid USB connection. Read up on flashing best practices here too before you start. You've got an hour or so of flashing time in front of you:
- downgrade to v1.30
- unlock & superCID
- upgrade to v1.34 again

upgrades wont work

Hi,
I just got my hermes / tytn yesterday and from the first hour on I try to get the device upgraded to wm6 or english (it came with a german image)
Here is the software versions i currently got on it after installing cid unlock and so on.
rom-version: 1.18.257.2
radio version: 1.16.00.00
protocol version: 32.53.7018.01H
extrom version: 1.18.257.106
I tried to upgrade it with RUU_Hermes_QTEK_WWE_2.11.255.1_102_6275_1.38.00.10_108_Ship
WM6_21005_GER_11500
The detection steps of the upgrade work fine. But as soon as the device boots in the bootloader it just stays at the 4 color screen with the following infos:
IPL-1.01
SPL-1.10.Oli
It doesnt start the upgrade and after a while the program on the pc gives me a connectionerror.
Can you help me to track down the error? I read around the wiki and forums but couldnt find anyone with that error.
Thanks and regards,
Passi
EDIT: just to add: I also tried to install hard SPL7 which didnt work because I get the following error when I start the application on the hermes:
Datei oder Assemblyname'System, version=2.0.0.0,Cultur=neutral' Publictoken=.......
Anyone seen that before?
1. Make sure your XP computer has .NET v2.0 or later installed to use CustomRUU.
2. Upgrade to HardSPL latest version
3. Extract the NBH file from the upgrade (use winrar or 7zip) & flash it using CustomRUU.
ok, that worked now. Only problem now is that the radio version of the image i used wont work and my tytn is stuck at the htc screen now. It shows no gsm for about 1 second at the beginning. I will try to reflash another vendor image using the smartcard method in about 10 minutes. Hopefully that will work.
Thanks and regards,
Pascal
I tried using the flash with sdcard method but somehow it wont work. My bootloader is SPL-1.04. I copied an nbh file over to the card, renamed it to HERMIMG.nbh and reset the device to enter bootloader. It shows loading for a part of a second and then returns to regular bootloader screen.
Any ideas what could be wrong or what could be done to flash the image with the sdcard method?
Thanks for any help,
Passi
Edit:
after reformatting my sd card with my pc i finally got the bootloader to recognize the image. Sadly, still no success at all. The bootloader recognizes the flash file but then gets stuck at the checking.... point. Is there any way around that? Im really out of ideas.
Closing this thread as you already posted in the right one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755

just a quick question.. IPL? SPL?

ok. it says this in the tri-color screen:
HERM100
IPL-1.04
HERM100
SPL-1.40.Olipro
ok. so i download the Hard-SPL-V7 and it works. and it says that up there on my boot loader. but what is my bootloader version? 1.40? or 1.04? and what is this talk of the SPL-2.10.Olipro. how do i get that? im confused
oh another thing. why does it freeze on the GSM- part when i use the SDcard method? anyone? help thank you
the latest bootloader is 2.10.Olipro (the latest official one I've released for general consumption)
to flash it, please do remember NOT to put your phone in bootloader and to have activesync synced.
IPL is Initial Program Loader, and is generally not too exciting.
SPL is Secondary Program Loader and this one handles flashing etc and is the one with the exciting crap you need to patch.
have you been able to flash GSM with SD or somehow else ?
I ve asked how to fix it about 100 times on this forum and my device is still bricked

Hermes stuck boot mode

When i tried to install any firmware the progress stop at 11% and the Hermes only turn on in bootmode, any idea??

