New at&t splash screen - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

for the 8525, can i get this on my TyTN that i am running the Vanilla WM6 on? i dont really like the splash screen built in and would like that animated 3G at&t one?

hi, download the cingular wm5 aku3.2 ROM and use nbhextract to extract the .nb files.
two of them will be the boot splash screens. You can flash them to your device as long as you have bootloader 1.01mfg on your hermes. Please see the wiki under Bootloafer 1.02 for more info. It has detailed info on how to flash the boot screen images.

the animated splash is not installed as a splash, its actually in the rom! It requires a gif, some dll's (which im not sure which ones exactly) and some reg keys to make it work.

I am personally trying to get rid of it.
I got the volume turned down, but now just trying to find a way to remove it.

Custom Splash Screen ;)

Hello there,...
because several design thinks of me and also the possibility to do that know... i have made a custom splash screen for me and my tytn/hermes...
2nd cause is that the brand new htc p3300 of my friend is stolen just infront of our eyes.... and i'm sure that the phone get back to daylight in a small handy shop .... and with that costumization i think they must be very clever to reflash that... (hopefully the don't know about this forum )
in the attechment there are the 2 splash files (main + sub - not ident!! )
never mind me if it look for someone not nice about... i like it and maybe anyone too...

I also have thought about adding a custom splash screen, incase it is stolen. Would be even better (if....IF...the gps chip gets working) if a small app was made that can act as a homing device if it also ever gets stolen.?!?!

if the device connects to an Exchange Server 2007 or Exchange Server 2003 with SP2 they both support remote wiping which can be good
I just created a custom splash screen as well. BL 1.01 is pretty neat.
Someone point me to the utility to generate custom splashes for the Hermes (if it's out there!) as I've lost touch with the xda devs forum recently, been very busy and unable to keep up with what's going on :/
come guys, let's see some more splashscreens!
My Splash Screen
I pity the phewl that steals this pda
Mwhahahahaha
Kinda lame but still

Hi All,
I'm attempting to create a custom boot screen. Followed all the instructions in the wiki. My device has the 1.01 MFG bootloader, is SuperCID, currently with the imate rom etc etc.
Now I go ahead and enter in the commands as exactly in the wiki to change the mainsplash and subsplash with the following output (in this case the output for the subsplash):
USB>task 32
Level = 0
USB>lnb finalsplash.nb 50140000
:F=finalsplash.nb
:A=50140000
:O=00000000
:L=FFFFFFFFF
start NB image download.
Now this is all well and good, but nothing happens. It sits there for a long long time, and the result is I have to do the bad thing on shutting down mtty.exe and rebooting my hermes. What exactly am I missing?
I've checked the filename and filesize (262144 bytes) of the finalsplash.nb, all the orginal bitmaps/finalsplash.nb/splash.nb/padding.nb are there in the same folder. etc etc.
Do I have to be more patient or have I broken something somewhere, because the first time I attempted it, I got the filename wrong and typed in finalspash.nb (forgot the l), so had to disconnect the hermes and restart.
I've rebooted the device after pulling out the cable since doing the above. And it appears to be working (touch wood) still.
Thanks for you help in advance.

All the files I used to generate the finalsplash.nb are in the same folder, including the mtty.exe. I've remade the finalsplash.nb file twice to no avail.
Any other ideas? Should something appear on the hermes bootloader screen? As nothing appears on my bootloader screen at all.
I've tried recreating the finalsplash.nb using the bitmap image directly from the HTC 1.35 Rom. Again followed the exact same steps, but no joy.
One thing I must mention however, is that I had problems starting the nb_image_converter.exe. It kept giving me an error message that the comdlg32.ocx was missing or not registered. A quite search on the forum told me to download the ocx file and place it in the same directory as the exe application, which I did so by searching google (as recommended). This started the application, but may have something to do with this failure?
Okay I sorted out the problem. Seems that the mtty.exe I was using was a strange one. Dunno where I got it from, but it didn't seem to do the job.
All I did was take the mtty.exe from the 1.0.1bootloader zip file from the wiki, and use that. Then it worked instantly.
Thanks for you help though!
i did this
Here is what I have and here is what I hope to have as soon as Kyphur and crew get done.
Well decided to give something back to the community, even though its not that major. Thought someone might want it. I've adapted these existing images from images I've found on the net (through google) and unashamedly stolen.
One of them is supposed to be hermes's (the greek god) winged helmet. Attached some previews, and the bitmap images in the zip file.
anybody tried to make animated splash screen like cingular AKU 3.3 rom?
the image is from *.gif file in %windir% and also the startup sound.
but maybe there is some engine to load the gif image and sound.
is it still related to *splash.nb ?
Hi, can anyone explain more the animated splashscreen?
i think thats not the splashscreen that we speak here about,... maybe its the windows startscreen (in test rom: green (mobile))
@ GeneNZ
velly nice...
good work.

