unhide / unlock extended rom utility for HP RW6828 - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom Software Upgrading

Hi all,
I am in search of an unhide/unlock extended rom utility for HP RW6828. I have been unsuccessful so far after a couple of days of web searches !
Would be most greatful if anyone can assist with this.
Cheers,
Lionel

There is no extended ROM in rw6828. That's the reason why it also has bigger storage memory available than Atom (clone device).

Atom Life ROM (WM6) into Atom?

Hello there,
any1 know whether or not the news Atom Life WM6 ROM will work on an old Atom?
Thank you so much.
plzzz Reply...
I would be so gr8ful if someone could make a ROM like the O2 ROm Wm6 for th older 02 Atom.... i need it badly...
I wonder why the atom life rom should not work into atom, the hardware seems almost the same..
I dunno. I've compared both the A-Life and Atom together. Despite having the Atom name, the A-Life is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT UNIT. Heck, it doesn't even have the same size. This is a different kettle of fish, unlike the one we had with Atom Exec vs Vanilla Atom.
(You could argue that the size could come from the 3G extension board they tacked onto the Atom board, but I highly doubt that is the case.)
I wonder that too. But I don't want to brick my Atom with Atom Life WM6 ROM. I think I could try that, but I don't know how to set the Atom to tri-color screen or hardrest it.
I've checked the Atom ROM life, it has a totally different ROM structure with ATOM. So, you can not just used directly. We have to port it to our device.
Atom Life WM6 to Atom

HI just got hold of G4 wizzard from t-mobile.i was just wondering if anyone could reccomend me WM6 rom to flash.

(personal opinion)

Some questions about the NVID WM5 ROM? Please Answer!!

After trying several WM6 ROMs for my iMate JAMin (G4) I've gone back to WM5, as using this as a phone is my main priority, which every WM6 ROMs I tried, have failed to do.
Now I've got the RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID WM5 ROM installed.
I'd like to know a few things:
1) Is there a better WM5 ROM than the current one I'm using
2) Is there any way to increase the free RAM? Is this Pagepool thing applicable to WM5 too? I get only 23.5MB free after a soft-reset
3) Can I get Office Mobile 6/6.1 installed in any WM5 ROMs?
4) Can i run HTC Cube in a WM5 ROM?
5) The HTC Network Wizard was a useful tool which I miss in WM5. Can it be installed & used in WM5? If yes can anybody give me the CAB for the same?
I had first posted all these questions in the 'Prophet Upgrading' section. But haven't yet received any proper answers. It seems all smart guyz are busy over here
So I hope for some ans at least now. Thanks in advance guyz....

How to upgrade when no pass.32 match exists

Hi folks,
All I want is a stable O2 XDA Atom Life that doesn't keep crashing. Bought it on ebay and it has: WWE_RC2150507B1 installed, which is one of the first Mobile 6 editions.
I've tried installing several ROM's via the DSUU, but all say Customer or Model ID error. But pasting a different pass.32 file in Windows/Temp has no effect. It makes no sense to me why it isn't accepting the newer WWE_RC2170507B2
Looking at the pass.32 file in a hex editor, it says WWE AL1 Xda Atom O2 Xda Atom Life. If this is what it extracts from the Atom, then it seems like I should have no problem.
Are there any tricks that I can try? Or do I have to get my PhD in hacking, just so I can install an official ROM.
Thanks for any nuggets of advice you can give.

P.S. I doubt I will ever use the radio, so that part makes no difference to me.
Solved by bootloading from MiniSD
Well, I went and got my PhD in hacking anyway and was able to complete the upgrade the same day. Many thanks to awwei for his detailed instructions here on how to modify the flash files and load from MiniSD card: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1287849&postcount=235
Please see my reply to that post with additional comments.

HELP!!! Atom Life WM6.1 Clean ROM

Hi,
I just bought the O2 Atom Life (not the MWG) 2 days ago for a very attractive clearance price in a computer shop. It's still running WM5 though ~
I've browsed through a lots of threads in this forum and have found most of the "unofficial" WM6 ROM have many software "pre-installed" which I don't really need ~
Could anyone suggest where can I download a "clean" ROM for WM6.1 or at least WM6.0? Is the version of the MWG Atom Life ROM only WM6.0?
I would prefer a clean ROM for either English version or Traditional Chinese if there is any ~
Thank you so much
Wallace
I've tried to upgrade the ROM to MWG's Official WM6 (not WM6.1), but the free memory left is < 25MB, and there aren't that many software ~
How's TranMinhMan's WM6.1 ROM (20753) vs Medkid's WM6.1 ROM (19214). Which one will you recommend to be more stable and hopefully less buggy?
Cheers

Hi Wallace,
You can get it at MWG websites but only WM6.0. There's no official WM6.1 for Atom Life.

Hello Wallace,
If you are too lazy to search for it, I give u the link:

Hope this will help you.

Thanks for the replies
I've tried the MWG ROM already and I don't like it because the memory left is smaller than those official ROM and also there aren't any useful "utilities" installed ~
Now the question is where can I find the Official O2 WM6 ROM to "overwrite" the MWG ROM?
Official O2 Atom Life Rom WM6

You could try the ROM in my signature. It's a good compromise between the heavily customised ROMS wwhich often have problems and the stock ones.
Free RAM is about 5Mb more than a stock ROM and it is finger friendly and very reliable.
With PDAVIET 20753 ROM I have 27mb RAM free... Which one is better

PDAViet 20753 TOM build by TranMinhMan is base on the original O2 Atom Life WM6 ROM. some other cooked ROM is based on the MWG ROM.. all this ROM is not official, it is "cooked" version ROM..
to answer you question which one is better, i think the best person to answer you is yourself.. i would advice you to try other ROM version and feel it and study it which one is more stable and which one would satisfies you.
I use the MWG ROM in my signature because, although it does not have as much free memory (15Mb with everything other than TomTom running) I have had problems with .NET applications when using a few PDA VIET ROMS. I'm told that the extra free memory is gained by cutting corners that sometimes cause problems with other software. The PDA VIET ROMS that I have used have all been fine other than this.
I run SPB Mobile shell, SPB Phone Suite, SPB Weather and TomTom 7 on my Atom Life and everything is fast and smooth so I ask myself who needs so much free memory?
The best way really is to try them for yourself
sorry, wrong post
The most stable rom in my humble opinion, may be u should try this awesome rom:
PDAVIET ROM WM 6.1 CE OS 5.2.19971 Build 19971.1.2.6 - light version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=435647
PDAVIET ROM WM 6.1 CE OS 5.2.19971 Build 19971.1.2.6 - full version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=435644
and please check the thread for fix bluetooth problem
Because newer version is not always better
i'm using O2 atom life and obviously it originally had the O2 firmware, since then i've flashed the MWG firmware and currently with it being connected to the PC, it has 13.9mb ram free. So judging from the PDAVIET light version, it seems that theres approx. 28mb ram free, i really want to install it but however I only have a 4gb mini SDHC card, as such, how can i flash it? Flashing the MWG firmware was easy since it was a PC flasher, however, all the custom roms i've seen generally require a 2gb or less card to flash. Is there anyway to circumvent it?
