has anyone found the procedure for replacing WM 6.1 green splash screen from frauhottelmann's 6.5 S740 rom yet? I've been searching and in attempt to change the WM 6.1 green screen, actually was able to change the very first splash screen (funny, don't even remember what it used to be before the change).. Searching further found this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476377 that seems to point to the s740/s743 extended ROM as the location for that WM 6.1 splash screen, but got stuck at finding HimalayaSplashImage.cab. May be someone smarter then I, can look further into this.
Thank you
Since there is no WM 6.1 Splash in my ROM, this has to be a second splash that you have to flash seperately. I have no knowledge about these second splashes (there are devices with 3...) since the Vox only has one and it can be flashed easily (like the Rose's first splash).
I am sorry but I cant help you with this (and a cab file won't change a thing).
I also have this green WM6.1 Splahscreen.
1. the message "Smart mobility" with black Background
2. added to the first message the orange SW Version will be shown
3. the green WM 6.1 Splashscreen is shown for about 2sec
4. the splashscreen that can be changed is shown with "HTC - just brillant"
5. WM Home-Screen is shown.
I also will have a look for a change of this screen. I think there must be something flashed. When i remember correctly it was so on my HTC Herald...

Hi,
With a little search om XDA forums I made a splashscreen wich works on my
S740.
So get rid of the green screen
I tried to make an animated version, but I can't get it to work
For people who want to use their own splashscreen picture, go to the folowing website
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=238217
(the programm to convert the image to .nb0 is not working on windows 7 )
rsnel,
I saw those instructions, but got stuck on the cab.
great come back. it works
Thank you!
How to change the Orange boot screen?
Related
I've flashed my T-Mobile Vario II with the latest WM5 AKU 3.3 rom and, whilst I know it sounds wierd, would like to return the look and feel to its original state.
I have executed the original Ext. ROM CABS and copied Tmobile.TSK to the my documents folder but this still leaves the HTC Phone skin in place and the Splash screen is a HTC one.
What I'd like to do is change the splash screen, get a suitable CAB to skin the Phone so it looks "original T-mobile" and then bang the whole lot into the EXT. ROM so that it will all restore automatically after a hard reset.
Is it possible to change the boot screen? Does anyone have the T-Mobile Boot screen if so?
Is there a T-Mobile Phone skin CAB around? Will it impact on AKU 3.3 functionality?
What config.txt command do I need for the .TSK install?
Search the forums for T-Mobile_UK_Customisation_Cabs.
I think that has everything you need.
As I'm so kind, heres a link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297985
Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately those are just the CABS from the original EXT ROM - no splash screen, no Phone skin
off course no splash, this is integrated in RUU flasher (package you used). you can do boot screen by yourself, here is procedure and some usefull information - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296511 but this still doesnt give back you t-mobile screen, to do that you must flash original RUU update from t-mobile (but this version is tooo old, and Tmobile have no plan to release update for vario II), or you can extract splash from full upgrade, how to do it is also in Wiki.
hi ,green screen with horizontal lines came up with missing gsm line on my prophet while flashing with wm6.5 21234 ,then i tried to put gsm file and it stopped at boot screen tricolor one so i returned back to nvid wm5 which flashed it till 95% and gave an error at 100% and rebooted to tricolor again where i clicked on ruug4 file in update hardspl folder and after this it made reboot to wm5 (but wifi didn't work) so i gave it hardspl in updatehardspl folder and later flashed it with wm6.5 but wifi doesn't work and 1st splash screen is ok but second splash screen never shows up (instead green horizontal lines with ipl spl gsm and os come up and later 3rd splash screen comes up) wifi is not working in wm5 or wm6.5 with comm manager or quickmenu either.
has wifi hardware got spoilt ?(is there anyway to test it or correct it)
i have flashed to wm5 to wm6.5 twice to make sure i wasn't doing anything wrong.
also i tried alot of splash screen files but second splash screen remains those horizontal green lines only.
green lines liook like this http://www.dragoncub.net/htc/mda/boot.jpg
wifi is important to work.(green lines are acceptable unless they are interlinked with wifi)

1. It sounds like the disk partition was being disturbed with a fault address,
2. you are lucky that your Prophet is still alive,
3. try this official rom upgrade from dopod (uploaded ) (WM5, may be useful... , it won't brick you device for at least )

also battery is being used very fast now unlike before.
Edit:yours gave error when i put jamin original it stuck up at 100 % i rebooted to tricolor and the clicked on ruug4 in hardspl folder and then again rebooted to wm5 for 3rd time this time. and no wifi ...then wm6.5 and no wifi .
i guess wifi hard ware and second splashscreen area got spoilt .
Edit battery is ok but wifi is not .
Apparently i seriously harmed my Wizard. Its a QTEK9100 WWE with HardSPL.
It won't run the OS (stops in the screen that shows all the ROMs version info) and doesn't ever show the Windows Mobile loading screen.
I tried flashing from the 3 color screen but the RUU gives me error 264: Connection.
Already tried Wizard Love, the original QTEK ROM and some WM 6.1 roms and none of them flash from the bootscreen.
Anyone has a way to flash a new OS to the QTEK ?
Thanks.

If at first you don't succeed, try try again.
I got into that bad condition once and it took me two days of constant trying to get it to work. I didn't do much different, it just finally worked.
ALso search the forums for something about the three color screen. There are several discussions about this.
I have a T4242 device. I had up a custom rom that changed my boot screen (the very first screen after boot the device). Now I want to change this to my favourite imagine. Is there any way to change it?
Can some one helps me?
Thanks in advantage.
You can not change the first boot screen as is part of rom. But you can change the welcome screen. If you mean this, you must rename your image to welcomehead.96.png and copy it to windows folder(replace the original)
Thanks for your answer. Some device have a method to change 1st splash screen like prophet, raphael, kaiser, wizards...

etc,.
Maybe Iolite has not yet got a tool like that.
Yes, I know that there are some utils solutions, and you may try. But have in mind that all cases require a flashing proccess, and not an easy replace of a device's file. I've tried a similar solution on a qtek device a long time ago, but the result was a blank screen in place of the image.
This link seems to have more posibilities to succeed:

Please give us some feedback if you were succesfull and what method used......
thanks
I installed an energy rom recently on my HD2, one of the early december ones. After installing it I noticed that it has changed my initial spash screen.
I have an HD2 branded o2. Before I installed the rom the phone turned on, you saw the O2 splash screen and then the R G D details down on the bottom left and then it booted into windows. Now after a while I descided to restore the orgional O2 1.72 image on my phone. I restored it by using the leoimg.nbh trick.
Everything is fine with the phone but now when I turn the phone on I now get two splash screens. I get the initial O2 screen as expected, but now it changes to the white HTC screen and displays the R G D details in the bottom left.
Is there any way to sort this out so that it only shows the O2 splash screen, I am worried that if I need to take the phone back, even with hard SPL uninstalled they will not fx it and say it is out of warenty.
Any help would be appreciated.
read the 'watermark your leo' link in my sig.
It is a little bit naughty of chefs to include a secondary splashscreen, because they are not removed by flashing stock roms. I had to send mine back to o2 too, and had to make a fake o2 2nd splash to make it look like one long single splash.
Hey do you have a copy of your custom splash screen I could use?
sorry, i didn't save it, and to be honest it wasn't really the correct one. i couldn't find the hd2 stock image, and failed to extract it from the stock rom, so i made my own from a generic o2 bubbles image and flashed it to 1st and 2nd splash. wasn't the right pic but nothing was said.