I've found that there are 2 versions of mtty in the wiki.
One version 48 kb (version 0.01) - this is the one that stalls.
The version in the 1.0.1bootloader zip file is 56kb (version 1.11a) - this one works perfectly.
I kinda liked the AT&T logo from 2.06, so I made this for my new Xda-live install. Enjoy
I use my VJSihaya babe for my boot screen and welcome96.png screen (sorry, don't have cab to hand, but imagine this cropped to 320x240 in top right):
So the phone is booting up, and the wife wacks me on the shoulder and says "why are you looking at other girls?". Good thing she didn't look at what was on the storage card

Splash Screens, Phone Skins and the Ext. ROM

I've flashed my T-Mobile Vario II with the latest WM5 AKU 3.3 rom and, whilst I know it sounds wierd, would like to return the look and feel to its original state.
I have executed the original Ext. ROM CABS and copied Tmobile.TSK to the my documents folder but this still leaves the HTC Phone skin in place and the Splash screen is a HTC one.
What I'd like to do is change the splash screen, get a suitable CAB to skin the Phone so it looks "original T-mobile" and then bang the whole lot into the EXT. ROM so that it will all restore automatically after a hard reset.
Is it possible to change the boot screen? Does anyone have the T-Mobile Boot screen if so?
Is there a T-Mobile Phone skin CAB around? Will it impact on AKU 3.3 functionality?
What config.txt command do I need for the .TSK install?
Search the forums for T-Mobile_UK_Customisation_Cabs.
I think that has everything you need.
As I'm so kind, heres a link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297985
Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately those are just the CABS from the original EXT ROM - no splash screen, no Phone skin
off course no splash, this is integrated in RUU flasher (package you used). you can do boot screen by yourself, here is procedure and some usefull information - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296511 but this still doesnt give back you t-mobile screen, to do that you must flash original RUU update from t-mobile (but this version is tooo old, and Tmobile have no plan to release update for vario II), or you can extract splash from full upgrade, how to do it is also in Wiki.

How can I istall new ROM without changing bootloader splash screens?

How can I install new ROM without changing bootloader splash screens?
I would like to upgared to WM6, but keeping my operator bootloader splash screen on when soft reserting the device (so I can trick them not to losing the warranty).
I also found my current ROm in Imate website, but it doesnt have my operator bootloader splash screen, How Can I install this ROM in case I regret upgrading WM6 without affecting the bootloader?
stay sure that the warranty service doesn't look at the splash screen to determine if a firmware has been modified, so if you want it, you take the risk that in case of a problem you have 2 possibilities:
flash back an original firmware or
lose the warranty

You can create your own rom files without the Splash Screens. Check out dutty's Rom Koch. and Olipro RUU updater and HARD-SPL. Read the wiki, read the forums. It's actaully not that hard. All the tools are there. I don't think the warrenty thing is going to fly is you install WM6. I would reflash stock ROM before doing any warrenty stuff.

Changing the splash screens is not going to fool anyone, you need to downgrade to your original rom for work under warranty, or kiss your warranty and your arse goodbye!
Yes, like tco said, it's actually quite simple. You unpack the rom (NBHExtract), remove the splashscreen files, remove the splashscreen references in the NBHGen sample.txt file, pack it up (NBHGen), and flash (RUUWrapper).

Yeah, because thank god that everyone is as useless as you, and can't read the WIKI.. Lord knows that NO ONE from HTC *EVER* reads XDA! You can be sure that a splash screen will certainly trick them into keeping your warranty when the next screen they see is, oh let's see.. A WINDOWS MOBILE 6 OS!!!!!
Seriously. I'd like to BUY any phone that is owned by anyone who can't figure out how to do anything to it--BEFORE it is bricked. Think of it like this. You make less money on the phone now, but, it'll save you from having a $700 repair bill... So, it's really a good investment.. I'll buy a phone *certain conditions apply* from you; just don't brick it first...
Thanks guys for ur reply,
My intend in keeping the splash screen even after downgrading to WM5 since my operator make special splash screen that is not part of the ROM in ImateClub website. That's why I'm asking to backup the splash screen at least !! & not to take the phone to repair with WM6 !!!
I would like to thank you all spcially chenga for his direct reply without saying just words !
I still didnt get how to backup the splash screens to be in my PC, so I can cook up new ROM with current splash screens. BTW there is 3 subsplash screens in my device.

Niki Debranding

Hi I just bought a Niki locked to T-Mobile. I got it unlocked thanks to Olipro and £5 . I would like to debrand the phone, I hate the "Web'n'Walk" stuff and the T-Mobile splash screen. I just wondered what my options are for doing this and peoples opinions on difficulty and results.
1. Manualy remove apps, and flash new splash screens
2. Load completely new ROM, if so which one, can I get an original HTC one?
3. Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Grab the HTC WWE rom and flash that or you could try Tom's rom
I have "debranded" my italian TIM Niki without even reflashing any ROMs:
1) Hard reset your device
2) Go through screen alignment and startup settings
3) Soft-Reset before the extended rom is installed (you will be informed by a dialog box with a 3 seconds timeout, so be quick!)
Please let us know whether it ever worked at all.
Ciao!
It doesnt remove the bootscreen though or the ugly pink icons and when you hard reset again you have to pull out the battery lol
