I'm looking at the Memory stats on my HD2, and I'm a little puzzled.
HTC's website says there is 512MB of ROM, and 448MB of RAM. Wikipedia says that there is actually 576 MB RAM, with 128MB reserved for 3D graphics (which is cool by me).
I believe I remember reading somewhere that the European version of the HD2 has 1024MB of ROM.
The Memory stats tells me I have 702.68MB of 'Storage' and 450.51MB of 'Program.' I'm going to guess 'Storage' is ROM and 'Program' is RAM, but those numbers don't quite line up.
Anyone want to explain this to me?
I'm using Kumar's newest 'Classic' ROM at the moment, waiting not-so-paitiently/refreshing-the-page-every-10-minutes for the 'Lite' version to appear.

Actually you have it backwards, the TMOUS HD2 has the 1024 ROM ...
Is there a way to take advantage of the 1024MB? And is that something I would do every time I flash a ROM?

Well you are , the 1024 Rom is your internal storage, what ever is left over that your actual OS does not take up , for installing programs and such ...
i flashed my hd2 with a cooked rom (energy: very good), and i noticed rom size is only 204mb (half available). i read in the forum that problem is related with hslp.
is it correct? is there a way to flash a cooked rom with hslp and more rom size?
thanks
thats about right. 512 meg total physical rom size, most roms once installed take up about 300 meg, leaves you 200 or so free.
thanks for answer but situation seems different. i don't read '512 total, 200 free', but '202 total, 100 free'.
in other cooked rom, flashed xith hslp, how much rom is?
do you mean RAM or ROM?
for regular hd2.
rom = 512 meg hardware total, approx 300gets used when you first install the rom, leaving around 200 that you can use to install programs and files.
BUT
if you meant to say 200 total RAM then you probably installed rom 3.14 using hspl, which loses half your ram and makes the phone unstable so don't do it.
My system ROM is 325 MB giving me 91.9 MB free. It seems this is getting larger and larger as I try different ROMs. I'm on Com ROM 2.0 OTB 1.5 kernel. Any ideas on how to clear it, if possible, without destroying system? Com ROM 2.0 is only 155 MB when you download it.
Before flashing the Revolt JB 2.6 rom the task manager displayed X/802 MB of RAM.
After flashing the task manager disappeared so I downloaded a free apk which is supposed to do the same thing. The new task manager displayed X/750 MB of RAM (with X being much higher than usual)
Why is the RAM capacity lower than before?
