I am confusing with rom language translated, so if I want to change language on my wm2003se, I just need to use hex editor to modify my rom info (language code section) and it will change into the language that I want ? or it is much more complex than that ?!
moreover, anyone could provide wm2003se CHT version of rom ? I don't want to run into trouble, so I hope some expert could help me to deal with it, Thanks.
Hi,

Scroll down and read the "Notes about CID and Bootloader versions":

Hey guy, made a backup from your Spanish Hermes and then upload it
How Pow told you, is easier to upload a new rom if you read the FAQ, i did it yesterday from Italian to English.
Cheers,
Make a backup of the Spanish ROM before upgrade to the English ROM, please.
Hi,
Can I use original translated files from other ROM?, I mean, I have Qtek A9100 and HTC Tytn. Both sports WM5. Can I use resource files from Qtek on my TyTN?
How I can extract those files from Qtek AND where I can find a list of which files I must dump.
BTW. pof... if your TyTN is in spanish can you send me your resource files to me? Just asking ;-)
Regards,
Taguapire.
@taguapire: I only use english roms, i don't like WinCE in spanish.
@everyone asking for a backup... even if someone does a backup of spanish (or whatever) rom, you'll not be able to flash it on your device: the hermes bootloaders only allows flashing of signed code.

But... I did read that if I rewrite resource files with translated ones the system will turn into that language. Can I do the same with TyTN?

Taguapire.

As I am a new one in this I would apreciate someone to halp me

You have to flash a complete ROM since Windows Mobile 6/6.1 Classic and Professional aren't multilanguage like Windows Mobile Standard 6/6.1! You can find an official WWE ROM with the board search!
Thank you animelover, will try it now

If you intend to only flash the Official HTC ROM, then make sure your phone is not SIM locked, or flashing will fail.
If the phone is unlocked:
1) Download the ROM
2) Connect phone to PC, and ensure that you manage to have ActiveSync working.
3) Double click the ROM and follow instructions.
Just did it
Thank you very much!
By the way, it's possible to make a multilanguage rom.
On my old HTC Prophet, i have a chinese wm6 rom, that actually have 2 languages: English and chinese.

How can we did it?
NetrunnerAT tried many things but didn't succeeded in creating a multilang ROM, so I think there's no hope for such a ROM ...!
It was chinese rom, for Prophet, i found it on chinese forum. (I believe it was xbeta.cn)
Once, i have found one registry keys that depend system language (originally the key was 0804-chinese, but i changed it to english).
After SR, rom get english language, but it was lagy/slow
I have asked about it on 4pda forum (it was first exp, i am glad that found such good forum) and the answer was simple:
The problem was thats rom just didn't loaded properly, because it doesn't have english paths (Only chinese), so some files didn't loaded.
So this litle problem can be easly solved by changing paths.
I didnt do so because i have flashed new wm6.1rom that i found on 4pda.
But i am sure that this is possible
I think all we need for it:
1)Multulanguage ready rom (With .mui's for correct languages)
2)For changing language, user will just run simple program (or .cab) thats will add new path's and new registry keys
By the way, it was only 1.5 years ago
That's a good idea, will try tomorrow something!
I have HTC Touch pro T7272 with norwegian language, Now I want to change language from norwegian to english.
Can you help me for this problem?
Hi. In my view you have to flash an english language ROM to your phone. You'll find plenty of ressources for that on these pages. This reflash will erase whatever you have installed on your device now. As far as i know theres no stand alone language pack that can override the language in the OS.
Please note that the ROM you find, *must* match the make/model of your phone. There's a lot of beginners ressources on this site. Happy hunting

Lars