I had that problem and few more with my Hermes.
While it didn't help me, this suggestion by ultramag69 may help you...
Use the sd card method to flash a new rom, instead of a USB cable/Windows computer.
1. Format a 2Gb or less sd card to FAT32, copy the large 50MB-90MB .nbh file onto it and rename to hermimg.nbh
2. Insert the card into your Hermes and reset to bootloader (hold OK & POWER and push RESET for a sec with the stylus)
3. If you haven't stuffed up the other steps, follow the prompts.
Hope this helps!
Just one other thing summoner, make sure you have Hard SPL V7 installed. Otherwise the ONLY rom I'd try flashing like that is the SHIPPED STOCK ROM. Its so the CID will be recognised and won't cause a brick.
rmorera84, unless you've installed Hard SPL V7 then find the SHIPPED STOCK ROM and flash that, anything else may permanently brick your Hermes.
If you have Hard SPL V7 (IPL 1.04, SPL 2.10 oli) then flash what you like...
Cheers...
- Installed latested Orange rom, that I know of - SPV_M3100_ROMUpdate_1007
- installed Hard SPL 7 & applied SIM unlock/super CID
- re-installed TNT TNT.19199_Professional_Hermes
The result is:
IPL-1.01
SPL-1.40.Olipro
I suppose I should upgrading the radio rom now!?
I am told don't try fixing what isn't broken - and it is working. 3G iNet, Phone, WiFi, BT - all good atm.
Or is there a particular update I should still install?
Thanks!
SUMM0NER, you're using an older, not so safe version of Hard SPL. The Hermes is downgraded to SPL 1.40 when you sim/CID unlock your phone. Best idea would be to re-install Hard SPL V7. Its a later version that seems less prone to problems when flashing.
Go back to the Hard SPL thread and get Hard SPL V7. I had the same thing happen to me when I unlocked the Hermes, nearly cost me my handset.
The steps are unlock Hermes, Install Hard SPL then upgrade OS.
Cheers...
Do I need to re-apply the OS rom file?
I just reinstalled Hard SPL7, now shows as IPL-104, SPL-2.10.Olipro.
Thanks!
My hermes only work whit this rom:Schaps_WM6Pro_ESN_3.54b-0808_Full
Because whit any other rom they stuck at 11%.
This is the info or the phone:
IPL-1.01
Spl-1.40.Olipro
Whit the first rom the htc boot but the phone funtion don´t work.
rmorera84, refer to my last post.
SUMM0NER, no. You have loaded the os, the reason you put Hard SPL V7 is if you want to upgrade the radio rom (not a good idea unless you are experiencing problems) or wish to change the os. Just means recovery is easier than if you didn't have it.
Cheers...
Many thanks ultramag69.
rmorera84 what branding is your Hermes (ie: Orange M3100, T-Mobile Vario 2, Vodeaphone V1605 etc...)?
Can I assume your Hermes is working right now?
If it is download and install HardSPL V.7 (attached to the bottom of the first post!)
Ones done verify that it installed correctly by holding the OK & Power button and pushing reset for a sec. The screen should display the coloured bars and say towards the centre: SPL-2.10.Olipro
It´s Cingular 8525, i could install the HardSPL V.7, now what rom i can flash??
You didn't confirm if it is working right now!?
If it is not working, try one of the official WM5 Cingular roms from this list. If that worked apply HardSPL 7 and take it from there.
Ones you downloaded the Cingular rom update you will have to keep unpacking the .exe files until you come to the actual .NBH file (WinRAR works for me).
Then follow ultramag69's instructions on flashing the rom via memory card.
Works, now i have this info:
HERM100
IPL-1.04
HERM100
SPL-2.10.Olipro
I download the official Cingular WM5 rom, but. i don´t know how install this rom by memory card, could you help me??
Excellent!
Try downgrading to the Cingular rom via USB. Just double click the EXE and follow the instructions.
To use the memory card method follow these steps...
0. unpack the .exe file containing the rom with Winrar (right-click exe then choose "Extract to...\")
The reason to use the memory card to upgrade a rom, rather than a usb cable, is to cut down on failed upgrades (dodgy Windows/usb port/usb cable/etc..).
All working? Try upgrading to a Hermes rom that didn't work previously.
Any rom you can find in the Hermes section. Go to the WM06 part of the forum, theres a sticky at the top with about 50 older roms and you'll find other roms there too (latest is wm6.5).
Cheers...
i install the official WM5 AT-T version the WM6 AT-T, but, i still whit the no-gsm problem, can i flash i radio? or what i can do??
You may not be able to fix this, if you know what the original SHIPPED STOCK ROM was and can find it, then flash that. It may not work, if it gets stuck at 11% - 17% mark it means the radio ROM is stuffed and the memory area is corrupted. Not fixable.
You could also try, if you know what it is, the original radio rom by itself. Again, if you can't get it to work, you have a PDA but won't work as a phone ever again. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Im to having the same problem, it keeps going back to the 2.1.Olipro boot loader.
I tried the memory card option and it starts to install but then stops.
Does anyone have and sugestions?
Cheers
