So, what is the general description of a bricked phone? Here's what's happening to me:
After the upgrade to the new HTC 2.06 test ROM, I get "Number dialed is not a working number" messages on about 40 - 50% of my calls. This happens no matter what number I call, including voice mail. Any ideas?
I have reflashed to the HTC 1.35, Cingular 2.06, etc., etc., etc. Any information is greatly appreciated!

I know this is a little Bizzare, I actually do want to use the phone on my device, but for some reason, I am not getting all of my incomming calls.
I can make new calls (outgoing) no problem, but incomming calls go to Voicemail after 4 rings. The device doesnt even wake up, or illuminate to say there is a call.
Call log showed no calls, while my Wife's wizard showed she had called me 16 (yeah, she tried a LOT) times.
Is this a known issue with the Faria Rom?

have you upgraded to a custom rom lately? since most of the wm6 roms people highly recommend using the t-mobile uk radio rom 2.19.
mdajunkie is correct. Radio 2.19.11 should solve your problem.
Sorry for the noob question, but i have looked everywhere and could not find an answer.
So yesterday I install nueSPL 2.47, on my Verizon XV6800 and then flashed to Radio 3.42.50 and then flashed to DCD Rom 3.2.6. I had some problems with authentication, so I called Verizon and they couldn't fix the problem at night because the system was down but they were able to fix things the next morning. Not sure what they did because they didn't give me a new A-Key over the phone.
So after that I was able to place calls out. I then downloaded the Verizon cab and was able to connect to the internet. I am also able to send and receive txt messages, but I can not receive phone calls. Now strangely after ending a call, I did receive one phone call but that was it. The rest of the time anyone calls it only rings on their end and then goes to voice mail. Then a few seconds later I will get a notification that I have a voicemail.
So since all this happened I have reflashed the dcd rom and reloaded the carrier cab. and called both *228 -1 and *228 -2. I still can call out, use gps, internet, and txt, but not get any calls. Any one have any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
that very interesting... I recently upgraded my father in law's phone and also experianed the same thing.
Also interesting, when I did the upgrade to my phone a few months ago I had to get an a key.. I also had to get one once after a hard reset. Perhaps they fixed something for this.
Keep calling VZW not all techs know what there talking about, eventuality you will run into one that know exactly how to fix your problem.
Quite a while ago, I flashed to DCD 3.2.6. After that, I noticed that I couldn't dial phone numbers from my contacts, but I could dial them directly. When I would dial using the contact, it would look like the call was going through, then I would get three error chimes and a message saying the call was disconnected.
Finally, I figured out that the difference is that in my contacts, the phone numbers all have "+1" before the number, i.e. "+1(206) 555-1212". This is the international prefix (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_international_call_prefixes#Syntax).
I assumed that this was a problem with DCD 3.2.6. However, I just flashed DCD 4.1.2, and the same issue is there. I suppose I could go through all 223 of my contacts and edit the phone numbers to get rid of the plus sign. However, this is the correct format for a number, and non-custom ROMs have worked fine with it.
Anyone got an idea of how to get the dialer with DCD 4.1.2 to work with these phone numbers? I'm guessing I just need to change some configuration relating to my International Prefix (U.S.) Alternatively, does anyone know of a ROM that does work with these phone numbers and also keeps the GPS and tethering (via Internet Sharing) working on my Verizon XV6800?
Thanks,
Jamie
Got it
Okay, I found it.
In the dialer application, go to "Menu", "Options...", "Services" tab, scroll down to "Plus Code Dialing". The rest is self-explanatory.
Hopefully, this will save someone else some time.

Unsure if this is the correct thread, but I would like assistance.
So I've been texting my girlfriend on viperROM, and it has been working perfectly. I transferred to MIUI the other day, and we were able to text for a few hours, but then I just stopped being able to receive her text messages. She can receive mine. I cannot receive hers, but I can receive texts from everyone else who has tried to text me. I have done a data wipe and reinstalled MIUI, and I've quadruple checked that she is not on my DND list. Any reasons this could be happening? Any suggestions to fix it?
This could be a kernel or baseband issue. Before I upgraded my baseband, I would send out texts and not hear back from anyone until i sent another few texts. It turned out that people would receive all my messages days later (the longest was 3 days I believe), and I would suddenly get flooded with people responding all at once. So, please post whether you're on hboot 1.5 or not and post what radio baseband you're on (you can check both of those by booting into your bootloader). with that information, either I or someone else who's more experienced with this phone than me could better help you out.
um, i'm on the 2.08 ota, and i have hboot 1.5
I've seen some threads here and on Google with similar trouble but never any solution...
My phone calls started going to voice mail about 3 weeks ago WITHOUT phone ringing, leaving voice mail notification or showing in call history.
Checked the obvious, ringtones, etc. Phone will not ring or show any visual of incoming call..
Performed several hard resets, factory reset, Restore prior backups. Wiping caches. Everything except re-flashing MEANROM which I will do if nothing else works.
Called SPRINT support and they reset everything (any call forwards, etc.) Updated PRL, Profile... Entered 3 codes given to me by SPRINT (*720, *730, *740) No change. They said after powering back on the phone would perform a "Hands Free Activation". (This did NOT happen?) Phone will not ring or show any visual of incoming call..
HTC EVO 4G LTE
I have MEANROM_ICS_6.5 installed... Rooted S-ON.
Android 4.0.4
HTC Sense 4.1
Kernel 1.05.11.0606
Build 2.13.651.1 CL99866
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I was looking for this code. When I try it asks for a password. I entered my SPRINT PIN # but it doesn't work.
What password does it want?
Thanks!

There is no menu. Just as soon as I enter the last # a password prompt appears. (Password / cancel / Ok)

Call Sprint and ask for password. It's not your pin and they gave it free

The "Code" it wants is the MSL number. Once I entered that into the password prompt it allowed me to do the network reset. The phone re-boots and updates PRL. As soon as that was done I got 8 undelivered text messages but it still will not ring the phone on incoming calls.
Closer but not yet there...

Well, if it were me and I was running what you are, I would seriously consider going S-off and updating your firmware.

I had the same problem about a week ago. I updated the profile under system updates and everything worked fine after that.
Problem Resolved!
Problem resolved on SPRINT's end! Apparently tech support neglected to reset one option which when reset the phone worked. (she didn't say what it was but saw it immediately.)
I would really like to play around more with flashing different ROMS except I'm a newbie and while most of my problems have been solved here I find it too difficult begging for assistance. I find more one liner answers stating "... just do X Y or Z..." then off they go never answering further questions. There's just too many combinations of ROMs, Radios, HBOOT, Firmware, etc. that at almost every turn I get a sick feeling in my stomach that something is going to brick my phone and I'll have to beg here for someone to hold my hand. I tried MEANBEAN for a while but found the battery life not so great and was missing Beats audio. (I listen to internet radio in my car rather than my car stereo...) That's why I'm staying on ICS.
Thanks for all that tried to help me. I'll be clicking the Thanks button...
