I've seen some threads here and on Google with similar trouble but never any solution...
My phone calls started going to voice mail about 3 weeks ago WITHOUT phone ringing, leaving voice mail notification or showing in call history.
Checked the obvious, ringtones, etc. Phone will not ring or show any visual of incoming call..
Performed several hard resets, factory reset, Restore prior backups. Wiping caches. Everything except re-flashing MEANROM which I will do if nothing else works.
Called SPRINT support and they reset everything (any call forwards, etc.) Updated PRL, Profile... Entered 3 codes given to me by SPRINT (*720, *730, *740) No change. They said after powering back on the phone would perform a "Hands Free Activation". (This did NOT happen?) Phone will not ring or show any visual of incoming call..
HTC EVO 4G LTE
I have MEANROM_ICS_6.5 installed... Rooted S-ON.
Android 4.0.4
HTC Sense 4.1
Kernel 1.05.11.0606
Build 2.13.651.1 CL99866
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I was looking for this code. When I try it asks for a password. I entered my SPRINT PIN # but it doesn't work.
What password does it want?
Thanks!

The "Code" it wants is the MSL number. Once I entered that into the password prompt it allowed me to do the network reset. The phone re-boots and updates PRL. As soon as that was done I got 8 undelivered text messages but it still will not ring the phone on incoming calls.
Closer but not yet there...

I had the same problem about a week ago. I updated the profile under system updates and everything worked fine after that.
Problem Resolved!
Problem resolved on SPRINT's end! Apparently tech support neglected to reset one option which when reset the phone worked. (she didn't say what it was but saw it immediately.)
I would really like to play around more with flashing different ROMS except I'm a newbie and while most of my problems have been solved here I find it too difficult begging for assistance. I find more one liner answers stating "... just do X Y or Z..." then off they go never answering further questions. There's just too many combinations of ROMs, Radios, HBOOT, Firmware, etc. that at almost every turn I get a sick feeling in my stomach that something is going to brick my phone and I'll have to beg here for someone to hold my hand. I tried MEANBEAN for a while but found the battery life not so great and was missing Beats audio. (I listen to internet radio in my car rather than my car stereo...) That's why I'm staying on ICS.
Thanks for all that tried to help me. I'll be clicking the Thanks button...

Like the title says, everytime I flash a new one, or if I flash ziggy kernel especially I cannot get voice calls or data, i get radio interface shortage errors when texting ect, i have to do the ##3282# reset about 5 times to get anywhere, any theories or suggestions? I haven't seen anyone else with this problem and it started when I flashed xron ROM a few nights back..
Are you a google voice user? Are you gsm or cdma?
I only use google voice for voicemail, its Sprint CDMA
Did you update your radios AND firmware? I think the file was radio firmware nohboot or something like that?

It doesn't happen to me EVERY time, but I find myself having to go through the whole reprovisioning and re-setting data thing a lot more than I would prefer to. Hell, I've had 6 of these handsets since release date and I've had to **** around with this issue right out of the box on EVERY one! Love the phone but cmon HTC....wtf!! They really screwed the pooch on this phone, lol.

My problems are usually data problems. As far as losing voice, that happened once after using one of the older "superwipe" files floating around. Took a whole Saturday to get it back, had to get Sprint involved...boy was I pissed! Been using XRON superwipe lately and it's doing the trick!
Try ##scrtn# from dialer then enter your msl. After it reboots let us know if that works.

Still didn't help, when I go to more info on the radio interface shortage error the error code is 67,wasn't that the code a lot of people were getting after revolutionary first came out?
Call sprint and have them reset on their end....and good luck
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
I might have to do this, for some reason this actually happens after every single reboot, had to clarify that.
This happened to me too, even with those resets you are talking about I wasn't able to fix it. You have to call sprint, they do something on their end, guide you through the same process you are talking about, and then it works. Dial 611, tell them the error and any error code you have. Apparently they are familiar with it because they know exactly what you are facing and know how to fix it without doing any research or any other diagnostic steps.
I don't think this problem has anything to do with HTC, or the phone itself. I think it has to do with Sprints Google Voice integration. I use GV for voicemail only and I have this problem every once in s while. Next time it happens, try making the call using GV. If it works you know this is your problem. For some reason, even though you have it set up differently, GV will take over. This is a completely separate issue from the error 16 that a lot of people are getting with this phone. If it is an error 16 a simple call to Sprint will fix it. If it is the GV integration thing, then it is much harder to fix and rebooting to recovery, wiping cache and dalvik will sometimes fix the problem. Also, reflashing the kernel will sometimes fix it too. I haven't figured out a definite way to fix it yet though. It seems every time this happens, it takes something different to fix it.
I'm actually not even setup to make calls on google voice, I went directly onto the voice. Google. Com website and changed the settings to voicemail only and turned off all other integration.. Can it still be interfering?

Yes. Mine is set up the same way and when this happens if I choose to ask me every time I make a call in the GV app settings and choose GV to make the call it goes through, but when I chose do not use GV it won't work. I get a message that says, "I'm sorry, we are unable to complete your call at this time. Please try again later" and that's it. Since the Google Voice integration with Sprint I have noticed that no matter who you are calling you must dial 1, then the area code, then the # even if it is a local call.
My phone doesn't receive calls when I've used data on my phone, like launching gmail. I have to make an outgoing call or reboot to get calls to come thu. Once I use data again, calls won't come thru. Even a factory reset hasn't resolved the issue. Any idea?
It seems my phone doesn't switch back to voice once I've used data unless I make an outgoing call or reboot.
Sprint has been no help on this issue.
Thanks in advance.

