Many people have been asking, so I wanted to let everyone know where the new fix stands.
1. This fix will be a real fix, no more crap hacks.
This is a replacement for btagext.dll, so we can just install it, change the ag dll in the registry, and you'll be all set.
2. I have to start over a little bit. I've made serious progress in understanding both the HTC shipped version and the MS VC version of the btag dlls.
3. I was in a car accident, and won't be back to my office to work much for a week or two. I'm getting my laptop back from repair this week, so I will keep you posted.
My release goal day is March 21, but that is now more tentative than before.

I appreciate the effort you are putting into this as I would have no clue where to even begin. I am very sorry to hear about your accident and I also hope you get well soon.
As a developer myself, I am amazed at your ability to understand and reverse engineer compiled DLL files, and even rebuild them. What tools and reading material would you suggest if I wanted to learn to do what you can do?

I have VC 1.6 and is working fine in WM6. what is the exact problem, as i have not noticed anything compared to 1.5 which i had before

Do you use it over bluetooth? and if so it is correctly routing messages and listening to your BT headset for input?
It works fine for me on my Wizard but on my Hermes I have the same issues that everyone else has reported.

I think he was unable to get it to work but has not bothered to post any updates.

Hello everyone, Kinda new to this but today I downloaded the 6.1 beta, its quick I love it now I am sharing it check it out....
Also I got the GPS working on it as well, and Rev A is great. If it restarts or pauses at 11% just let it keep going....

eh, where have you been? we have official wm6.1 rom modified, leak gps and rev. a for over a month already. It has been extended discussed here as well.

Based on the fact that this is Monroe2k04's first post (as indicated by his post tracker being 1) I would say not here before. I am new here aswell, just waiting for ppcgeeks to get back up from the server migration. I like his willingness to share and hope that those who have experience within the forum world will show some form of patience with the newbs out there. We were all new at one time or another and a little patience goes along way.

The older version did not work at all because the mogul lacks a working direct3d driver, and that seems to be what this program uses to render the maps. Considering this problem affected a large number of HTC devices, hopefully the fixed the problem by using another display method.. Will try...

-More stable by using new 3D engin which do not need Microsoft direct3d mobile support
-Fix the start GPS bug in some device
Have not tried yet but it looks like it will work.
I keep getting a critical error while trying to start the GPS... wants me to install a .net 3 cab to get the message...
Well the software does work on the mogul now...
Lets take this and throw it into the box with opera 9.405. We will label this box "SOFTWARE MOGUL USERS CANNOT ENJOY BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH RAM".
This program will gradually suck every drop of RAM then crash within two to three minutes of just browsing the map.
Working fine for me. Using the new stock rom. Very fast.

Well...with 3.27 radio and 6.1 wm the program runs...locks onto GPS and crashes the program after a couple of zooms with OutOfMemoryException for me.
This looks like a cracked version of a comercial application located here: Google Navigator I don't think it is alowed here. You can go to this website and download free version which works but has some limitation. If you like it, buy it and remove the limits.
Also, please read this on front page!

Thanks for support.
I didn't flag the post or was rude, just stated the obvious. This is absolutely a cracked application and there are plenty of places on the net where it is allowed and tolerated; so it shoul be taken there. I recently joined this forum and I like it very much. So just wanted to ask to keep the garbage away.
I didn't realize that it was a crack before I downloaded it, but I have not used the crack. I do intend to purchase if it works well. Its a heck of a lot cheaper than Tomtom.

That is basically what is happening to me. Do you think it is a problem with the 3.27 radio; possibly a memory leak due to an incompatibility? Those of you who are trying it with the official GPS ROM (I will not update until dcd has a release that works with the new radio) are you running out of memory too?
i didn't know it was a crack. like i said in the original post... i downgraded to a stock sprint rom so 3.65 rom update would be faster.
i never tried it. just posted it cause i thought i was a good find.

Edit: I just noticed your provisioning files, did you actually dump the ROM? Would you mind sharing the dump?
that was a "leaked" ROM "leaked" meaning it went to 2-3 people.
I was not going to leak that, in fear of having someone loose there job.
I am going to work on getting it dump here before to long.
I have a list of issues that I have with it right now. I will keep track for about a week, and then I will write a review or something to see what I have found out.
Okay, yes I completely understand why you can't share it now.
I hope you will find out more about the ROM, hopefully you'll be able to dump it correctly.

Well few things. now that is said.
U+S+B+ Power = Recovery Mode
S + L + Power = Secure Bootloader
C + B + Power = Hard Reset
From the phone screen, enter ##77647266488 then press Call
This is the programming screen, you can manually program using this code.
The firmware is a different mess.
It seems we are not able to dump a ROM from device, at least not that I have seen.
Why do you ask, because what Microsoft did is they have different build flags.
-Debug -Beta -Retail -Ship
From inside there, the Ship, has strict settings on it. One of those is that it cant dump the ROM.
So that is where we are at right now. I have a few ideas to try but I am not going to test for a few days.
We shall see though.
So that is what I have figured out so far.

A shame to hear that it's so hard to get it dumped, I really hope you'll be able to. I do not own a KIN, but I would love to have the resources for theming purpose.
Nice site, it's really useful to have all information in one place, but I think it's important to keep posting your findings here on xda too as it will help others who don't know about your site.

Doesn't look like there is much interest in this phone. Too bad. I for one would love if it would get hacked. If some would figure out how to get a wifi router app on it I would be so there. Android would be great too but with the screen size and tegra I doubt anything will happen. I wish I had the time or the abilities to work on this phone.

so... verizon re released the kin, and for this form factor it is a very nice hardware device.
unfortunately, the software on it is still not so good... so i was hoping XDA was on the ball, but it doesn't appear so.

So I've been using the Mozart since last Friday and I'm loving it. It has a pretty smooth interface and the marketplace works really well for me not to mention the Zune integration. )
However I'm either being blind or just plain stupid, how do you set a custom ringtone?
By this I mean how do I set my ringtone for all contacts to be a mp3 of my choosing?

WP7 simply doesn't seem to support custom ringtones at the moment. The guide does mention searching in the marketplace for ringtones though.

Hi all, I've been running DZK's CM10 ROM for a few days now, and I've been very happy with it so far, apart from a lot of force closes on JB optimized apps and issues making calls. I don't know why, but my phone will only make calls when connected to my car's Bluetooth system. When I try to use just the handset, I get force closes, reboots, and garbled or poor connections. Is there any way I can fix this, or any information I can give to DZK so he can?

one word, logcat. for me to explain it would take too long just search for it and it should come up
I appreciate you sending me in the right direction, but I'm sure it'd be a lot faster for you to point me in the right direction then send me off searching. You learn by doing. He said logcat, he didn't link you to an alleged Trojan. You should poke around, I'm more than positive you can find one that is supported on our device and is safe.

I've spent two hours on this already, and frankly, I don't care that much about this to spend much more time on it. I came here trying to help out because DZK wanted people to give him bug reports. But this isn't worth spending half a day on.

Did you flash the bluesleep fix? People have reported that might be the cause of phone call crashing.
And in the future, if you ever need to do a logcat for the devs, follow this:

I didn't flash bluesleep, thanks for your help though. Unfortunately my CM10 build crapped out on me during the day before I got a chance to run the logcat, hopefully alpha 2 will fix the problem anyway.
