I've flashed my T-Mobile Vario II with the latest WM5 AKU 3.3 rom and, whilst I know it sounds wierd, would like to return the look and feel to its original state.
I have executed the original Ext. ROM CABS and copied Tmobile.TSK to the my documents folder but this still leaves the HTC Phone skin in place and the Splash screen is a HTC one.
What I'd like to do is change the splash screen, get a suitable CAB to skin the Phone so it looks "original T-mobile" and then bang the whole lot into the EXT. ROM so that it will all restore automatically after a hard reset.
Is it possible to change the boot screen? Does anyone have the T-Mobile Boot screen if so?
Is there a T-Mobile Phone skin CAB around? Will it impact on AKU 3.3 functionality?
What config.txt command do I need for the .TSK install?
Search the forums for T-Mobile_UK_Customisation_Cabs.
I think that has everything you need.
As I'm so kind, heres a link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297985
Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately those are just the CABS from the original EXT ROM - no splash screen, no Phone skin
off course no splash, this is integrated in RUU flasher (package you used). you can do boot screen by yourself, here is procedure and some usefull information - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296511 but this still doesnt give back you t-mobile screen, to do that you must flash original RUU update from t-mobile (but this version is tooo old, and Tmobile have no plan to release update for vario II), or you can extract splash from full upgrade, how to do it is also in Wiki.

Hi all,
Have been mucking about with my Vodafone v1605 and the new HTC ROM. Had a play with the 'green' theme and decided to try and go back to Vodafon colours etc (basically the Vodafone extended ROM).
So, unlocked the Extended ROM, deleted the HTC stuff and replaced with Voda's. No problem.
When I hard reset the device it appeared to be loading HTC's stuff again???? I hard reset again and this time soft reset before the extended ROM could load. I now had a very vanilla WM5 setup
I now unlocked the ext rom again and went to re-import the Vodafone stuff...but it was allready there.
So - I ran the autoupdate and it stared to run. However, after a few secs it complained it could not find \Windows\vodafone.bmp. I ok'd and it carried on.
After all this I have a semi-vodafoned TyTN.
Anyone know what I need to do?? Does anyone have the vodafone.bmp so I may try again??? Is there an easier way to do this that I am missing???
Thanks - Rich
Some more digging found the following:
By simply taking any of the PNG splashscreens available on this site and calling it vodafone.bmp and placing it in the WINDOWS directory I can get the Vodafone extended ROM to run.
However, with teh ROM run I do not get the Vodafone theme or the phone skin or today plugins (guess they belong to the actual ROM not the extended). I do however get a 3 symbol....
In the end I gave up playnig and went back to the HTC extended ROM. Sure, green might not be 100% me but it's a nice change

Questions
Which ROm are you using instead the Vodafone one ?? Did you had screen calibration problems with the old ROM ? Changing the old ROM for the new one fixed this stuff ??
Ok this problem is related to the pre autorun issue that is availavail in the hermas verient....that means not only that the file willbe installed from the extrom bit also a part of extrom is kept in mail ce rom which will install before the installaton of ext rom...you can see it easily as the wait for 3 sec message after a hard reset will came twice the first time for pre autorum and second one from autorun...
now as u using the tytn rom s the pre auorun cnfig is still there which will install the green htc theme and default ie homepage and some other things like hsdpa anaval and some customised operator setting....so it doesnt matter what ext rom you use if u use the tytn main ce rom then u cant ignore them if not u reset just before first 3 sec wait massage and as a result u will not get the complete vodaphone ext rom addons as for vodaphone cd imate too there has some setting which relies on main image not on ext rom...
i think this explainaiton should clear it a bit..
thanks
for the 8525, can i get this on my TyTN that i am running the Vanilla WM6 on? i dont really like the splash screen built in and would like that animated 3G at&t one?
hi, download the cingular wm5 aku3.2 ROM and use nbhextract to extract the .nb files.
two of them will be the boot splash screens. You can flash them to your device as long as you have bootloader 1.01mfg on your hermes. Please see the wiki under Bootloafer 1.02 for more info. It has detailed info on how to flash the boot screen images.
the animated splash is not installed as a splash, its actually in the rom! It requires a gif, some dll's (which im not sure which ones exactly) and some reg keys to make it work.
I am personally trying to get rid of it.
I got the volume turned down, but now just trying to find a way to remove it.