is there an easy way to get the msl code?
"The steps are as follows: using your phone dial pad dial ##3282#
Select edit mode and enter you device's msl code. Go to Data Profile then press menu and choose 'restore". Your phone will reboot and reprovision upon reboot."
sorry sorry it slipped my mind to list the steps, the neighbors do this rodeo crap on the weekends but once a month they do one whole week and I get no sleep. its really been screwing with me
if you call sprint and ask for it they technically have to give it to you. or you can use cdma workshop

Sprint was able to get me back online. Hopefully the reprovision solved my issue. THanks
Sometimes updating your profile can leave things screwed up, did you update your profile before the issues started? I had a similar problem once after updating my profile, called cs and immediately asked them to escalate the issue but the lady on the other end would not, she pushed 4 profiles before giving up and escalating my call. If you can always escalate the call, 1st tier reps are peons

I was on the 8/20 CM10 build when I randomly stopped being able to send/receive texts. They don't go through. I nandroided back to a sense rom, and according to Sprint Zone there was a problem with the data radio, but I could make calls fine and had a strong 3g connection.
So far I've done (in this order)
Wipe on cm10
Update cm10
update radio
nandroid
wipe a few more times
update radio
wipe some more
call sprint
Did
PRL update
Profile Update
Service Update
Got an escalated engineer ticket
RUU'ed
Updated profile/prl
Tried reactivation
Tried messing with the ##3282# menu
Still nothing.
If I send it'll just hang on the sending then I'll get a pop up saying it couldn't be sent... Any more ideas?
I had a similar issue, it stemmed from Google voice. Ended up being a problem with provisioning and I had to escalate twice to get to someone who could "refresh" my line (her words) and that fixed it. Do you have your number ported to Google Voice?

Yes, but I don't have the gvoice app on my phone.
When you dial *2 does the voice test in sprint zone fail? If it does you might have the same problem and the only way to fix it is to have them do this "refresh". I tried everything else, completely returned my phone to stock but it didn't matter because it was "corruption in provisioning" I believe the rep said.

That's exactly what I noticed when I first flashed back to a sense rom. I'ma call them tomorrow and ask them to do that thanks!
Greetings, and thanks to everyone in the community who has rendered me help in the past.
I recently S-OFF'ed my EVO 4G LTE. I initially had no mobile data or phone service. I did the sprint one-touch activate though, hit "update profile," and after multiple attempts and significant waiting, my phone activated and I could make calls. When I left my house though, I noticed that I couldn't get mobile data. I could make calls and such, but no Google, Internet, or anything, unless I was on Wi-Fi.
I tried updating PRL and Profile again through both Viper Mod and MeanBean, since they're close to stock Sense, but Updating PRL never worked, and Updating Profile never connected. It stayed on "The network is preparing your services."
At some point, I lost service entirely. Before, when I had no phone service, any call would lead me to the voice that says, "Your phone needs to be activated." I activated it, and everything was fine. I may still be activated, but the reception bar shows 0 bars and a little X, while the drop down menu reads "Looking for Service."
Again, thanks for everyone who helped me get S-OFF, Flash my radios, etc., in the past. Please help me get my phone fully functional again.

Just call Sprint and have them send a refresh signal to your device. This is a common side effect of the S-OFF process. Always make sure your service is fully working before moving on to a custom ROM. However, as long as you're on a Sense-based ROM, you shouldn't have any issues getting your device re-activated. You could also try a ##786# reset.

Thank you Captain. I've tried ##786# but I can't find my MSL, either through MSL reader or CDMA workshop. Neither can find the SPC, so I think I'll have to call sprint on google voice or something.
Edit: I got my MSL and did a ##786# reset. This allowed me to update profile and update PRL successfully.
I sitll have no voice or mobile data, no bars and the X at the top (there is another sprint phone in the same room getting reception so it's on mine.) In the ##786# menu, there is no MDN Phone number and no MSID. Hmm.
Okay, I've got my MSID now and Number. It does a commit failed in meanbean though when I try to enter them.
Addition. Sprint refresh signal did NADA.
Been waiting on AT&T to get back to me, having opened a tech ticket (On Sunday) to resolve issue. I can receive MMS messages, but I can't send one. Regular SMS not a problem. Have no issue with my Data connection. Reviewing the logcat file, I see a HTTP 502 error bad gateway showing up when the error occurs. So I am wondering if this is an issue with the HTC Phone on AT&T Network.
I have tried using different APNs, but that doesn't have any effect. I then decided to try a different ROM from Stock, and installed Venom latest. That had no effect.
So anyone else having an issue with sending MMS on AT&T with the M9?

Ruu and start over. Something has happened somewhere. I can't think of anything but a setting that would cause that. I would only backup your photos etc, i would not restore back to your current setup. Use ruu.exe or sdcard method, not fastboot method.

I'm going to wait for AT&T I think it's an error on their end. Supposed to hear by Friday.
I have had that exact problem with a different device before and it was an issue on the network side, not the device. They had to do some reprovisioning with line and that fixed it up. It is ridiculous that they are making wait so long when it is such an easy fix. Have you tried sending an MMS to yourself? Sometimes this helps with the provisioning.

Yes I have tried that, and sometimes it works but mostly doesn't. Supposed to hear back today.
AT&T never got back to me, so I had to call them. The girl I was working with seems to think it's the SIM card. That doesn't make sense to me, because if it works with the Interwebs, Facebook, Instagram, and I can recieve MMS, then I would think it's not the SIM card, whatever. Am going to test it the SIM card on my S4 to see if that makes a difference (Don't think it will.)
The people that answer the phone when you call are the first level of support. They know very little when it comes to technical support. If turns out not to be the sim card, calk back and ask them to pass you on to the next level of support.

I agree, the person I spoke with last Sunday elevated me to a next level tech who was still unable to figure it out. After trying a new sim card which still didn't work, I did a data reset from settings. It fixed the problem, and I still had root
