My system ROM is 325 MB giving me 91.9 MB free. It seems this is getting larger and larger as I try different ROMs. I'm on Com ROM 2.0 OTB 1.5 kernel. Any ideas on how to clear it, if possible, without destroying system? Com ROM 2.0 is only 155 MB when you download it.

I'm looking at the Memory stats on my HD2, and I'm a little puzzled.
HTC's website says there is 512MB of ROM, and 448MB of RAM. Wikipedia says that there is actually 576 MB RAM, with 128MB reserved for 3D graphics (which is cool by me).
I believe I remember reading somewhere that the European version of the HD2 has 1024MB of ROM.
The Memory stats tells me I have 702.68MB of 'Storage' and 450.51MB of 'Program.' I'm going to guess 'Storage' is ROM and 'Program' is RAM, but those numbers don't quite line up.
Anyone want to explain this to me?
I'm using Kumar's newest 'Classic' ROM at the moment, waiting not-so-paitiently/refreshing-the-page-every-10-minutes for the 'Lite' version to appear.

Actually you have it backwards, the TMOUS HD2 has the 1024 ROM ...
Is there a way to take advantage of the 1024MB? And is that something I would do every time I flash a ROM?

Well you are , the 1024 Rom is your internal storage, what ever is left over that your actual OS does not take up , for installing programs and such ...
i flashed my hd2 with a cooked rom (energy: very good), and i noticed rom size is only 204mb (half available). i read in the forum that problem is related with hslp.
is it correct? is there a way to flash a cooked rom with hslp and more rom size?
thanks
thats about right. 512 meg total physical rom size, most roms once installed take up about 300 meg, leaves you 200 or so free.
thanks for answer but situation seems different. i don't read '512 total, 200 free', but '202 total, 100 free'.
in other cooked rom, flashed xith hslp, how much rom is?
do you mean RAM or ROM?
for regular hd2.
rom = 512 meg hardware total, approx 300gets used when you first install the rom, leaving around 200 that you can use to install programs and files.
BUT
if you meant to say 200 total RAM then you probably installed rom 3.14 using hspl, which loses half your ram and makes the phone unstable so don't do it.
Not sure what happened but when I add up my ram from my running aplications it doesn't add upto 800...It used to add up to 879. I've just recently used fastboot to erase system, cache, user data, webtop, etc and even after all that it still under 800. I'm running Alien #4 with no OC kernal. Trying to get battery life. I love CM7 beta 2 but I need a camera and tethering.....kids and no unlimited data for them.
SetCPU shows 900852 MemTotal and 368730 MemFree.....which seems pretty good.
i have the aura rom with faux's kernel 0.1.7 installed and my ram only adds up to 700 mb, mine also used to add up to over 800.
setcpu memtotal: 835712
memfree: 292500
any ideas?
thanks
When I flash an AOSP rom and it goes to the Android is updating screen it says that I have around 100 apps, but when I flash a sense rom it says it's updating around 250 apps. Anyone have any suggestions on where I need to look to eliminate these extra files? I've used ROM cleaner and a few different file explorers to try and fix it.
Sense ROM's have many more files, hence the difference in apps you see updating. You can use ROM cleaner to get rid of some of those apps, but it'll still be larger than most AOSP ROM's.
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much
Hello I have a Alcatel one touch fierce 7024w which is rooted with KingRoot. My issue is there seems to be a memory leak on Android JB 4.2.2(latest) and whenever I use a certain application for a period of time (usually YouTube) it will just crash no error anything just crash to launcher. I check ram and 0.98 GB used 10 mb free. I check applications and it only adds up to about 100+ mb ram even cached. No ram releaser app works and only solution is to reboot device where cycle restarts all over again. Tried factory reset and delete cache through recovery but doesn't work. I can't restore Android because there is no development on this device. I have a update.zip file is there any way i can replace certain system files from ones in the update.zip with sideload?
I can't take screenshots.
Any ideas?