Hi I just bought a Niki locked to T-Mobile. I got it unlocked thanks to Olipro and £5 . I would like to debrand the phone, I hate the "Web'n'Walk" stuff and the T-Mobile splash screen. I just wondered what my options are for doing this and peoples opinions on difficulty and results.
1. Manualy remove apps, and flash new splash screens
2. Load completely new ROM, if so which one, can I get an original HTC one?
3. Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Grab the HTC WWE rom and flash that or you could try Tom's rom
I have "debranded" my italian TIM Niki without even reflashing any ROMs:
1) Hard reset your device
2) Go through screen alignment and startup settings
3) Soft-Reset before the extended rom is installed (you will be informed by a dialog box with a 3 seconds timeout, so be quick!)
Please let us know whether it ever worked at all.
Ciao!
It doesnt remove the bootscreen though or the ugly pink icons and when you hard reset again you have to pull out the battery lol

has anyone found the procedure for replacing WM 6.1 green splash screen from frauhottelmann's 6.5 S740 rom yet? I've been searching and in attempt to change the WM 6.1 green screen, actually was able to change the very first splash screen (funny, don't even remember what it used to be before the change).. Searching further found this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476377 that seems to point to the s740/s743 extended ROM as the location for that WM 6.1 splash screen, but got stuck at finding HimalayaSplashImage.cab. May be someone smarter then I, can look further into this.
Thank you
Since there is no WM 6.1 Splash in my ROM, this has to be a second splash that you have to flash seperately. I have no knowledge about these second splashes (there are devices with 3...) since the Vox only has one and it can be flashed easily (like the Rose's first splash).
I am sorry but I cant help you with this (and a cab file won't change a thing).
I also have this green WM6.1 Splahscreen.
1. the message "Smart mobility" with black Background
2. added to the first message the orange SW Version will be shown
3. the green WM 6.1 Splashscreen is shown for about 2sec
4. the splashscreen that can be changed is shown with "HTC - just brillant"
5. WM Home-Screen is shown.
I also will have a look for a change of this screen. I think there must be something flashed. When i remember correctly it was so on my HTC Herald...

How to change the Orange boot screen?
I installed an energy rom recently on my HD2, one of the early december ones. After installing it I noticed that it has changed my initial spash screen.
I have an HD2 branded o2. Before I installed the rom the phone turned on, you saw the O2 splash screen and then the R G D details down on the bottom left and then it booted into windows. Now after a while I descided to restore the orgional O2 1.72 image on my phone. I restored it by using the leoimg.nbh trick.
Everything is fine with the phone but now when I turn the phone on I now get two splash screens. I get the initial O2 screen as expected, but now it changes to the white HTC screen and displays the R G D details in the bottom left.
Is there any way to sort this out so that it only shows the O2 splash screen, I am worried that if I need to take the phone back, even with hard SPL uninstalled they will not fx it and say it is out of warenty.
Any help would be appreciated.
read the 'watermark your leo' link in my sig.
It is a little bit naughty of chefs to include a secondary splashscreen, because they are not removed by flashing stock roms. I had to send mine back to o2 too, and had to make a fake o2 2nd splash to make it look like one long single splash.
Hey do you have a copy of your custom splash screen I could use?
sorry, i didn't save it, and to be honest it wasn't really the correct one. i couldn't find the hd2 stock image, and failed to extract it from the stock rom, so i made my own from a generic o2 bubbles image and flashed it to 1st and 2nd splash. wasn't the right pic but nothing was said.
